In my opinion, James Gandolfini's Tony is the best single acting performance I've ever seen. He simply _was_ that character. An absolutely stellar job in the greatest TV series I've personally witnessed. Just finished re-watching the entire run for the ninth time and loved every single minute of it all over again. Bravo to all involved, but extra special credit to the late, great Mr Gandolfini. It wouldn't have been the same without him. Legend.

David Chase told a funny story about the episode where they were going to film Paulie Gualtieri's apartment. They couldn't figure out what it would look like. So they asked Tony Sirico if they could come over to the apartment he was in while they filmed. He said sure.
They walked in and knew instantly that this was exactly what Paulie's apartment would look like... if you remember the episode, Sirico goes over to a rack of what looks like a dozen pair of outwardly identical white leather loafers, selects one, then puts it back and selects a 'different' pair.
      Just perfect.

In my eyes one of the greatest actors of all time and his role as Tony Soprano will live on forever he was that good at playing it to every last detail, and to think of the many roles he would have played in life. It's so sad we lost him so young.

I gotta say that this still gets me. He was the first famous person that I actually felt bad about passing away. He was one that made you feel like you actually knew him when you watched him and I actually felt loss when he passed. Great actor and it was so sad the way he passed while taking his baby on vacation to spend quality time with him and really bond...at least he was with him in his last moments before he went to be with The Lord. My heart goes out to him.

I watched sopranos in December 2022. I know you can't hear this but we love you man. You are the best actor of all time. You made everything possible for everyone else who made great TV. I know he did more and charity but for many of us his performance changed our lives permanently. I will watch the show until my last year on Earth for all of them. Myself. The staff. Chase..And to honor art and genius
I never ever get like this about celebrity deaths but to me he wasn't a celebrity he was Tony Soprano and James gandolfini. A man I connected with and learned from and appreciated. My life is better because of him and everyone there. Nobody should be alone. When Tony was on screen I was never alone.
