- All of our plans ruined... by cancer.
Malin & Tom
We have been making big vanlife plans for our dream campervan project, but we have recently been given some news which has turned our lives upside down. Malin has cancer. They found an aggressive tumour in Malin's lower intestine that turned out to be colorectal cancer. It's quite uncommon to be a young girl with colorectal cancer, but here we are.
Malin has finished a full round of radiation therapy (radiotherapy) and one round of chemotherapy. We start the next round of chemo tomorrow, and we're feeling confident now that we know what's around the corner. It's not easy to be a young girl with cancer, but we're trying to stay positive.
Chemotherapy is not easy, it's extremely tough on the body, so every round of chemo crossed off the list is a big win. Anything that will help us fight this aggressive tumour is a win, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. We’ve been following other channels going through cancer battles such as Eamon & Bec, and TiffanyThinks, and hopefully we can be as strong as they have been. Just like Malin, they are also young with cancer.
Follow along with our colorectal cancer story.

Who are we?
------
We are a young 'Swenglish' adventure family, that consists of Swedish Malin, English Tom, and babies Charlie & Isabella, who are half and half. We love all kinds of adventures, including travelling around Sweden and beyond in our little budget family campervan, and we're currently building our dream campervan project.
But right now we’re focused on one thing: to be free of cancer. We've been on the journey to recover since Malin received her colorectal cancer diagnosis in late 2022.

This brought tears to my eyes. I’m wishing for my bf with a very similar diagnosis. ❤
So many young people getting cancer & heart conditions lately, there's a documentary I just watched, maybe others have seen it too called Died suddenly. Now I'm not saying that's what's happening here, I'm saying it's a worthwhile watch, there's a lot of info 🤔 very interesting. May this mum & dad get healing & back on with living their lives like it used to be...
its the vaccine causing it for sure
It's mostly from the crap they put in our foods. The millenia were really the first generation to be raised on A LOT of processed foods. I think this is the issue with digestive cancers.
I was 31 when I got cancer. I'm now 57 & still have it. Good luck to you.❤️😉👍
I was diagnosed with cervical cancer when our two boys were 3 and 5. Thankfully, I didn’t have to have radiation or chemotherapy but was still very concerned about leaving my boys at such a young age. I am now 62 years old and very grateful that we survived that cancer diagnosis.
My aunt was diagnosed with colon cancer 37 year's ago. She had chemo and surgery and is still going strong at 81. Good luck in your journey.
Damn. She beat the odds. God did not today. Praise God!!!!!
I lost my daughter in 2018 to colon cancer. When she first had any symptom, it was already stage 4. She was beautiful, young, active, with three small children. You are fortunate to have found it early, I wish you the very best on this journey.
So sorry to hear about your daughter! It’s a horrible disease and a terrible fight to go through. I’m stage 3 but they seem very hopeful. Thank you for the support🧡
I’m so sorry for your loss. My worst nightmare would be to lose a child. ❤
So very sorry for your loss.Sending hugs and Prayers
So sorry for your loss! I am a stage 3 colon cancer survivor- 8 years
@@Calichick67 Thank you! I am so very, very happy for you! It is nice to hear someone is winning their battle. Bless your heart!
One of my favorite youtubers ever, Wil Dasovich, a filipino travel vlogger was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2017 when he was 25. He went through 6 months of chemo and surgeries in 2017, and he's been cancer free for 5 years now. Since then, he's traveled to Croatia, Malta, Nepal, Switzerland, Australia, Dubai, and all over the Phillipines. He even climbed some of Mount Everest not long ago. Just messaging this to give you hope. It does get better, and you have the prayers of so many people here supporting you. Wishing you all the best.
Wow thanks for that! He sounds like an absolute inspiration, it’s these kinds of channels (and comments like yours) that keep us going. Thanks!
@@malinandtom did your wife took the Jaab they will giving recently brother?
@@malinandtom i would really recommend searching Wil up. He was really transparent with his audirnce what he was going through so it might help you guys.
I wish people who have negative memories of cancer did not send you these messages. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer of my intestine in 2012. Like you, I did not have metastases and that is a very positive diagnosis. I had an operation to remove the tumour and have been clear of cancer for over ten years now. I’m sure you are being well looked after and can look forward to a great future with your family. x
I totally agree with your comment. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer and I stopped telling anyone except my family and closest friends because for some reason when people find out you have cancer people want to tell you all of their friends, family members, and acquaintances they know who have died of cancer, or very sick with cancer. Then you are also bombarded by people telling you to watch Dr. Berg, or all of the other so-called cancer curing gurus out there making money off of people with cancer and all of the so-called cures.
I had breast cancer at age 24 as well as a hysterectomy 3 months prior to the breast cancer diagnosis. That was is 1988. I’m now 60 and having symptoms of stomach/intestinal/colon cancer~~Thank you for sharing your story 💕🙏
Lots of positive, healing energy coming your way! My son was in fifth grade when I got my breast cancer (right side, left was clear) diagnosis. I was “lucky” that I too had no metastasis! 6 rounds of chemo, 2 surgeries (lumpectomy with 3 nodes removed which were clear and then a second surgery to remove a little more skin tissue that still showed some residual cancer cells) and then 15 radiation treatments. It will be 10 years this coming August since my diagnosis and I am doing well! I was blessed to have a wonderful team of doctors and an amazing family and friends supporting me. It’s not an easy journey! Allow yourself to be angry, to cry, even scream if necessary and then pull yourself up by the boot straps and get on with the work ahead. Treatments have come a long way! You’re young, healthy and also seem to have amazing support which makes all the difference! You got this! Take care! Hugs!

Malin in 2014 my husband went to ER after a week of pain in upper abdomen/chest they found a tumour in his ascending colon which was cancer and also found a genetic mutation for cancer. He has also since had seven skin cancers. We are travelling in our camper trailer living a simple life helping others on farms. You have got this Malin I will be sending all my positive vibes for you and your family. This season will pass and you will find a new season around the corner. ❤️

👍👍👍 Wonderful news that the cancer hasn’t spread or broken through the colon. You will get over this and the surgery is somewhat straightforward, cut the piece of the colon out and rejoin the colon, my husband had this very surgery and 30 years later his still alive. Only problem is that you will need to get regular colonoscopy done in order to check for polyps which gets removed immediately. All the very best.
I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m subscribing and will be following your journey so I can cheer u on and I’ll be adding you to my nightly prayers ❤
Thank you very much for the support 💕
Localized colorectal cancer (since you have no metastasis) is very treatable and the prognosis is very, very good overall on average. Plus you're very young which helps tremendously !
So yeah you've really got a lot of options and time, stay positive: the odds are very good with a proper treatment!!!
Take care, good luck with the therapy ;-)
I have a friend who was sent home to die after chemo and radiation treatments failed to help battle the 4th stage colon cancer. She said her husband had to sometimes clean her up up to 27 times a day around the clock!
She went in for a follow up exam and the doctor informed her she now had Leukemia also. When she announced the news to her husband, he walked out.
So left alone, she saw she had limited options: lay there and die or seek the face of GOD. So she prayed for Father to reveal any sin she needed to repent from. She stated it wasn't easy but she began reading Genesis verse by verse through Revelation.
Then came a follow up visit at the clinic. She waited in the exam room and wondered if they'd forgotten her? She would give it a few more minutes though. Then came a knock on the door and the doctor enters holding a paper in each hand. He walked to her, raising his hands in the air and turned around in a circle.
She asked, "Doc, are YOU alright?"! He declared, "There's been a miracle! No! There's two! ...No sign of cancer anywhere!
Her husband returned home. She said she couldn't blame him; he had just been completely tapped out. This all happened about 26 years ago.
"Whomever finds His precepts, finds healing to all their flesh." HalleluYah 🙌 Do you believe? 💞
I totally belive this.
I turned to God, read my Bible.
Proverbs 4:22
For his words are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
I survived my cancer 19 years ago.
With God's help.

I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I was diagnosed with stage 4 leiomyosarcoma in November of 2016...on my birthday actually. It's a very rare, aggressive type of cancer. I can honestly say, there ARE 'after blessings', if you will, after a diagnosis. The van will prove to be a blessing for you in this journey. Hotels/motels are expensive and not always available when you need them during treatments or to just get away and stay a minute, an hour, the day or night in a peaceful setting....which you may need from time to time. I listen a lot to Kelly Howell's Healing Meditation. You can do this, you got this. You will both have to take care of yourselves and not be hard on yourselves. Be sure to make time for relaxing, meditative moments throughout the day....even if only for 1 minute to help set your intention. Hold each other and give yourselves permission to be in the moment.....remember to breathe, because your life isn't about the cancer (sure as he!! seems like it at times), it's about living your life...just, remember to breathe.
Faith in Gods healing Amen.

Stay strong, and kick the crap out of that cancer!!! I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December of 2021. At first they thought it had metastasized, but fortunately, I was able to get a PSMA-Pet scan done, and found out it hadn't. I was able to get into a clinical trial that treats it quite aggressively, and had high dose radiation brachytherapy, also external beam radiation, and hormone therapy. It sure changed our travel plans last year, but I'm feeling great now, and we're back travelling. Just have to keep getting my blood tests done and keeping my fingers crossed lol. Güten morgan aus England 🇬🇧.! New subscriber aboard the good ship "road to recovery". Firstly, you must try and remain positive, and I fully appreciate how hard that will be. With your children, talk to them, help them understand what you're going through. Kids are capable of handling these situations because of their innocence. But what you have is real, you're living it day to day. Your children would be more upset if you didn't try to tell them I believe. You're a family and you all need to become more of a unit than ever. Now I'm nor suggesting you give them nightmares, but just small example, when my partner was diagnosed as terminally ill, I got my son a picture story book about cancer, and how the child felt. And at the end, she states that she thankful she had the knowledge. Whatever your choice will be the right choice for you. You have my full respect and admiration for sharing your journey. Please keep smiling, stay positive and rest plenty. Sending much love from London 🇬🇧 ❤❤❤YOU GOT THIS 100%.
Oh, sweetie...much peace and many blessings to you and yours.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal carcinoma at 35 and I am almost 50. The whole process took a year and a half and them considered in remision and cancer free since then.
My prayers are with each of you as you travel through the cancer and all that come with that ugly disease. Try to stay positive as best you are able. ❤
I am a cancer survivor.
I am glad it is localized and has not spread. Strength in your fight!!! Hoping for a good outcome.
