In my opinion, "comes out good" is not how your model kit looks but how you enjoyed the process. If you enjoyed it, you always are coming out good. Take care 😀😀
Hey QDC your Tiger is riding high. I believe you made the same error I did. This is best illustrated at the 5:39 mark as you will note the torsion bars are resting on the bottom of the locator pins as opposed to the torsion bars covering the locator pins thereby lowering the suspension to the correct height. In other words the locator pins would be covered by the torsion bars and not visible. I know we are not the only ones to make this error so I did want to point it out to other modelers who may be building this kit for the first time.
Just a quick comment to let you know that I enjoyed this video very much. I have just purchased this same, Tamiya King Tiger Kit, and I look forward to building and painting it. I agree with you and I am very happy with the quality of kits that Amiya is producing lately. Please keep making these videos. It is nice to see what other. Modelers are doing, and sometimes I get to see a demonstration of a kit that I may be thinking about buying. I also wanted to let you know that you do NOT seem arrogant or like you are trying to be an "expert" at all. You are very kind, friendly, and helpful. It is plain to see that you enjoy this hobby and want to share that with other scale model hobbyists. Wishing you all the best!
+John Richards That you. You wrote very kind words. You are right. I do enjoy this hobby a lot and my goal is to just encourage others to make their own model kits. I'm just myself. Take care and have a wonderful day!
I watched, until now, most of your videos. And I must say, for a non-professional modelbuilder, you're (in my opinion) a first rate modelbuilder. I learned many things from your builds. Keep the excellent work going and I'm looking forward to your next projects. Greetings from Belgium!
Nice straightforward build Colin on this one. Great job on the camo pattern and the subtle weathering too. Goes to show you that sometimes less is more! Looking forward to your next build.
You can rely on good old Tamiya to make a detailed kit that builds nicely. Well done Q. Your Kingtiger looks terrific. Beauty of a camo paint job. Weathering is tops too. Hope you do the figures also. Bill.
+qdc748a great work as ever. love the camo effect. So far I've assembled mine but have yet to paint it. I did cut out several of the fenders to sumulate field damage, as well as rhe front left flap and added some holes to simulate battle damage.
Hi I just got a tamiya king tiger for Christmas so had to watch your build I was not disappointed you did a great job I like the paint job as always all the best from here in the uk Anthony
That's cool that you shared this with me on RUclips. I'm sure you will enjoy building it. I want to wish you and your family a belated Christmas and also wish you a very happy new year 🎉
So much fun watching your videos ,and the results of your builds are always good ,building models sinds i was a kid ... now i'm 47 and still like it ,Collin keep up the good work you got lots of fans !! Greetings from The Hague Holland ,Have fun !!
I built the same kit a couple months ago. I didn't do a camouflage paint scheme like yours, as it was my first kit and I didn't want to ruin it. I love how your paint scheme looks
+qdc748a I'm considering buying another Tiger 2 kit from Tamiya again and doing a camp scheme. The one I purchased from my local model shop came with photo etch parts and a metal gun barrel
Nothing can go wrong with Tamiya kit, even if it's an older one:) Still you nailed it in your great style, Colin. King Tiger looks fantastic. Cheers, Radek
Welcome back, Maestro. Allow me a little Boston English: "WICKED AWESOME! WHATTA A PISSAH!" Translation: "BEAUTIFUL WORK! WHAT A KILLER MODEL!" Congratulations, Maestro. You are getting better all the time. Tiger Tanks have a certain mystique and yours definitely captured it. For a moment, I thought I was looking at the box cover art, not at your model. Job well done: from the assembly steps to the finished camouflage. Applying those dots by hand, indeed, shows your talent, patience, professionalism, and dedication to this hobby. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration. One question, please? Have you ever thought about something with Zimmerit? All my best. Your friend, Lou
That is a nice build, love the paint work. Every time I watch one of your builds it makes me want to get back into model building. It's been 12+ years since I did my last one. I have a B-17G that's been sitting it the wardrobe for 13 years!, that'll be my biggest challenge. Great work, thank you for sharing :)
You do such beautiful work man. You make it so easy and understanding. I love watching your videos. You have away that I used to be like when I was much younger and could see all the detail and pride in your work . You just keep up all of your hard work. Someones got to keep it going, and your the man WHO can. C.J.
Have you seen Tamiyas Tiger RC tank? Its details are great and its easy and very fun to build. Would you consider it for a future project? Im confident you would love it, it would be an epic build!
Great work. The completed model looks great not to mention the paint job. Here in the uk we have 2 of these tanks in a museum in great condition although they aren't running, both are tiger 2s but they have different turrets, the second tiger 2 tank is the same as the one you have built here and it's like you have completely replicated it right down to the camouflage pattern.
+Hayden Young I believe you are talking about the Bovington Tank Museum (home to the world's only still operational Tiger 1 tank) and you are speaking of the Tiger 2 Porsche turret and Tiger 2 Henschel turret.
+Hayden Young Thanks. I followed the paint scheme recommended by Tamiya. It was difficult at first but once I started painting it got easier. It's cool to know that my model looks like the one in the museum.
Gr8 video, as per usual, and a brilliant subject choice too. I don't have this model, but may consider getting it to add to my collection. I will have to start on my Tamiya Jagdtiger soon
Very nice video really ! . I saw many other videos in your channel and is also very educational for a beginner like me . thank you very much. Greetings from Cyprus.
very nice,as always. :-) think i might go try some tamiya 1:35 scale models. working on the italeri 1:72 bastogne set at the moment. still new ish to it. learning a lot from your video's!
Hi QDC, This was the exellence of execution. respect. I learned so much. Thank you for making your Videos. This tank is wonderfull. I think the camouflage is an eyecatcher. well done. Greetings.
Stunning camo work!! :) Superb!! :) :) Hope to do some armour later on, once my sons surgery is out the way and done with and the warm weather has arrived, as I have quite a few figures to paint up and need to prime them outside, using primer from a rattle can.. :)
Awesome build, I love the paint job, it's come up really well, the tip with the airbrush for the spattered mud is excellent, I will be trying that for sure, thanks for another great video, you have inspired me to get back into the hobby after a very very long absence, keep up the good work 👍
+Halidon You're welcome :) This is a hobby that you can work anytime during your free time. It's relaxing for me and that is the reason why I do it. I hope you will enjoy this hobby yourself. Take care and have a great day!
Another brilliant build. Love watching your videos as you are very talented and have lots of good ideas for modellers, looking forward to the next one :)
You’ve inspired me to do the ambush scheme on the Lang Jagdpanzer that I’m getting this week. I hope it comes out good.
In my opinion, "comes out good" is not how your model kit looks but how you enjoyed the process. If you enjoyed it, you always are coming out good. Take care 😀😀
"It's good. I like it." That's an understatement -- an outstanding job!
Melvin Johnson while building Tamiyas Panther G i almost made that error...good catch!
I would love to see where you display all of your models!
qdc, you are so old school, I love it! I like how you say you are not an expert, but truly deep down, you know you are, and so do I!
Thanks. This one is on my bench now.

Using the airbrush to splatter paint from the brush onto the tank is really ingenious, I had never thought to do that
very nice... I believe you are indeed an expert.
Some of the finest work on the internet.
I watched, until now, most of your videos. And I must say, for a non-professional modelbuilder, you're (in my opinion) a first rate modelbuilder. I learned many things from your builds. Keep the excellent work going and I'm looking forward to your next projects. Greetings from Belgium!
it is a sweet kit indeed, you made a nice model there :) love the ambush camo pattern.
+Hamilkar Barkas Thanks my friend :)
I always love watching you build these models. They're so beautiful when you are done with them.
+BoZoiD57 Thank you :)
qdc748a You are welcome.
Tamiya always makes great models in my opinion. I've never got a bad model from them.
Nice straightforward build Colin on this one. Great job on the camo pattern and the subtle weathering too. Goes to show you that sometimes less is more! Looking forward to your next build.
+bob ahnert Thanks.
2021 but still enjoying watching this 👍👍☺️
Thank you!!!
Sure 2x 😅
But did you assemble the motorcycle and the figures ? :)
@@typhoon8711 No, I haven't. 😁
You can rely on good old Tamiya to make a detailed kit that builds nicely. Well done Q.
Your Kingtiger looks terrific. Beauty of a camo paint job. Weathering is tops too. Hope you do the figures also.
Bill.
+PanzermansBunker Thanks Bill
YES YES YES. I've started this one and cannot wait to see how you do it. saved for later when I can sit down in peace.
+Allan Stott You're welcome. It's cool to know that my video has inspired you to finish your King Tiger :)
+qdc748a great work as ever. love the camo effect. So far I've assembled mine but have yet to paint it. I did cut out several of the fenders to sumulate field damage, as well as rhe front left flap and added some holes to simulate battle damage.
Great model you have brewed up there Collin!

+Andre De Boer Thank you. We're about the same age. This is a fun hobby and it's good to know you enjoy it too. Take care and have a great day!
I built the same kit a couple months ago. I didn't do a camouflage paint scheme like yours, as it was my first kit and I didn't want to ruin it. I love how your paint scheme looks
+Henry Annand Thanks. The camouflage pattern is hard to paint. With a little practice I'm sure you can do it too.
