I really like his music. Why are so many people on here talking badly about him? If you don't like him why are you even watching this? It's so easy for people to talk shit from a keyboard but find it lots harder to do face to face.

Very interesting always to hear how a singer changes from youthful exuberance to elderly introspection. This song matters in a different way than back during the emotional crisis. That looking back is how we recollect and consider the significance of our seeming spontaneity in the early years. It's the difference between the battlefield and reconstruction. Thanks to all that Barry McGuire gave us.
I was born in 1971, so this song was out for a number of years before I was born. But one thing I have appreciated about it is the raw energy of the lyrics, reflecting the jugular themes of the song from the turbulent 1960s.
I met Barry in person as he was preparing to do a performance at the Calvary Chapel here in Hamilton, MT back in 2004 and even invited him to catch my gig at the local Farmers Market. Due to a busy touring schedule, however, he wasn't able to do so... Now and then humanity comes up with an artistic gem that says something about the human condition. This is one such gem.
