    Reminds me of my first system. 200w on a shed roof into a power bank thing that would charge up my tools and light up the shed. Now got a roof system an a 6kw array in my garden

    Hi Alistair!
    Amazing video, thanks so much for putting it together.
    In the video your mention your delta 2 has a capacity of 3.6 kWh? Does this mean you have other batteries somewhere? I can only see the delta 2 with having 1024Wh of capacity?
    Thanks again, you have really inspired me!

      Thanks for your comment, it's been 2 years since my last video so this means a lot to me. If I said Delta 2 apologies, I meant the Delta Pro. It's their top of the line model. You could also look at a Delta 2 Max which will give you 2 KWH which is very usable and affordable.

    If this is grid tied have you let the DNO know?

    • @alistairlambert3275

      Yes, quite right.

      Doesn’t look like it is. Tho I thought you only need to apply if over 3.6kw

    • @Masonga79
      @Masonga79 15 дней назад

      No you have to let them know for all but 3.68kw and below you’re just letting them know rather than asking permission

    Hi Alistair, thank you for this video.
    I need to up my solar panel setup, meant to sort in in 2024 bit it did a number on me so did not get the time.
    This video gives me a few ideas, thank you.
    Do you have any issues in winter charging and pulling from the battery setup with it being in what I think is an out building. ?
    Any plans to expand on the battery storage in the future?

      I'm so glad my video gave you some ideas, thanks! The battery in outhouse has held up quite well this winter. In fact, I have been charging the battery overnight with cheap off-peak electricity as I am on a 5p per KWH tariff. No issues last night and it was minus 1 degree. In terms of battery storage I'm happy with 3.6 as my garden is shaded by trees so production is limited to 5 KWH per day. The additional battery (3.6 KWH costs around £1500) so would not really be justified from a return on investment point of view.

      Agree. I'm in the same boat. For me it's about having the ability to power my chest freezer and a little lighting. I heat with wood
      Thanks

    Sorry if i missed it
    How much did u spend total?
    How much energy can you generate per year?
    And how much is that energy worth based on current unit prices ?

    • @alistairlambert3275
      @alistairlambert3275  24 дня назад +1

      Thanks for your questions. The panels cost £65 each (5 x £325), the inverter (£100) and the battery (£1000). Current unit prices are £0.24 peak with Tomato energy. I will do a follow up video once I have 12 months of data.

    Really interesting Alistair - I did not know the EFWN511 EcoFlow PowerStream Microinverters could be grid-tied (they have G98 Standard Version (GB) approval; ECOFL/10021/V1/A2 ). Can you share more on how this is connected to your Consumer unit/Mains?

      @alistairlambert3275 I assume these need G98 install notification, however commissioning notification is not required.

      I will certainly look at the possibility of carrying out something similar over the next few days at our house. You might be interested in the set up we have to run our toilet off rainwater, which has been working continuously for the last few months. This potentially halves our tap water usage.

      @@paulhurdle4915 That is really intresting to me. I collect rain water to wash my car to get a steak free finish! Could you make a video on your rainwater system?
