    Made this today. Tastes absolutely amazing. I followed recipe exactly with one mod, I added Knorr beef stock, two capsules in place of chicken stock.. I also upped the liquid with extra Douro Portuguese red wine. Outstanding stew with a bourguignon spin! The tip on searing the whole steak instead of cubing a total winner. Just fabulous.
    Done in Instant Pot Gourmet.
    Thank You !

    I have become a big fan of your RUclips site. Your instant pot beef stew was incredible. I only made minor changes to your directions and I cannot imagine pot roast tasting better.....the "gravy" was off the charts. I didn't have chuck so I used a sirloin tip roast of 4 lbs...cut this in half leaving two pieces approximately 2 1/2 thick. Both slabs fit nicely in my 6 quart Instant Pot for both searing (10 min per side) and pressure cooking(30min)........the meat was perfectly done at 30 min. Used large brown mushrooms cut in half and they were still firm after cooking. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this site....you make cooking with Instant Pot very understandable for us newbies.

      so doubling the quantity of meat didn’t increase the cooking time? I need to cook 4 pounds of meat and wanted to know what changes should I make to this recipe, thanks!

    Can you double this in the 8qt?

    Would it make any difference in cooking time if I just leave the meat as one piece instead of cutting it into cubes? I was thinking of slicing the meat into slices (instead of cubes) after it is tender. Would this work? thanks

      Hi Colleen, depending on how thick is the whole slice. It will take roughly 45 minutes and natural release. Take care :)

    I've been thinking of buying an Instant Pot. Is the 3 quart big enough for one person? What size is the one in the video? The reason I ask many of the pictures I see it's just the pot and I can't tell the actual size is hard to determine because there is nothing to compare it to (scale).

    • @Pressurecookrecipes
      @Pressurecookrecipes  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Jim it's a 6qt in the video. 3qt will be enough for 2 people :) take care!

      i am 1 person but i prefer the 6 quart because i like to cook every 2 days not every day, so i cook in bulk each time i use the instapot plus you can only pressure cook on instapots 2/3 full for safety

      Conqwiztadore22 we are 2 but decided to add the 3qt in addition to the 6qt.

    Hi I am new to the insta pot cooking. I am used to the slow cooker for beef stew where you place everything in at once raw and then it slow cooks. U can not do that with the insta pot???

    • @lgray10101
      @lgray10101 5 лет назад

      yes, instant pot replaces a slow cooker, and having to use other pots like a pan to saute etc

    • @ryannoreuil8798

      @@lgray10101 i see. I was told insta pot was designed for the lazy guy, just thrown it in and press buttons and BAM instant food! I guess I got it confused like the microwave!!! :)

    How did you get the broth thick? Most videos show it very liquidy.

    • @Pressurecookrecipes
      @Pressurecookrecipes  4 года назад +1

      Hello Karen! The potatoes in the recipe will thicken the liquid 😊😍

    How did your veg and potatoes turn out after 32 minutes under pressure?

    • @traceyt4580

      I can't imagine anything other than mush

    • @bigalbbq4597
      @bigalbbq4597 5 лет назад +5

      It's supposed to be mushy to break down and make the gravy. That's why you take out half of the veg's after the 4 min.

    • @woosa42
      @woosa42 4 года назад

      @@bigalbbq4597 - No it's supposed to be a filler. The stew isn't hardy if the veggies are gravy. That's what a little corn starch and milk is for.

    question about potatoes, with them being in the whole time don't they disintegrate? I don't own one so I am truly curious. thank you.

    • @Pressurecookrecipes

      Hi Bryan, they do disintegrate. That's why we set aside half of the vegetables for the texture :)

      Cindy Henke you have o make sure you scrape the bottom with the liquid after you seal the meat otherwise the bottom of the pan will burn
