    I'd say so. I'm a tenth grader (in the U.S.) and I use the metric system almost exclusively in programs like this. We almost always use metric in science classes, and we use both systems in math classes.

    For sure! I'm British and we had the sense to ditch it years ago and we invented it.

    you can do everything with inventor. I have used 3ds max, maya, blender and just about everything between. Aside from the movie making features of these they do not compare to modeling. Autodesk Inventor has made modeling easy as hell

    @MikeEvansHfd You generally dont miter tube, you bend it, however frame components, you would miter. Have you tried using frame generator? This is the best way to create easy miters, flush cuts and frame components in general.

    I am starting a travel trailer project , and my cam/cam is limited to freecad and winging it. But I want to translate what is in my head with all that I don't know to see how it will come together. But I need to add parts and the material they are made of. I kinda tried properties but decided to ask while "winging it"

    Thanks for the info.
    I tried contacting some companies in China and supplying them with the drawings I made in Autodesk Inventor (yea i'm learning it). I want to see what they quote for making 1 part in metal. I'm guessing the cost is going to be unaffordable.
    Are you proficient in Inventor?

    I used inventor R8, but I am using now 2010 version, and have a lot of problems with adaptive parts, does anyone here know if i need to change settings or recommend me a video to understand better this? I start with assy and create new parts from it, I thought that projecting edges will carry new sketches to new place or dimension, according to what I have releated it, but it´s become crazy to test every new feature to see if the assy works, many times the extrusions dont go to where the new position of the part, and so... any comment will be welcome, thanks

    I got a question that I hope someone can answer.
    Supposing I draw a part in Inventor. WHERE do i get it made? Say its some plastic part. Are there companies in China that I send the file to that will make like 2 pieces and send it back to me? How much would creating a couple of pieces of a simple plastic box-like part cost?
    Are we talking under $100 or are we talking $1000 or more! Please someone give me the skinny on this as I'm a bit clueless.

    Umm I can tell you it is not a bug like many are saying. They say this when they dont now how to use something. To turn it back on, go to the View Tab in the Ribbon and on the Windows Panel select the fly out for User Interface. It is hysterical to see ppl are uninstalling this to get it back. Ya, they will be fired really quick form there jobs. LMAO Dont know how to use it, then leave it alone.

    Superior? Not exactly. 12 inches in a foot. 12 is (evenly) divisible by: 1,2,3,4,6and 12. Metrics: 10 is only (evenly) divisible by 1,2,5 and 10. So, take a meter long board and cut it into 3 equal parts. 10/3 = 3.3333333333333. 10/4 is 2.5, thats not even. Cant use 10/6 either. Thats like 1/32 of an inch? Repeated enough times on a 200 foot run, that is almost 2.5 inches off. That is alot and not acceptable in building standards of anything.

  • @duanedean6470
    @duanedean6470 11 лет назад

    Wihtout a degree in mechanical design, there is no reason to learn this. Just because you know it, doesnt mean you will get a job doing it. You are virtually trained as an engineer in all aspects, but can create in Inventor. It is almost unlikely nowadays to get a job drafting without a degree of sorts.

  • @duanedean6470
    @duanedean6470 11 лет назад

    Ya, apparently that wasnt good enough. Here it is in more exact terms in feet. 983571056.43045 ft/s. Looks like they rounded off the metric number huh. Cant be exact with that now can we.

    You should go through your script and select every instance of "go ahead and" and then press delete. There must be hundreds of them, sometimes several per sentence. You've damaged my brain. Is it a nervous habit? Pity about that, as it spoiled an otherwise helpful set of intro tutorials
