I apologize for getting the year wrong at the end of this movie, Ann's show is this year, which is 2024, NOT 2004! Your elderly and apologetic videographer!
This was refreshing to hear the thoughts from such a talented artist. So much emphasis is put on trying to be different to suit modern ideas but art made from the artist’s true personal love for their output is what matters more than stylistic gimmicks
This was a beautiful and inspirational video. Thank you very much for making it. I have appreciated and admird her paintings for years, and to know more about her life and process was illuminating. Excellent!
Ann's work is a visual breath of fresh air. One feels the presence of nature, as she captures light and form with her marvelous painting technique. I enjoyed the comparisons between the studies and the final studio works where she can reinvent and expand upon the composition. Once again John, thank you for this wonderful introduction. I'm sure her show will be a huge success.
Thank you for this. I've long been an admirer of her work. Love the little vehicles she sometimes includes in her landscapes. Wonderful to see her interior / figurative gouaches.
Thank you for posting this. She is truly talented. I think that there may be a typo at the end of the video. It's listed as 2004 being the year that her show is happening.
I think, despite her not nodding towards climate change there is an environmental aspect to her painting. Her reference to needing to go further and further away due to invasive species.

I am a DUNCE! Thanks for pointing this out. Will see if I can fix it without having to re-upload it.
Gobsmacked at the detail for the urban landscapes
Absolutely Spectacular!!!
Wonderful. Thank you both.
