Definitely the best of the three because of the attention to details, in spite of the fact that the AT restoration one is positively insane for the amount of work...
This is the kind of thing I want to see on the internet, and which woldn't be possible without it. A German, an Italian and an Estonian do a challenge, comunicating in english. Great stuff!
Thanks. The video is currently being edited in the background. A few places are being cut. Maybe that's the reason. Otherwise it's okay. Greetings
Is this fellow the Estonian or German? Google translate shows many poster's language as Polish, so I'm confused
@@latitude1904 This is the fellow OP referred to as German.
I love Biedermeyer furniture. So lovely!! All of you have gone above and beyond on these restorations.
😀
Great job! I may have voted for AT, but truly it was us, the viewers, who won this competition.
😀👍
Really beautiful result! Those springs sure looked like a headache to put in! My mom has told me how much she loved the Biedermeier chairs her grandma had in Hungary. She said the fabric was really colourful, but I’m guessing that they had been reupholstered. I think that the generations of people who had and loved these chairs would be pleased with your result ❤️
Thank you. that would be nice. In 50 years, maybe the next ones will enjoy it 😀.
I think the challenge should not stop there. You could have each of you 3 restorations to do, one easy, one medium, one hard, this one was hard... complex !
Let's see what time brings 😀
Also a excellent restauration with great result. I think you are all three very good in what you do.
😀
I've seen some of your videos before. I'm now subscribed. Loved the challenge! Please do more. The three of you do such beautiful work.
😀
Wow that was a lot of work! It looked great. I love this collaboration, because I have already been subscribed to all three of you.

Hallo,
😀 sehr gerne
😀
excellent work, very nice restoration, but I have to give my vote to AT Restoration. Keep up the good work and at another time, I will give you a thumbs up! 😉👍👍
😀👍
Un cambio espectacular, ha quedado muy bonita. Felicidades. 👏👏
😀
Now that I have seen the other videos in the contest... you are the winner ✌👍🎖!!! It doesn't matter you didn't have so much likes - it is YOUR work that is the most careful and the most respectful to the original manufacture and looks of this old chair. Had it any feelings, it would be quite pleased ☺. Anyway, I am, for sure. Once again: my compliments 👌!!
Thanks very much. that is very nice. 😀
This was great, and it’s courageous of you to do something new. Really lovely work, as always with you, to a high standard. I will keep watching.🇨🇦💕
😀
😀
Wonderful to watch once again I can’t choose all three of you are winners .. A joy to watch you work
😀
An old beauty brought back to it's former glory. Great work.
😀
A fabulous restoration. A beautiful chair. My favorite style. Carol from California
😀
😀
Most Biedermeier chairs have piping trim. The modern, plain upholstery fabric and machine-made nailhead trim takes away from the beauty of your wonderful restoration. Your skills are always improving. That upholstery job was a real challenge. I love to watch you.
Thanks very much 😀
You actually did restore this chair which is great. You will get better with time and it will become easier for you. First time is always a learning curve. lol You realized your errs and tried to fix them too. Great job
Thanks very much. 😀
Such a fabulous piece. So much work and it really paid off. Great job. It's glorious now.
😀
Merci beaucoup
Excellent job. I love Beidermeier furniture. You did this chair proud. Well done.
😀
I'm impressed by your skills at replacing the seating. Great job.
😀
Holy cow! I did not know so much work went into those chairs! Beautifully done!

I am no wood worker but I do know a job well done!!!thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!God Bless!!!
😀
Great job. Big plus for upholstery. It looks very complex.
😀
I like your attention to the details.
You get an A+ for your effort.

you get my vote all 3 of you are masters of the craft the difference is you do almost everything by hand. and without a lot of fancy tools, a true craftsman.
Thanks very much 😀
Vc merece todos os elogios👏👏👏👏ficou perfeito. Parabéns
😀
Wow, great job! You upholstered like a pro.
😀
This is some of the best restoration that I have seen! Beautifully done!
😀 Thank you
Such beautiful craftsmanship.
😀
This was the most challenging restore and the most beautiful. In my opinion
😀
Loved your upholstery and the inlay. Such detail, and traditional methods. However I vote for AT as he put more time into the structural strength of the chair. But wow. Loved your efforts
Thanks very much 😀
Great job. So much better! Love the fabric!
😀

Perfecto, bien realizado felicidades

Most enjoyable video! Your repairs were so interesting and so were the placement of the springs. I know very little about restoration but so enjoy watching someone so knowledgeable! You did a beautiful job!
😀
Incredible result. A great job. 🤞😅

So many meticulous repairs beautifully done. ❤🎉😊

Beautiful job with the inlaid banding!

Fantastic craftsmanship, if i hadn't seen it, i wouldn't have believed it.
😀
Beautiful restoration and you did an amazing job restoring it as well!!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
😀
Muy buena restauración. Mi voto repartido, entre los tres
😀
😀
The chair is gorgeous. Great job of restoration. I once restored an antique chair, but I used a heavy foam cushion for the seat on top of a plywood support that I used for the base instead of webbing. It wasn't a kosher restoration, but it turned out beautifully and everyone admired it. I gave it to my daughter and her father-in-law claimed it for himself. He spent many a happy year sitting in that chair before he passed.
Hello. Then it served its purpose very well. 😀👍 Greetings
There is something wonderful about saving an old chair or any furniture from the junk pile …
😀
Lovely chair!!! Keep up the good work!!!
😀
For not having done upholstery, you did a beautiful job. I so love it.
😀
Wow, the restoration was perfect, congratulations, it was very beautiful. 💜💜💜

Magnifique comme d.hab bravo!
😀
Excellent work, good subject for your skill demonstration and a beautiful piece, but I have to give the like to AT restoration for his crazy difficult submission. This is a very good second and something to be proud of!
😀👍
I love when you must take off damaged veneer, and then save the small pieces to restore other parts of the furniture. Such care is moving, I have no other word.
I love old furniture, the amount of history embedded in them, and I'm still trying to find HERE traditional products (as you have), like some kinds of glues, lacquers, waxes, to preserve them as original as I can.
Alas, we are a too modern country, and poor, it means there is nothing of the sort here, and importing them is quite impo$$ible 🙄.
Still trying to do my best, even if doesn't come close to what YOU do, not just because of appropriate insumes and tools - but your skill!! Wonderful 😳🤩. Humble compliments!
Thank you for that nice compliment. 😀
That is an incredible video. Such talent & skill.👏👏

la silla ha quedado una maravilla
😀
😀
Wow. Great restoration.

Beautiful Restoration
good job bro
😀
amazing restoration.
😀
Good job for trying the upholstery with the springs for the first time. I would give you a like for this restoration if it wasn’t a contest, especially since you are a Landsman. If you have watched Ahti’s video, I think you would have to agree who the winner is.
If you are a compatriot, you are welcome to write in German. everyone fine. I would have voted for Arthi too. 😀
Nice job and congratulations with your first covering
😀
Wow it's absolutely beautiful. Well done
😀
😀
I guess I messed things up by giving all three of you a thumbs up. I also was introduced to another restoration channel.
😀
Biedermeier pieces are my favorite to see restored. The use of various interesting wood-grains in veneers, colors in paints and stains, and the almost modernistic styles is fascinating to me. Such pieces are rare today, possibly because furniture styles changed so drastically after this trend and the use of veneers resulted in such damage to them.
I think you're right. I also think that buying such a piece of furniture is associated with very high costs. I don't think many people are willing or able to pay such a high price. Greetings
I love your work! You're the best!
😀
Hi, very nice result. Love it! 😀
😀
Let us be honest, this was a competition for 2nd place. AT Restoration cannot be challenged. But your work is also very nice, I could not come nowhere close. Nice chair and you can be proud of yourself.
AT would have gotten my vote too. 😀🤷♀️ greetings
Amazing work!
😀
😀
You work is good, for the first time. Congratulations,
😀
Beautiful job but AT had a great restore. I’ll enjoy watching you in my future.😊
😀
Great work! A little hint on your english translation: in the german language the word "Federn" (engl. feathers) is used s for the outer cover, plumage, of birds and also for metallic devices that can be compressed and expanded. The english word for the latter term is "spring".
So you put in to the chair new springs, not feathers.
Thanks very much. I will next. think about it. 😀
Lol I was wondering when did a spring/coil become a feather. I kept looking at the spring and it did not align with any 'feather' of my experience.
@@chrigunrestauration your English is far superior to my German. Well done again. 👍🏻
😀
Omg, that was amazing, I look forward to watching the other videos of the challenge. My vote down below.
Love the challenge. I am having a hard time deciding the winner. It is between Chrigun Restoration and AT Restoration. Both of you are my favorite restorers. Both your expertise is out of this world. If I was younger I would study your techniques but I am not a Craftsman or even wood work. Boy did I ever miss out in high school, I would of taken wood and metal shop! :)
😀
Great restoration. Have seen AT's entry now on to the final competitor.
😀👍
Great restoration. Other guys done also good job, but you are different league.
😀 Thanks again
Awesome work!!!
😀
Nice work. Great to see you trying something new.
😀
You did a great job. Love it ❤❤❤❤❤
😀
Great job - I love the idea of a challenge between channels! The work you did on the veneer was great and you showed that no piece of furniture deserves to go to the landfill if at least some parts are still solid. Keep up the good work (I think Ahti won this challenge, but you get a thumbs up nontheless, because this was inspiring!). I have one request: please keep written information on the screen longer, it's sometimes hard to read everything before it disappears.
😀
Wieder perfekte Handwerkskunst Made in Oberberg 💪💪😊.

Wow! Great job!
😀
Wow, the chair is so beautiful now!

@@chrigunrestauration actually, I think if it's an antique, it deserves a place in a museum. 😃
@@dellagilchrist7647 Furniture is built to be used
@@chrigunrestauration yes, and its nice to be viewed and admired for how people made furniture like 'art' in the past. Most people only get that opportunity via museums. However, I understand your sentiment. I have a number of pieces which are over 100 years old that I've inherited and I use them, love them and admire them every day.
Once again, kudos to you for your masterful restore and renovation work...a pleasure to watch.
@@dellagilchrist7647 Thanks. That makes me very happy. 😀 Greetings

Well done on doing things you’ve never done before during a challenge. I gave you a thumbs up! I found you through AT and you now have a new subscriber. 👍🏻😊
That makes me very happy. Thank you 😀
The embedded wood is a really great feature!

You are all very good. Chrgun restoration is the best.

----
Hello colleague, a lot of work has been done, difficult, very difficult.
The most difficult part of the job is to fix the springs and filling. Carpentry is easier to do, much easier than the classic upholstery with springs.
Due to the fact that classical restoration is a complex process, and the result is not always pleasing. Antiquarians and museum staff will better and CORRECTLY evaluate the results of the work done with this chair.
No offense, I have no purpose to offend the master, I personally do not like how the surface is prepared for varnish. I'm sure the surface should be smooth and even. And the furniture should look like new. (Shellac will not achieve this)
For this reason, I am engaged only in the restoration of furniture and use only modern tools and materials in my work.
Sincerely, your colleague and subscriber.
PS I don't speak English.
