In the earlier days of Super Junior, he wasn't even allowed to perform on stages due to him being a Chinese and in some of them he had to wore a full-face mask while performing. What I heard is because the visa problem caused him unable to appear on tv till the issue solved, hence he had to cover his face if the stage would air on TV. But yes, he is the first non Korean kpop idol who filed a lawsuit regarding the extremely unfair contract issue towards foreigners (including the way-too-unbalanced distribution of the money earned from their activities, the effective year length of the contract, etc) and brought the case to the public. That's why back in that point, Hangeng's choice of leaving the group is understandable and supported by many people.
