Yeah. Uh try to blow air into the joystick while holding it down then do the same but while holding it up. Worked for me 👀
Wow, this works great! I just squirted the contact cleaner into a small bowl, picked it up with a dropper and dropped a few drops into the joystick area.
My left analog stick is not really drifting but when i realease it make tiny movement by itself in the game, like stuttering a bit and its super annoying. Like in a game your character move forward, you release the stick and it still make 1 or two tiny movements in that direction like micro stuttering. Is this also the drift problem?

I had major stick drift. But blowing air into the joystick while holding it down fixed that. Works like new now!

Hey there sir! I gatta say, it worked. I used 91% and a q tip to scrub the metal while rotating the stick to get deeper. Also the vacuum did work hahahaha

WARNING: Those white rectangles you see around the controller are small chips placed on a black tape (I have no idea what their purpose is). The tape itself on those rectangle extrusions that have the chips on them are not stuck to the controller. So if you take a thin tool, like I did with a guitar pick, and force it inside the tape could be turned backwards and torn apart! Needless to say you shouldn't do this. Thankfully I only bend them on my controller and by bending them back in their place it works just fine. Use a hard plastic tool like he did, work around the edge and not deep inside and above all take your time. The adhesive is very tough to come unstuck.

Well, I think it's better to send your quest for replacement, quest 3 is not even year old, so everyone should still have warranty. At least in Europe with 2 years warranty standard.
3 generation and meta still hasn't fix this, playstation and xbox controllers can last longer than the quest before controller drift appears.
Show me a controller that does not get drift lol

@@mattmmilli8287these controllers take atleast 2 months before stick drift, xbox and playstation take atleast 6 months before a slight amount, and thats if you dont keep it clean.

doesn't work in my house. I did everything the video shows and it's even worse. I requested an exchange from Meta but if they notice that I opened the hood I don't know if they will exchange it for free. Pay attention to the warranty! Do you think Meta closes her eyes if we remove the hood like in the video? THANKS

My stick doesn’t have drift but it does jitter when I push to the edge. I’m hoping I need to clean it, but I keep it in my case when not in use.
expensive af headset with the latest tech, no dust prevention for joystick... my 5-6 yo steam controller joystick still works flawlessly today and I use it a lot, leave it in the open collecting dust etc and not a single problem. bought quest 3 6 months ago and having drift for the past month too scared to break it trying this...
I recently bought quest 3. I noticed that something was rattling under the thumbstick of the right controller. I thought it was a spring, but when I disassembled it, it didn't come true. Wondering who has encountered this, and if there is a way to fix it.
p.s. this was also noticed on quest 2.
I had a good controller for a few months, but then it broke down and i used my warrenty to replace the controllers, 3 times in a row iv had to return to bestbuy to replace controllers that had stick drift straight out of the [CENSOR] box, i refuse to go again so i hope this video works

First replace battery then try pairing controller to the headset again
so.. this is kind of my own dumb fault, but... don't do the last step in this video if you're not a professional at fixing tech stuff. it's REALLY easy to break stuff while trying to pry it open. also, it voids your warranty and the possibility to send the controller in for RMA.

Take cover off,squirt wd40 specialist contact cleaner in around the joystick,wiggle joystick,put cover back on,job done
I can't find what video I'm looking for but my controllers will want to make control cyclist just started randomly activating the clicking button you know when you're trying to click on something to like open it up or play it that happens randomly and it's like really annoying does anyone know how to fix that That's the best way I can explain it so sorry if it makes no sense

Once i set the cap on, the sensitivity spring on the left of the buttons stays in contact with the controller cap and it thinks that im holding my finger there, it does not give issues but it’s frustrating to see can someone help how to fix it ?

You should warn about the LEDs around the border of the top plate which you can easily destroy when opening it with that tool! 😬

It fits very tightly, try force down and tuck the sides in with a blunt object, like a sharpie marker

You don’t have to remove the joystick though it will move enough to get some wd40 contact cleaner in there

Nope, it doesn't work. Seems that I have to change the controller itself, like I had to do two years ago with my Quest2.
after doing this, my x and y buttons are now stuck in a pressed position
7:14 simply put in the angle... Brother it's not that simple as it looks, took me like 10 minutes

You, guys, have to be careful when prying the cover. The sensor LEDs are on the rim.
