    The Gen 7 Madone is still relatively 'new' and caters to a niche segment of crit overlords and Venge hopefuls. It's light enough and has enough clearance to run 30mm tires. My hunch says this is the new Emonda. But, word on the street says the Emonda is no more. So perhaps this is a new product line? As for Project One being put on hold my guess is Trek is trying to conserve cash as rumor has it they are cash negative. The 7 Gen Madone will be the bike of choice for the six flat sprinter stages of the TdF this year. Everything else will be perfect for this 'new' bike. Fwiw brand new Emonda's (2023 and 2024) have been popping all over Ebay for 50% off retail. A sign the old Emonda is being discontinued? I don't know, but I can't wait to see the new new thing whatever it may be.

    • @bzzles
      @bzzles 4 месяца назад

      I've been trying to get a madone gen 7 frame to replace my under warranty gen 6 and trek told me they won't have any more gen 7 frames and I need to wait until July to see what they can offer me. In other words the gen 7 is for sure done and whatever is coming out is replacing it.

    • @marshallalexander4329
      @marshallalexander4329 4 месяца назад

      @@bzzles so the same thing happened to me. I recently cracked a four year old Gen 6 Madone and was told the wait would be two to three months. Instead the wait was two or three weeks (my shop is building the new Madone as I type). But, if you can get the new frame then that would be amazing.

    • @marshallalexander4329
      @marshallalexander4329 4 месяца назад

      It does appear the manufacturing delay / backlog was self induced. Almost as if Trek is trying to slim down inventory. Whether it's due to an industry slowdown or retooling a production line is anyone's guess. Fwiw the Madone SLR is handmade in the US and the Madone SL is made overseas.

    • @bzzles
      @bzzles 4 месяца назад

      @@marshallalexander4329 the gen 6 madones were bad. Several friends and myself had them and all wound up with the loose seat post issue which eventually turns into a crack. I really want the gen 7 not gen 8 since I ride mostly flat terrain but I’m not too hopeful based on what I’ve been told. Was your replacement project one or a stock color?

    • @marshallalexander4329
      @marshallalexander4329 4 месяца назад

      @@bzzles I had the same problem as did five or six of my friends. Everyone received a warranty replacement. My Gen 6 seatpost had so much side to side play that it was nuts. And the creaking sounds were endless. Then the frame eventually cracked. Either too much power, poor design or both. I don't know. My bike was a Project One and the warranty credit was $5,300. I opted for the generic matte black (Deep Smoke) and the new, all in one bar/stem. I have a couple bikes and the Madone is strictly for racing, lightning fast group rides (ie Worlds) on flat to rolling terrain. And that's exactly what the Madone is for. The more I think about it, the new bike is an Emonda. The Trek website even says 'the all new Madone.' So why reinvent the wheel when you don't have to? Anyhow I hope you get a new Madone! The Gen 7 frame feels a lot lighter than the Gen 6 frame.
      💯👌🚴

    The Iso-Hole is ridiculous. I know Trek thinks it makes them different, but it is pointless. I’ll never even consider a bike from Trek with the Iso-Hole. Face it, Trek. Dropped seat stays is the best design for both comfort and aerodynamics.

    I'm inclined to think it's either the new Emonda or a new SKU that will eventually replace the Emonda & Madone once inventory becomes depleted, possibly following the 'one bike to rule all' philosphy adopted by certain manufacturers. Trek just released the Gen 7 Madone in June 2022 (just before the 2022 TdF) as a 2023 model so I find it highly unlikely that Trek would alienate customers that bought Gen 7 Madone models.

    Only thing is the bottom bracket area looks much smaller (from photos) than the Gen 7 Malone's (which is massive). Also re the name, (if changing and it is Infinity) would be finally ending the association with the Armstrong era, however most people wouldn't know that anyway. Aside from Isoflow, looks pretty similar to Tarmac, with fork shape etc. In terms of launch etc, they still have Gen 6 Madones for sale on the Trek site, it would be massively ripping the plaster off (in terms of sales) having the Gen 6, Gen 7, Loads of Emondas and a new Gen 8 Madone/Infinity (Which they probably won't use as Bianchi has the Infinito?)
