I want to know (talking about the Marvel clip showcasing displacement) - is that a landscape or a mesh that they’re showing? It looks like they’re layering things, like the depressions of the tyre tracks, how are they achieving that?? Like are the tyre tracks a masked decal type thing that can also displace??
@@topraktunca1829 yeah I don’t think you’d get tracks that narrow and detailed out of the landscape painting brushes though right? Usually landscape painting is limited to blocky vertex-style painting, not fine strokes
How do you convert a project with plugins if disabling them means breaking something? Ofc i can enable them later but some logic and assets are already broken at this point, do i do everything related to plugins from scratch every time?
There is new video on UE channel about Nanite and how to use it properly. There is an example with really dense forest, kinda similar to your. Should be useful. (Named "Nanite for Artists | GDC 2024"). P.S. (If YT don't like links in comments, I just dublicate my comment without link) It's kinda shame, that at some point they recomend to use billboard. But I think it still great to have possibility to choose between Nanite and LODs to get as smooth experience as possible. P.S. Hope it'll help you
@@BoroCGthat video was kinda whack imo, like they sold nanite as a solution to LOD, but that video basically ends in the dude working around nanite by using LODs..
@@now_ever not wanting to be ungrateful for the progress their making, it’s really clever and the tech is really useful in some scenarios, but yeah definitely keen to see nanite and lumen fully realised. And also their planned overhaul of the landscape system! But yeah that was a weird talk I thought, though.

I can't wait to see new walking animations for john
if possible it might be a good idea to include an option to disable camera sway for people with motion sickness
I know when I was working with displacement for a very large scene I had to have image maps that were 32bit to get enough data to avoid stepping.
instead of using the specular channel to pass through displacement info, try using the opacity mask instead since it's uncompressed

probably its a landscape that has layers and they used landscape painting but I am not sure

dope video broddy, hey how did you down scale the temporal sample count in game???? is the a short cut?
There's a screen percentage console command, you can assign keyboard keys to different numbers in the level blueprint

Plugins are the main reason people wait before upgrading. Devs gotta get those plugins ready first
Something that was not clear to me or i missed did you use 5.4 or 5.4.1
I believe it was still 5.4, I recorded like a week ago. They released 5.4.1 real fast
@@BoroCG Yeah haha never seen epic releases a patch so fast! Thank you for the answer!
frame drop every second happened with me when was not connected to the internet
To fix stutter; disable TCP messaging, UDP messaging, and Studio Telemetry plugins
Thanks for reminding about these, but just as in previous version of UE, it didn't make a difference in my project
im just so bummed that right now VR is broken in 5.4 ... but hopefully it gets resolved soon.
wait what? How please tell me how it's broken because I haven't noticed it yet
What laptop are you using that runs unreal like this? Guess it never clicked before, but have you been working entirely off a laptop this whole time??
Yep I only have my trusty laptop, it's ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) with 3080Ti and Core i9 Gen 12

@@peterallely5417 agree. I hope this will change in next versions, to use Nanite with no fallbacks on old systems.

Miss the drawing times. This channel was one of mu fav of drawing. Tell me if you are not drawing anymore.
He does draw when he is designing characters and locations, but that's it
this channel used to be one of the places i learn how to draw
