I don't know about American pancake batter but the batter needs to contain buckwheat and the batter needs to rise because of the yeast. Poffertjes should be a bit fluffy without becoming too dry inside.
Ok, so just made it with 250g of flour, and that was obviously wrong for the dough’s consistency. 2nd attempt: the recipe works well with 250ml/140g of flour
Hi, We haven't tried it so I can't answer that question truthfully :). However, poffertjes are quite puffy, so I would imaginge the yeast is quite important if you want the texture. Have a great time trying the recipe.
