@Welonz Heyyy so I watched the whole show and there was plenty of awesome game reveals but 2 particular things picked my interest. First was an untitled game by Fumito Ueda. Absolutely love his stuff (ICO, Shadow of The Colossus, Last Guardian) and I believe there is only SoTC LP on your channel so maybe it would be a good time to do the other ones before the 4th one comes out. I remember your SoTC LP being rly good so I'd love to see you play the other two (they are all loosely set in the same world) Second thing was Okami Sequel!!! One of my favourite childhood games on PS2 is Okami, it was absolute peak and now we get a sequel after 18 years im so shook lol, there's a PS4 remaster of Okami so you could play it before the 2nd installment FINALLY drops. I don't think there's a chance for continuation of MGS games anytime soon but these series for me would be the next best thing (and maybe final fantasy XII) Not now of course since I know with bg3 and veilguard you have a full plate atm. Any thoughts on that Welonz? Thanks in advance for considering it
Re the sempirian script, it looks a bit like sankrit, so I was wondering if it was a real script as well, but Sempiria is the planet she's going to, from which, allegedly, no one comes back, and which apparently has robots in it. So I don't think it's an alternate history or something like that. It was written in 1987 or so, but it wasn't written on earth at all. Perhaps that planet had a separate civilization developing in parallel, which apparently did something ill-advised. It's always interesting to me to see how scifi treats alien civilizations. Most recent scifi games seem to go the dune route, where there basically aren't any aliens, at most human subspecies that look alien, perhaps a robot mechhive or two, and a few go the ancient lost civilization route, where aliens technically existed, but not any longer. What is very underrepresented (I think the last major instance was mass effect?) is the star wars / star trek approach where the galaxy is filled with other alien species in different stages of development. So I wonder what exactly lives on Sempiria. Is it a human civilization that somehow ended up developing there (say by crashlanded survivors or whatever), or an alien one? And is it still functional or was it an ancient one? It's not very much like naughty dog to make a game without deep character writing and interactions, so I doubt that world is empty of life (at least of life that can carry a discussion). One question I have is why name the game "intergalactic" if it's going to be us stranded on a single planet? Intergalactic indicates not just an insterstellar civilization, but one spanning several galaxies. I hope it's worldbuilding and setup for the sequel, rather than just a word chose because of its 80s aesthetic connotations. Also, re the five aces, if you notice the picture of all five, one of the five appears to be the protagonist before she shaved her hair. And a final observation, I am also very hyped for someone to start giving scifi the treatment fantasy has received recently. My heart yearns for scifi BG3.

The trailer looks good and the facial animation is great but personally not really digging the mish-mash of "references", imo it doesn't gel well together. In particular the 1980-90's colorful music / anime / fashion nostalgia doesn't mesh well with the generic bland & grey sci-fi look of the interior of the ship and the main character. It's a first trailer so it might not be representative of the game, but it took me back to the Uncharted era, which I didn't like much tbh. A lot of borrowing from Indiana Jones - Tomb Raider - generic TPS without really bringing anything new.
if you want to compare it then pick Guardians of the Galaxy, as they're clearly going for that vibe & reference, with the mix of sci-fi & colorful 1980s. Except nothing in GOTG is bland and I'm sorry but here the inside of the ship is very generic and grey 2:43 and 3:04 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was more interested in the game until reading the premise, since it seems we are going to be stuck on one planet. So for now Naughty Dog's reputation is doing the heavy lifting for me :)
I'm the opposite honestly. I'm tired of contextless space exploration and I think we have reached a point where we're kinda done with it. I played both the cabin flight sims like E:D and Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, and planetary explorations like No Man's Sky and Starfield. And I'm tired of content dilution. I'm tired of points of interest on maps. I'm tired of procedurally generated planets. I'm even tired of the crafted-but-empty worlds of ME Andromeda. Just give me a script, a story, something to acutally build the space scifi. Shooting and slashing is fun but I'm here to read and to feel stuff, and the shooting and slashing I want to be the spice, not the entire dish. "Ok, you're here, and things are gonna happen HERE" is a solid starting line.
I like the trailer, but I also found the product placement way too distracting. It's getting ridiculous. Porsche was the most egregious with how the camera lingers.
Nope, strikes me the way Concord tried to cash in on Gardeners of the Galaxy, even more obnoxious with the product placement - and mixed with Starfield isn't a compliment to me tbf. I have a feeling this'll bomb big time in comparison to TLoU. I don't think people these days see SciFi as the breeding ground for philosophy, introspection and societal critique it once was regarded as, nowadays it's just an aesthetic coopted by multiplayer shooters to "look cool". And there's again this fortnitification of the artwork that's just become sooooooo stale
" I don't think people these days see SciFi as the breeding ground for philosophy, introspection and societal critique it once was regarded as" bro, **1000xresist came out this year**
I dislike the dialogues in Dragon Age Veil Guard, I see them as someone said they were written like HR is in the room and I find Concord characters totally unappealing. Having said that it makes total sense to me that a woman who is a rebel is bald. I really like the music, esthetics and attention to detail in this trailer. I admit that some of the jokes under this trailer on PlayStation account are funny, but it seems to me that many people who criticize characters mindlessly repeat arguments when they don't fit, and this can unfortunately negatively affect the game that could be actually good.
Looks like Sony is wanting for some Souls-like successes of their own. That little bit of a fight looks like it. Disappointed that so far in the future people are dumb enough to go into melee combat and also going into melee without wearing a helmet. Wouldn't call the choice for a bald woman bold. I'd put it on the in-line-with-expectations on the predictability scale. Especially considering what they did to the Last of Us. Predictable doesn't mean its good or bad. At least the music was good. For the rest the trailer looks a bit derivative and bland. The planet looked dreary... it all looks a bit soul-less. Would want to see actual gameplay.
I think it's cool how the protagonist is kind of racially ambiguous. It's a decision from a marketing standpoint for sure, but also that's probably what most humans will look like in 1000 years.
I doubt it's marketing. Tati worked on the Uncharted movie and now The Last of Us season 2, I literally just think Naughty Dog found an actress they really liked and wanted to use her for their next game.
- Set in the far future, featuring present-day aesthetics and brands - Choice of protagonist is, shall we say, predictable I dunno that I have much faith for this one.
Predictable protagonist? Gosh, what do you mean? Maybe if you spelled it out 🤔Would you prefer a non-humanoid protagonist? A robot? Maybe an amorphous alien who communicates in blinking lights?
@@foxfire9320 Honestly? Yeah, I *would* prefer that. Playing as a non-humanoid with a weird, alien anatomy or a full-on robot (not a pretty-much-human android like in Nier: Automata or Detroit: Become Human) sounds like it could be extremely cool - and, hell, it would even count as "extreme diversity", to satisfy the quota. And also, considering the current state of writing dialogue, a mute protagonist with a unique way of communication would be very welcome. So, yeah, your comment, while obviously intended to be sarcastic, is kinda proving the point. The fact that there is so much potential for an *actually* unique main character - it's Sci-Fi, for god's sake - and instead we got... whatever this is, is very telling.
Why they make main charecter smell "Ego centric & cut throat" I DO NOT like "cut throat" personal 😂 She beat the sht out of her friend to accept "she is the boss"😢 Nah ,that smell bad but it only first trailer who know ?
Alongside Witcher 4 this was definitely the most exciting reveal for me. Everything about the world seems super interesting, the main character seems cool and as it’s ND I’m sure the story will be excellent. The stupidly long wait for this is going to kill me 🥲
All just seems like ideas stolen from other things, haircut pilot chick in spaceship (Romulus), cyborg with vaguely humanoid face (Cyberpunk), laser blade (Doom Eternal) etc only the soundtrack seems appealing
@@anitaremenarova6662 Girl do you know what genres, aesthetics and tropes are? Bland grey??? Whats wrong with you. Its better looking than the blue grey or blue of mass effect and star citozen.
if you want to compare it then pick Guardians of the Galaxy, as they're clearly going for that vibe & reference, with the mix of sci-fi & colorful 1980s.
Funny to call it product placement. Porsche doesn't sell a space ship lol
@@melephs_cap True it's more about brand than product placement!
that bit at the end with the retro music and bright red leather jacket is giving me guardian of the galaxy vibes...
And there's again this fortnitification of the artwork that's just become sooooooo stale
agree 👍🏻
Lol
" I don't think people these days see SciFi as the breeding ground for philosophy, introspection and societal critique it once was regarded as"
bro, **1000xresist came out this year**
It does remind me a bit of Guardians of the Galaxy but I don't think this game will bomb at all it looks like it could be a lot of fun.
🙄
"Bold choice for a bald person, a woman at that."
Did you see the Last of Us 2? It's even directed by the same person as the Last of Us 2. :)
I admit that some of the jokes under this trailer on PlayStation account are funny, but it seems to me that many people who criticize characters mindlessly repeat arguments when they don't fit, and this can unfortunately negatively affect the game that could be actually good.
what do either of those games have to do with this one?
@@blacksailsfan4life they are "woke" and I guess so is this one because it has a woman of color with a buzzcut as a protagonist, duh /s
❤First pin
Wait, is Lev just appearing in the analog dieselpunk world? I like it (of course I'm more curious about the user reviews)
Welonz.. Melonz.. Materwelonz? 😏
looks crap.
@@dyiawblou1671 Oh I had no idea that she was based on an actor, I thought they created the model from scratch
That ship bothers me so much from the outside it looks like a single man starcraft but inside its a huge multi room ship with levels.
- Set in the far future, featuring present-day aesthetics and brands
- Choice of protagonist is, shall we say, predictable
I dunno that I have much faith for this one.
The fact that there is so much potential for an *actually* unique main character - it's Sci-Fi, for god's sake - and instead we got... whatever this is, is very telling.
predictable? it’s not even close to 50/50. the majority are still swm.
was that Kumail and Lalo Salamanca
Yes. I was surprised too but I'll take it.
just a trailer yet already immersion breaking with the ads lmao
sooo, i guess we have another baldy MC

Nah ,that smell bad but it only first trailer who know ?

Hard pass
Anyway, the best thing about Naughty Dog games aren't original ideas (Uncharted is an Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider clone, The Last of Us is just another zombie story, Crash Bandicoot was trying to make Sony's Sonic/Mario), the best part of Naughty Dog is their storytelling and execution.
@@anitaremenarova6662 pretty much everything what @dyiawblou1671 said, plus try to make something that is completely unique in our time....
