  • Blue movies from Southern Region (British Rail) - a small selection of BR blue stock that ran on the Southern Region - all courtesy of and introduced by close friend Rod Stewart.
This includes a sound fitted 2H 'Hastings' unit number 1121. This unit number 'acquired' roof lighting conduit after an identity swap with 1108 in May 1974. The swap was undertaken due to the need for AWS fitted units running onto Western Region metals.
Arriving from London, blue 2 EPB unit number is running with two 2 COM units nos.6213 & 6259; these being the last pair to survive in service on 13th June 1995.
The 2H 'Hastings' & 2 COM units were renumbered and weathered by TMC in Yorkshire.
2 EPB unit no. 5764 ran in blue livery from 25th July 1969 and was outshopped in Blue /Grey livery in February 1984.
Class 71 012 had been languishing in the storage loops with a broken spur gear until it received a complete motor and drivetrain from a model of E5005.
Class 50s took over Waterloo - Exeter services from the Cromptons. Here we see 50 018 'Resolution'.
Finally, a WR inverse Blue Pullman set worked an educational tour (as part of an transport study course) from Surbiton to South Wales on 25th April 1970; both outbound and return empty stock moves undertook reversals at Guildford station.
Ewhurst Green is a fictional BR(S) 4mm=1' scale model railway which has its basis on several planned (but never built) railway schemes in Surrey (from Dorking) that may have served the villages of Ewhurst and Ewhurst Green (as a junction for Cranleigh and Guildford) on its route down through Midhurst to conceivable join the railway from Brighton along the coast of Southern England near to Havant, thence onto Portsmouth and Southampton.

Shaun, thank you for your kind words!
Following several requests, a layout tour is most certainly envisaged in the not too distant future.
Visually impairment is a barrier so the assistance of others is currently required to do this.
However, much is currently covered on www.EwhurstGreen.com.
You might also find one of my other websites interesting - www.BloodandCustard.com - as it covers much of the rolling stock modelled on Ewhurst Green.
      Kind regards, Colin
