This version is from the "Just Say Noel" compilation. There are a few other versions floating around as well. The earliest version I know of comes from a great indie band called Fuzzy, who recorded it on their "Electric Juices" album. They also have an acoustic version as a b-side. However, the song was written by Florence Dore, who was not in either the Posies or Fuzzy. She finally released her own version of the song on her "Perfect City" album (2001).
I wrote this song in the late 1980s and then played it with Chris Toppin in our Boston band the Myrtles. Fuzzy then covered the song, and the Posies learned it from them. Ken Stringfellow and I have just recorded a new version of it. More info: ruclips.net/video/NmcM35zLvv8/видео.html

Chris Poppin of Fuzzy was previously in a band called The Myrtles with Florence Dore I assume that is where they got the song from.
