thank god someone made a video like this. black desert isnt beginner friendly at all. in game no one really reads chat or answers questions, and there arent any guides really explaining any of this stuff. iv been playing for a week and have no idea what iv been doing even though i have 2 level 50 characters.
As mentioned in the video, Grunil set and Yuria are preferred in the beginning stage. May I know when should I switch my gears and which set should I switch to? Still a new player tho
Great guide, clear and informative! My two cents on enchanting, yes just buy them lol It feels awful after spending all the silver and still failing to enchant
For helmets there is a +5 Evasion crystal that's roughly 1-2million on average on the marketplace. A great choice to have slotted in your helmet for PvP!
Thanks for this. Once I get my computer build finished, i'll be purchasing this game. I just need some more power under the hood before I can play this. :)
Awesome guide. I feel with how much gold the game gives you at the start, you can also mention which accessories to get too maybe? Guides seem to say 2 piece Grunil and 2 piece of Tartrus(?) armor too.
whenever i buy gear and try to equip it i get a message saying 'the condition for using this item has not been met' what does this mean and how can i meet the condition?
at this point this video is definitely outdated -- Your best bet is to do seasonal servers, follow the guidance the game gives you and get full PEN tuvala gear after getting full PEN naru gear and converting it in your inventory to PRI tuvala -- in your quests there's an option for seasonal weeklies, make sure you do those & basically go into the desert and farm stuff like at desert fogans or nagas
@@kilryan thanks, those 3 tips helps a lot. Oh the desert, omg, can you believe I did half the desert quests without the adventurer's compass. 3 days, I wondered the deset to find aakman, lol, this is a crazy game. But I love it. The graphics in remastered mode is a most, the grass looks real, so does everything else.
Ever since they revealed all the hidden stats on items, it makes it super weird to stumble upon gear videos from the time before they did. Most of what people thought about gear was just straight-up incorrect. Like Yuria being high accuracy, for example. Now Elsh is where it's at for the pre-boss weapons.
Hey Kilryan, been watching your vids since tera days. Don't you think Bares is better for beginners since it gives +5 dmg to All species? It should help against mobs more than yuria even though it has a little less base AP.
Bares is a decent choice for pure PvE it has lower accuracy but good AP overall. If you strictly plan on PvE it's an option. Most stick with yuria though
I'm going to be new to PC gaming , and I have a budget can this PC play this in medium settings iBUYPOWER - Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - 120GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive ??
overkill. One tip is that.. dont ever install Nvidia Experience. It will cause you frame drop and stutter problem. So just don't install it. ( especially if you are on Win 10 which is highly most likely)
Hey! Huge fan since the TERA era, now I'm returning to BDO after a while thanks to (or because of) your videos :P I have trouble selecting a class though. In TERA I played Slayer religiously, it had mobility and heavy damage which is basically all I want. But I can't seem to find the right equivalent in BDO. I'm a PVP player so effectiveness in general PVP is the most important thing to me. I'm interested in Wizard, Blader, Warrior and Ninja. I heard Ninjas are hard to play and really _really_ weak atm. Wizards apparently are gods, but I don't really like kiting and having summoned units annoys me :P Warrior seems almost perfect (_because Greatsword!_), however they come off as way too defensive. In TERA terms, the most defensive I'm willing to go is the equivalent of a Berserker (which is... not really defensive :P) and Warriors seem more focused on tanking than that. But I'm not sure, I have literally 0 experience in the game. I quit really early. Finally, Bladers seem really cool and the Awakening looks badass as all hell, and yet I heard that they're weak because their damage is not on-par with the others, and also they can't deal with Blocking classes at all. Do you have any insights? :/ Thanks :3
I know, but Warrior seems really tanky/defensive, I mean, pre-awakening he even has a shield... :/ I know Warriors are stong but IDK if that's because they actually do damage, or because they are simply really tanky and do moderate damage. :/
Ya I had the same issue where I mainly play female characters and all the cool awakenings are for the male classes, but eh if I squint hard enough I can barely tell the difference =P
Cinomod6066 theres green blue and yellow gear. the base stats increases per colour upgrade. but the main reason its better is because of additional secondary stats and socket slots
You can upgrade green to blue or yellow. or blue to yellow... But keep in mind that every upgrade is RNG that can can go everywhere, even back to green.
the fact ive been playing this game for an hour so far and un equipped my weapon by accident and cant figure out how to re equip it makes me not wanna play this. It's complicated for no reason.
right now there is free access to change colors on your gear! im new to black desert and i went ahead and changed my colors.... but what i not sure of is! if i equip different gear will those colors carry over or no... xb cause if not, once the free color changing access goes away..it seems like a pain to getting colors... xb
Lmao every black desert video I watch about gearing up sound like it's in another language i think im bout to quit the game at lvl 51 i can't figure out how to gear up or obtain food with buffs, really anything useful lol.
Lmfao, dudeeee ive done soo much research in this, that i haven't had the time to do my actual research paper in school, rip! There's just broad explanations, nothing in dept for anything :/
This. Makes 3 of us. Needs a simple er system. Just to Fuck ing complicated. I just want cool looking gear to casually exsplore the world and slay monsters in
This is a good general guide to gearing up, but I would like to recommend that you do more research or gain more experience with the game before you start making video guides. Some things that I can point out in your video guide: 1. Recommending Gear and Crystals. Yes, I think everyone agrees that the Grunil set is a decent universal set, but there are many other choices for people to consider and I believe that you need to put those options out there for newer players so they can make a efficient choice of gear selection. Another thing to note in your guide is that you only talked about the Yuria weapon as a main choice of weapon. This is a completely find choice, but there are other options out there that are cheaper like the Krea weapon. Overall, you need more experience with the game before you deliver a guide to the community.
Trying to keep things within the confines of a short enough video for players to comprehend & actually watch through leads to those pseudo cut & dry deliverance of Grunil & Yuria. I do state that there are many other sets & thats also why I try to explain actual 'stats' so it gives people an idea of what they're looking at when searching & looking at gear, however the video is intended to be a baseline for new players. It's a fairly accepted universal belief that Grunil + Yuria is the best / well rounded route for all players to begin with. I do agree I need more experience, but sadly the lack of BDO content on youtube forces my hand to atleast provide some guidance to the new players joining the game.
I disagree that Yuria and Grunil is the best fot ALL classes. If you specified what classes were to benefit from full grunil. This would be more informative.
seriously though, why is Grunil just "that good" within this game? that's not exactly "balanced" right? lol beyond that, I'm obsessed with Zereth on my Valk. BUT talk about a "hit in utility" let alone AP stats, vs boss gear. it freaking SUCKS. Grunil looks terrible on 90% of my characters. I only really like it on my ranger lol great video though
Played the game at launch and quit after 1 week... started again because you kinda inspired me with that video on your reasons but by god the game is as boring as i remember... combat and graphics are cool but everything else feels so bad, i have no goals and no interest in trading..fishing..AFKing??
The key to black desert is creating your own goals & pursuing them. I personally have really enjoyed the lifeskilling aspect, figuring out what I need to collect etc & setup efficient worker empires. It really is a game that flourishes when YOU find content that makes you happy rather than a preset 'go here do this then this' mentality like many other MMO's
I had two accounts on RU, one to bread horses on and another one for full red pvp. Make your own goals that keep you entertained Kilryan hit the nail on the head.
BDO not F2P yet? You know the weird thing about that decision? The NA/EU community told them, "You know, we would appreciate it when you bring your game to us, to remove your P2W items". So they removed these VIRTUAL items and they decided, "Also, these P2FckingWin items cost. So now you buy our F2P game! How that deception feels?". "Cool!". So, will w8 for this to go F2P as it launched. And besides that, they eventually made it P2W, so why keeping the price? Anyway, good guide for newcomers.
I just lifeskilled for a month and bought with that money full boss gear, unfortunately not upgraded so ive to enhance myself. Gear being between +12 - DUO atm, guess I will have to lifeskill another month to get the funds to make it all DUO and fully repaired :/ But no prob, waiting for Dark Knight release which is next month anyways lol
thank god someone made a video like this. black desert isnt beginner friendly at all. in game no one really reads chat or answers questions, and there arent any guides really explaining any of this stuff. iv been playing for a week and have no idea what iv been doing even though i have 2 level 50 characters.
Looks like I know where I'll be coming for BDO guides in the future, LOL. Very nicely done! ;^)
excellent guide. At least the best of what i have found and believe me i have viewed a lot! Good Job!
As mentioned in the video, Grunil set and Yuria are preferred in the beginning stage.
May I know when should I switch my gears and which set should I switch to? Still a new player tho
Nice video Kill Ryan. I will definitely visit back when I actually play this again
One of the best Beginner explanation gear videos for BDO.
Great guide, clear and informative! My two cents on enchanting, yes just buy them lol It feels awful after spending all the silver and still failing to enchant

finally a helpful guide, nice video
Awesome guide! Thanks kilryan!
Love your guides man. Most clear BDO youtube ive comeacross. Thanks! Btw huge Rick and Morty fan, wondering if your guild is recruiting :p
Your guides are really helpful dude
Thanks for video and trying to find people run with
Thanks for this. Once I get my computer build finished, i'll be purchasing this game. I just need some more power under the hood before I can play this. :)
Got a like and a subscribe!
Very understabdable guide.. finally someone putting it simple
just what I was looking for. top man!!
When I try to equip some armor or weapons it says I don’t have the conditions met how do I see what conditions I need to meet
Awesome guide. I feel with how much gold the game gives you at the start, you can also mention which accessories to get too maybe? Guides seem to say 2 piece Grunil and 2 piece of Tartrus(?) armor too.
Andrew Yu every guide ive seen that has positive reviews all say full grunil
I'll be doing an accessory guide when I get home, currently visiting California :D
Subbed. Good format and presentation of this guide. Thanks.
whenever i buy gear and try to equip it i get a message saying 'the condition for using this item has not been met' what does this mean and how can i meet the condition?
Great video, thank you so much for all the help
ah thanks for this guide im thinking about playing so this helps a lot!
I've played 170 hours, level 58. This is the best video I found so far, but I still don't understand anything he's saying. Mmos are for smart people.
at this point this video is definitely outdated -- Your best bet is to do seasonal servers, follow the guidance the game gives you and get full PEN tuvala gear after getting full PEN naru gear and converting it in your inventory to PRI tuvala -- in your quests there's an option for seasonal weeklies, make sure you do those & basically go into the desert and farm stuff like at desert fogans or nagas

Cool guide,ty. Nice job bro, keep it up.
hello, why can't i equip my weapon? It's a Ornella Shamhir, and I'm a hashashin

could you do a guide on the best beginner gear and the best beginner weapons ?
Xhyher Cypher you better look for specific class guide for that, as not every class use the same gear/crystals.
That's what this video is O.o, do what you can - buy grunil & yuria wep & g2g
I don't recommend grunil for beginners. Way to expensive. Agerian armor is better.
***** thanks
I'm going to be new to PC gaming , and I have a budget can this PC play this in medium settings
iBUYPOWER - Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - 120GB Solid State Drive + 1TB Hard Drive
??
Deco medium to high settings
you should be able to do 60FPS no problem.
Deco You can play maxed out at 1080p but without high end mode no problem with that PC and about 30 fps on cities and 60 fps on field.
thank you guys

Go warrior, once you hit 56 your awakening weapon is a greatword and you still have tons of mobility.
I know, but Warrior seems really tanky/defensive, I mean, pre-awakening he even has a shield... :/
I know Warriors are stong but IDK if that's because they actually do damage, or because they are simply really tanky and do moderate damage. :/
March for Dark Knight, you might love that class. Warrior does good damage and pretty high when awakened.
I'd actually love to play DK, sadly however I don't really play female classes...
Ya I had the same issue where I mainly play female characters and all the cool awakenings are for the male classes, but eh if I squint hard enough I can barely tell the difference =P
3:38 - 3:45 what the hell was going on with that dude in the chat? xD
Great video extremely helpful thanks. But I have 1 question what's the different colors mean? Like is a blue set of grunil better than a green orrr?
Cinomod6066 theres green blue and yellow gear. the base stats increases per colour upgrade. but the main reason its better is because of additional secondary stats and socket slots
Sylvester Pedersen thanks ^.^ now I know what to look for.
You can upgrade green to blue or yellow. or blue to yellow... But keep in mind that every upgrade is RNG that can can go everywhere, even back to green.

Is the gear pay to win like ArcheAge where players can never catch up to high end pvp'ers unless they spend thousands of dollars on gear in the game?
Miss being able to join the streams. WHERES MY KOREA FRIENDLY TIMES
that assassin's creed intro
Been playing this game on and off for a year I'm still on 60AP LOL
I tried ur lvl 50 spot and I get killed too easily.

The game is far from pay2win.
Christos Karsanidis it is 10 bucks. Christ it is basically free
Dont expect a game with good graphics and gameplay would be free
sorry, this is very dry
do you even need a gearing guide in a pay 2 win game? just buy it?
Game is far from pay2win.
Theres no such thing as buying combat gear in a game
