- There are several types of VSD (ventricular septal defect), which is a common congenital heart defect characterized by an abnormal opening in the septum (the wall) between the heart's lower chambers (ventricles). The types of VSD include:
1. Perimembranous VSD: This is the most common type of VSD, where the defect is located near the membranous part of the septum.
2. Muscular VSD: This type of VSD occurs when the defect is located within the muscular part of the septum.
3. Mal-aligned VSD: This type of VSD is similar to perimembranous VSD.
4. Inlet VSD: This type of VSD occurs near the tricuspid valve, which is located between the right atrium and right ventricle.
5. Subpulmonic VSD: This type of VSD is located near the pulmonary valve, which is responsible for regulating blood flow from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery.
Best VSD video i ve seen till date
Wow ! I'm glad to hear that
I hope you can share it with your colleagues ⚘️ 🙏 😊
Superb echo , amazing , pl do post regularly 🎉❤
Thank you, dear, for your kind words. I hope you can support us by sharing the video with your colleagues ⚘️🙏
Best Regards !
Superb....Best video ... pls label name of views for beginners. Also pls use arrow instead big dot at defect site.
Okay 😊 Thanks for your comments 👍
How to differentiate perimembranous VSD from Inlet VSD
Hello, thank you for your question
The difference is their location. Perimembranous VSD is an outlet VSD ( simply, you can see it only when your echo views show aortic valve like A5ch view, PLAX view and PSAX view )
But inlet VSD is an inlet one, ( simply you can see it only while your echo views show the inlet portion of the heart " AV valves") like A4ch view
Small cardiac defects such as small muscular VSD...mild coarctation of aorta and PAPVC cannot be excluded.ductus and foramen valves are normal structures of fetus ...... matlab .?
Yes exactly 💯
Is supracristal outlet vsd same as sub-pulmonic vsd?
Yes
They are the same
Supra cristal = subpulmonic = subarterial VSD
How to differentiate subaortic vsd from perimembrannous and overriding only in sub aortic vsd ?
Sorry ! I can't understand the point clearly
Subaortic is a site of VSD not a type .
So subaortic VSD may be:
1-Prememberanous VSD if the defect reach both tricupid and aortic annulus.
2-subarterial (outlet)VSD if the defect reach both pulmonary and aortic annulus.
3-outlet muscular VSD if VSD in outlet but surrounded by muscle in all direction.
Overriding of aorta occur if there's
Malaligned VSD and aorta received Blood from both LV,RV
If overriding more than 50% it's called DORV.

I need u r help very fastly pls
Dear
It is actually a large VSD that needs intervention
But a question mark is the TR, i don't know if he actually has severe pulmonary hypertension. A hemodynamic study will be needed
