I’ve been sick as a dog for 48 hours but that gorgeous sushi made me feel like maybe food isn’t my enemy. Looking forward to the next leg of the trip!
The Rain adds a Nice ambiance. SOLO in the Rain!🥕🍣🥢🌧🌦🌈🌞
I am once again envious of the seafood. Everything looked delicious, and I am glad I had supper before I watched. Thank you for showing us Toyama and the culinary artistry.
Thank you!
"Squid... Salmon... Fish..." You crack me up every time, STJ 😄 That kaisen-don bowl did look worthy of a long journey, incredible value
You always do a great job. Your videos of have been very helpful to me .Keep traveling and stay safe.
Love this channel
Hope you feel better.
Night lights look almost like fireworks.🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The shrimp tempura and sushi looked sooo delicious. Thanks for another great food tour. Really appreciate your naming each item.
The food in Toyama (especially the seafood) is truly spectacular. It's only 2 hours from Tokyo via Shinkansen and just a few minutes away by bullet train from Kanazawa. We really loved the delicious local sake as well which matched the seafood perfectly.
Ekibento is a work of art.
It’s almost disturbing how fresh and beautiful that simple take-away sushi looked.
Thank you for visiting Toyama!! 😉
That looks super oishii!
I miss my hometown of Toyama. It felt natsukashii seeing the station and the delicious seafood. Thank you for making this video. I’m looking forward to visiting again one day soon and will eat at this restaurant!
We will visit Toyama this year...we will try this...Ty
This makes me so happy (and gives me ideas for my trip this October/November). My mom's side of the family is from Toyama and I absolutely love it there; will definitely hit up Toyama Wan Shokudo!
That hotel room seemed so quiet and peaceful.
It looks delicious! good video😋
Toyama is now on my list. I need to try those magical white shrimp (even though eel is my favorite)
So helpful that you identify the various dishes. Thanks!
Lovely food tour. The bento box you had on the train was very nice. Both your sushi meals were delicious. The only thing missing was the dessert. Nice & reasonably priced hotel room. Will see you in the food tour. Take care, stay safe.
6:27 Amazing looking Kaisen Don

What an amazing restaurant!! Every dish looked delicious! 🤗
Excellent day you had, I wish it was me, but I am happy for you, ❤️🇯🇵
I am so enjoying these food tours, STJ! Finding out the various specialties in different places means I'm always learning new things about the various regions of the country. Everything looked delicious, though I am shocked at the lack of dessert 😂. Really excited for the next trip!
That Starbucks is huge 🌟
Oh this made my mouth water so much! Chirashi is my favorite order in a sushi restaurant. And the price! I pay a lot more in the US for something like that!
i feel so hungry watching your video and I just ate!😅 Never been to Toyama before, now I really want to go!
Thanks!
Thanks for the super!
Wow, I wish I could find kaisen don that cheaply here in California - especially one that looks that beautiful! I only ever see it for at least double that price.

❤️☕️TYVM😅
I'm so tired from a long weekend you nearly tricked me with the River Thames comment... 👀
These programs of exquisite food are a source of depression for me as I will never be able to experience such delights myself.
Its famous for its Starbucks 🤣

The food is always enticing, but is so much raw fish safe to eat? I wish we had a real Japanese restaurant here in Utah.
Same here in Wyoming but it doesn't seem to be harmful as long as it is fresh fish....which is hard to really come by in our states that aren't near the ocean. I do fish the river fish at least but always cook it lol
99.9% safe to eat!! Especially if you live in a place like Toyama, with direct access to one of the finest, most diverse fishing grounds in all of Japan. 🙂 Utah--you might want to be a bit more careful.
In Japan, according to food safety guidelines - fish which is served as Sushi or Sashimi is first flash frozen to -35F/-37.2C to kill any parasites which may be present. Other countries may necessarily not practice flash freezing of fish that is utilized in raw preparations.
What is the difference between a Bento and ekibento
In Japan, the Ekibento/Ekiben are meals intended to enhance the experience of long distance train journeys. The meals feature regional and seasonal specialities - typically from the areas the trains travel to.
In the United States there are many states that you should never eat raw fish / sashimi style sushi because the quality of fish is not high. In Japan the quality of fish is extremely important and so they can eat it raw. In the US I would be concerned about getting parasites or being sick. You can't just buy fish from the grocery store and make sushi. This has to be sashimi grade fish. If you have a high population of Japanese (like California) and you live on in a coastal state then it's probably safe but if you're living more inland, don't bother unless you know that restaurant and chef's reputation is high and the prices reflect that. Even then, inquire about the fish that they purchase.
I actually do not like raw fish/ sushi. But I've been told i just haven't had the right sushi. Which i believe, lol.
Yes!
I need to travel with you know how to eat I really enjoy your videos thanks for sharing your experiences with us
Yummy looking as always!!
Thanks for taking us along
Love the look of the raw fish me will only eat raw shrimps n oysters. Admire your taste of japanese foods ..Thanks for posting.
Shrimp are my favorite food. Now I am deeply curious about the Shiroebi shrimp.
👍😊❤
💖
That inari was so scared that it was shaking, then you ate it anyway. RIP inari😒
A Starbucks coffee and a sausage egg muffin is under $6 in Japan? Much more expensive here in Colorado USA
I was looking to see if anyone else caught that. My jaw dropped.
My favorite gourmet.
Do you keep Beto box or return it? I really like them.
That first box: Where is your soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi paste? Saki would make the meals special too!
I also did not like fish as a child. I still do not like salmon unless it's prepared as sushi or it's been marinated to get the fishy smell out
for me it's a texture thing i cant do certain sushi cuz of the texture and I'm not really a big fan of seaweed
"I don't what it is but I'm gonna eat it!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 It's not that I don't like raw fish, it's just in America, you don't know what you're going to get. In Japan, there must be self governed stands or something. In America, they don't care if you live or die. You could get something fresh or something that's months old, that's been frozen, thawed, re-frozen and thawed again. People get horribly sick from being cool and suave for eating sushi here. So I just leave it alone.
That looks like peach slices, not Chestnut's.
In Japanese cuisine, Chestnuts are typically boiled in salted water, which results in that deep coloration.
