It's interesting on how different schools teach each form. There are few big differences from my form to his form, yet they are still at the same roots. Nice job dude.
It is the pattern for blue belt, because at gradings you have to do all the patterns below you aswell, he/she probably isnt that sure on this one, so is practising it again :) Because its easy to forget movements-with over 8 patterns!
Every school and/or association has their own style of doing their forms. Bottom line is that he does has the basic moves. I prefer to flow into each movement. That makes li look less mechanical. Also, if you notice the head, there's a lot of "bouncing" as opposed to keeping the knees bent thus keeping the head level. That's just my thought. But like I said, the basic moves are pretty sound and that's what counts. Nice job.
Good pattern, nothing wrong with it AT ALL, Sine Wave is optional, each master will have his own opinion on whether to use it or not. The moves have become more separated over the years, still perform each move at full speed but pause slightly between the moves, it looks better and the non-martial arts public can make more 'sense' of the pattern. If you ever see patterns performed fast, no FAST, you will see what i mean, you can even do it yourself, perform a pattern slow and then fast, make sure you've video'd it and watch it back - Which one looked better overall? Not 'How many imperfections were there?' but 'Which one looked the best? Try it.
thank you very much for posting this as it is the pattern I always forget and tonight i start back after 6 months of training and ive forgotten everything. I am black belt to but because of my age i have to wait 3 years for my next grading so i lost interest, but now im going back! thats my life story good night
Yeah it's called a sine-wave. Technically it's used to create more force. You go down and relax your body, then up while starting your movement, and then you "fall" into your movement, creating more speed. (Speed increases power in an exponential way, Force = Mass x speed²). Some schools (like mine) use it, other don't. I think it's up to the Masters and Sabums to decide whether they use it or not. I use it myself and I'm happy with it :)
+Shashen Wijesena how the hell did you get a black belt if you cant even do the fundamental Blue Belt Pattern. This should be mandatory in your grading....
-Zer0 the Her0- I find that very hard to believe since you have to learn Patterns for competitive tournaments and its basics learn the pattern for each belt.
yea you have to remebr alot of schools teach the "bounce" move for all there Forms. i have been to schools that do both the bounce thing and the simple flow with the head staying level. The reason i was told that the bounce was effective was like the way a picture in baseball drops off the mound and generates momentum with the downward force. which kinda makes sense, but i have always preferred the more fluid motion personally. in fact i found it really annoying and goofy looking after a while
I know the explanation for Sine Wave bouncing, but refuse to believe somebody is generating more power with it than I can not doing it. It's so incredibly stupid looking.
@sosexyjustin I find that kinda funny because you have to be 18 to take the second dan black belt grading under TKD ITF regulations , so there is no way you could be a 3rd dan unless your school is a blackbelt factree that dos not adhere to ITF regulations .
This is red tag grading pattern. The guy is performing it with sine wave and at a pace that shows the grading instructor that the moves and stances are correct. For all that said they were reviewing for Black Belr as they didn't know the pattern.....you are not much of an example black tag. Warm up for your lesson working through all patterns from dan gun upwards. Its a great warm up and will mean you know your patterns. Enjoy TKD but don't be fooled if you are given a black belt and don't know the basics.
When I get nervous, I forget the moves. Thanks for helping me remember them. I am going to give the black belt pretest tomorrow. Wish me luck!
3 year update, haha, you got that black belt yet? If so, what dan?

peak velocity goes in a straight line not up and down also it’s completely abandoned in the sparring the original style was much more practical
Thanks needed to practice for 2nd degree
thank you I had my black belt test and did not know some of the patterns

did you forget halfway while doing ur pattern?
I am struggling to learn the pattern and my grading is in 6 weeks 😿😿
I think you'll find that 'bouncing' is called a sine wave...
Chung Gun isn't Black Belt, it's Blue Belt. I'm Yellow Belt. I still have a ways to go before I learn this.
thanks i needed this one to be prometed to brown tip
