@GroupNebula563 had a lot of information to contribute regarding this Popstation. These comments from them were made on the Patreon copy of the video and I didn't want the info to get lost over time, so here's a copy paste!
"This particular unit was produced around 2005-07, if I’m not mistaken.
The YD in the model number stands for “Yuan Da” of Shenzhen YuanDa Electronic Co., Ltd.
Yuan Da had a specific few games made in-house alongside the traditional games which they also used in some of their consoles, the in-house ones are the games you’re seeing here and appear on a lot of other YD POP Stations.
Also a little fun fact about these: there are actually two models of this console. There’s the YD-631 (internally referred to as the YD-631A but you’re not going to see it called that anywhere other than the console’s motherboard) and the YD-631B. The normal 631 is significantly harder to come by, has a more standard set of games as opposed to the 631B’s set, and is the one Ashens had. The 631B is the one me and you have, and has the in-house YD games instead. Both versions can come in silver or black."
Thanks for copy/pasting that! I figured the patreon copy just got renamed, had a description added, and was made public eventually. Go figure!
@@GroupNebula563 Unfortunately it has to be re-uploaded fresh so that it appears in people's subscription pages properly (not suddenly appearing days down your list of subs)
@@TweeterMan287 ah, makes sense.
Bros content literally hasnt changed in like 15 years
I've fallen into a time warp back to 2008
4:15 T-Man, as an Ashens OG, you should know the correct description there is 'that game where two men pull their own arms and legs off and throw them at each other.'
Oh geeze, not another one
Edit: I occasionally see Pop Stations at Five Below. I was the one on Twitter who told you about it
i see them at 5 below Walgreens and my local convivence shack (small country town and its literally a converted barn)
Can you imagine going in a mortal fight without singing "Hello my baby?"
Yes! I love Popstation videos, brings me back to the early days of RUclips.
Glad to see some throwbacks to original ashens reviews style
We really need a new website where people can "broadcast themselves", this "RUclips" is now too corporate and mainstream.
One man's e-waste is another man's treasure. That's quite the collectable item you have there.
Indeed, though 631Bs are pretty easy to come by right now
i can’t believe i’m seeing this again, massive throwback to when i watched you in 2012.
i was 11 at the time, im almost 23 now, time flies
best wishes to you tweeterman.
POPSTATION WATCH GANG WE BACK
Oh wow this brings back so many memories
I just came from your crimson Nintendo DS lite unboxing. Glad to see you’re still uploading 😂
Oh my god I found this channel again! I used to watch your video all the time when I was a kid! So happy to see you are still active!
Holy shit, revisiting ashens and ended up here. Core memory unlocked. I used to watch Tweeterman all the time 😂
we're so back
Is that a wedding ring I spot? Has...has our TweeterMan become a TweeterFamilyMan???
Wifey obtained!!
@@TweeterMan287 Cool man! Congrats!!! Welcome to the club.👏👍👍
@@TweeterMan287Ayoooo congrats my guy!
This makes me happy to see such a return to a Pop Station.
ive been watching your vids since i was a kid, im so glad you havent stop
THE DREADED POP STATION!.
NEYYYYYYY!
Oh damn , You're right this looks like the exact pop station ashens reviewed back then.
Ahhh the peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a can. I’m going back into the archives to find that one.
Long Live PopStation
these devices kind of remind me of the one my grandma got me, which was a handheld LCD thing shaped like a price gun that you could change the screens and play like the four games that it came with. (which was a soccer game, submarine game, fighting game, and an F1 racing game)
This is way better than watching the Cooking With Jack Show, a former favorite that now sucks to watch. You’re a classic RUclipsr that I still watch constantly.
I can't believe how much of a hypocritical narcissist he became.
When the world needed him most... He returned.
THE FUCKING MICHIGAN J FROG SONG POPPING UP GOT ME
Well I noticed the problem for the connect 4 game
You picked the 2 player mode called game 1...for some bloody reason
Game 2 is the player VS CPU
hold on I’m going to check if that’s true on my 631B real quick
nope, the one player mode is represented by a little icon of a computer while the two player mode is a little graphic of two consoles with a cable going between them (which presumably is supposed to represent another pop station YD made where you could hook up two of them and play two player mode). I’m assuming the 2 player mode was just accidentally selected because the B button switches between them.
Ashens and DankPods references in the same video? They make up like half the videos I've watched on RUclips!
I used to see Pop stations at flea markets but I don't even know where you'd find these nowadays
Great video!
Omg you are just an Ashens rip off omg how are you driving you sound 10!!!
I see that the comments haven't changed after all these years.
Man, I guess it really IS 2007.
thanks for the nostalgia man...
Oh no, not the Neo-Quad Games again.
God this is nostalgic
I think 4-in line "chess," might actually be another game called "Go" as it has stones placed on a grid
As far as I’m aware it seems to be a version of Connect 4
When ashen reviewed it it was called neo double games.
Ah yes hello old friend
My question is how does the system know which "Game" screen you put in so it plays different music?
The backs of the little screens have these thin, almost rubbery strips that are also the contact points between them and the actual console, telling it what game you put in
@@TweeterMan287 Zebra strips. I thought those were just for the LCD, the graphics on screen but how does the system know that you put in a different game? Im guessing something else inside the screen cartridges.
@@coondogtheman My guess is it's a very basic, tiny resistor at different measurements that trigger different games.
one of my fave youtuber is back nice
Damn they're still making Popstations to this day.
I wish, this one’s old stock.
kids are so spoiled now. many of them have their own tablets,Switches, and heck even their own phones! i wonder if kids would even be entertain by these! heck even 14 years ago i was wonder the same thing!
I mean I pull out a pop station or two every so often, they’re half decent video game consoles once you figure them out.
Where have you been Tweeterman???
by god they're still kicking
to an extent, though it’s mostly brick games these days. this one’s old stock.
Classic
no fucking way these still exist
sadly not, this one’s old stock
what year is it
2006
สนุกมากครับ🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
