Honestly, this is why I do everything myself. Wanted piped cookies for Christmas, nothing crazy, just mittens with white Royal icing and sprinkles. $45 per cookie. Made 40 of them for $15. No, it doesn’t take into account my time but, if you have the skills or are willing to learn, do it. Everything is overpriced and cooking and baking are so easy there’s no need to pay inflated prices. If you don’t have the time, then buy the cookie(s). No shame.
I know it's a different technique, because you're using a projector, but I think if you piped the outine of each colour block first, let it set a little, then went back and flooded the section, it might speed things up for you. And it would also make the colour separation really crisp and clear. Then you just pipe or draw the details on once everything else has set. This is not a criticism, it is just a well intended suggestion, as I used to make and decorate cakes, cupcakes etc. Sadly I had to give it up, thanks to carpel tunnel syndrome. I’d say $13 a cookie MAXIMUM. Cookie ingredients are cheap total cost is probably $25-$30 for ingredients, it probably takes 30-40 minutes for you to mix all the ingredients and bake them then probably an hour total to decorate 12 cookies so about 2 hours of work for $360 is f**king wild.
If you sell any of those, you'll probably get a call from a Disney lawyer. A father had a Spider-Man tombstone made for his young son and was contacted by them, I think he's still fighting them.
This also doesn’t include the hours of practice and work that you took to get to that skill level to be able to do this !! This is an incredible thing!

Agreed. I do get it though because one person wouldn’t be able to design even a batch of 12 in 1 hours based off her speed. What you pay an employee is 16$ an hour where I live minimum, so that’s one-ish cookie loss in wages. For it to be profitable after cost of product too which isn’t cheap where I am either, you’d have to sell them high. Hell no I wouldn’t pay it though, that’s for the rich. I have a hard time paying $5 for 1 cinnamon bun.
I mean, 15 mins a cookie is about 3 hours for 12. Add an additional 2 hours for baking and mixing colors that’s 5 hours of work. Even at 20 a cookie that’s 48 dollars an hour which is still very much overpriced. Add in ingredients and I would still think that you’d be making 30+ an hour which is wild.

That is way too expensive, but I understand why. I would opt for the cheap print. This craft is definitely a luxury.
Yeah thats why she wouldnt sell these it's just not profitable. It's not too expensive but ppl dont know the ridiculous amount of work that would go into it so she'd sell simpler cookies instead bc stupid people wont be able to tell the difference and it would be more affordable while she can profit
@@kittenmimi5326I don't know anybody that would pay $30 for a cookie, regardless of how much work went into it. It's a cookie. It's not that her work isn't worth that much, just that it's an insane amount to pay for a cookie.
Rich people could afford it. I imagine some would pay it for their "precious little darlings"
Im surprised they don't already have automated machines that could make hundreds of these cookies in just a couple hours.
@@kittenmimi5326"ridiculous amount of work" lmao bro she baked a cookie and drew on it.
I swear y'all think any work at all is slave labor 😂
This is absolutely incredible. I love this! Amazing job!
Thats why I bake my own cookies and decorate! Paying more than 5$ for a single cookie is just hilarious!
Yep! Bet they taste better, too.
Her art is worth it! No way you can decorate like her. I know I can't.
These are all super cute and accurate 😮❤
I did six hours 2,700 Mario themed fondant sprinkles and that did not include any prep time I used 😂I love that you keep going 🎉
The fact you made Sarabi and Narla look different when they look the same was incredible!
If I could afford it, I would buy them for sure! Shoot I feel like you're undercharging with how amazing these are!
Right?! Freehand icing and they look exactly like the characters 👏🏼👏🏼
@@MalissiaCreates because she uses a projector, it projects the image onto the cookie and she is simply tracing it
I love this, The Lion King 🦁 🤴 is my favourite Disney movie ❤.
I fr thought you were gunna say copyright laws 😂
It is flawless. Beautiful work❤❤
Oh, I thought it’d be tough to sell because Disney is a huge pain in the ass with copyright
I wouldn’t call a company protecting their IP a pain in the ass. Might not seem fair to some people, but I bet if some of the people who complain about copyright came up with their own characters and started to make profit from them, they’d do similar stuff to Disney.
@@ShintogaDeathAngel Disney is a HUGE pain in the ass with copyright.
They all look so cute ❤
Simply selling it as an “edible print” how adorable and genius 🥹🩷 like a sticker you can eat
omg are you using a projection to ice?! THIS IS GENIUS!!
It's such fun times with 2 gimpy wrists lol!😏😒
If You think about it, it takes you less than an hour to make one cookie and it's not a hard job ... Way too overpriced cuz the work ain't worth it
@@tiffanyheather0110 it is worth it, because there are people who would pay, and it does take skill to make character cookies that look that good. What you mean is it’s not worth it to you.
Just beautiful
Really thought you were going to say " . . . because of copyright laws" LOL
That looks just like simba! So good!
Maybe Disney will hire her to bake for The Lion King 30th anniversary this year!! Fingers crossed 🤞🏾🤞🏾 BTW These are amazing 🤩🤩, almost too good to eat!!
Gorgeous.
Bro be careful of Disney, they could copyright this
And you are super talented 😮!
It would be cool if someone to come up with a color coding system to make mixing royal icing easier. Like automotive paint.
I would so buy this. Lion king is my all time favorite Disney movie.
That is adorable 🥰
I’d say $13 a cookie MAXIMUM. Cookie ingredients are cheap total cost is probably $25-$30 for ingredients, it probably takes 30-40 minutes for you to mix all the ingredients and bake them then probably an hour total to decorate 12 cookies so about 2 hours of work for $360 is f**king wild.
There used to be a lot of jewelry designs i wouldnt make for sale because no one would pay what it was really worth
If you sell any of those, you'll probably get a call from a Disney lawyer. A father had a Spider-Man tombstone made for his young son and was contacted by them, I think he's still fighting them.
A fking tombstone???? Disney has no morality at all.
@@taylorjade6918 Duh.
This gave me nostalgia to the max! You are so talented!
I think it's beautiful. 🎉
Beautiful ❤❤
“I’m piping Young Simba from the Lion King”😂
This also doesn’t include the hours of practice and work that you took to get to that skill level to be able to do this !! This is an incredible thing!
No they'd be really difficult to sell because you'd be sued out the wazoo
You did a great job that looks so cool❤
$30 for one cookie?🤨 you wouldn’t even be able to sell it anyway cause Disney would sue you
30 for one cookie? Omg expensive
yes that's the point
You can get them for cheaper and without a random. Girl complaining about it too
@@BamBabyBrenda them what
@@stillnotstill .... the cookies?
@@BamBabyBrenda no WHAT cookies

I think it would be cool if you did cookies based upon the drawings that the monkey did. Like a drawing version of simba on a cookie
20 or 30 🥴
Per cookie is crazy
And she wants you to buy 12 at a time!!! That's insane!
@@SundayMourningLoveI think you’re being uncharitable. She’s saying she wouldn’t sell these cookies because in order for them to be profitable they would be expensive. She doesn’t want you to buy them, she’s explaining why it isn’t worth selling them.
Yea it's definitely just a thing reserved for people who buy things without asking the price.
I love this cookie! I named my cat Simba cause I love this character and all the movie. Well done! ❤
I'm so glad that u explained this to people. I use to be so scared to tell customers prices because not everyone understands all the time and detail that goes into these projects. Prep work, baking, prep work, icing, more prep work then time decorating and every little detail I wish u could taste the details lol then prep for packaging them then comes KITCHEN CLEAN UP!😳
So I stopped selling my baked goods and now I just gift them
for family and friends for special occasions and bdays. It's very rewarding that way!
💜Love&CupCakes🧁
I would never want to eat its to awesome 😁
Now that's a masterpiece ❤

It’s not difficult to sell this cookie. U just greedy
Did you not hear how long it takes to make a single one? The price is definitely fair
I absolutely love this!! Totally a favorite
Can you do icp please
Insane clown pose?
Looks good ❤
Id sell for a hundred a cookie min lol..min 1k for 12. that price IS RIDICULOUS..but could make them luxury cookies e, and just make them hybrid Deluxe cookies, it could make you some extra profit and get you higher end clients..and would allow you to have slightly SLIGHTLY more competitive pricing/lower prices with your other coolies
I have a tattoo of the Simba tree painting from the original film in honor of a kitten from my childhood. I would absolutely pay that price to have him so beautifully represented 💕
This is amazing! If I could i would pay the 20-30 dollars for it but then i wouldn’t eat it because it’s so good looking!! Lol
So cute!
Alot of people don't understand the work as well as the time and expenses that go into baking, yet they always ready to ask for a discount 😢
I’m so glad u did the lion king that was my favorite growing up I watched it all the time
I'm just asking but would it be allowed to sell them because the lion king and it's character's are property of Disney
That's what I was wondering
No
Unless she has permission no
Love your work it’s so good. This made me a lil sad because it reminded me of someone Stealing my Simba that I made in high school, I was making it for my future baby.
What about copyright?
I've learned that this is technically not copyright. It counts as a parody. As long as you are changing something about it (such as she baked and then designed the cookie, disney didn't do that so they can't claim they did, even if it's their character) it's fine.
@genesisjordan2440 thats what i was thinking however I can't sell my mickey mouse cookies, Aerial, or frozen online. 😫 I keep getting kicked off for copyright
@@genesisjordan2440that’s not true. Literally using the character is copyright infringement. Unless you get permission from Disney, you cannot legally sell items using the likeness of Disney characters.
@@genesisjordan2440that’s not true & Disney will sue you :’) You have to buy the rights from Disney to be able to sell them legally.
It looks amazing!
No one is going to buy a $20 cookie get lost lolll
So cute I love it
$20-$30 per cookie?!?! You smoking something strong. Not only do I hope Disney sues your ass but at those prices for cookies I’d rather just go to Disney land and buy cookies there. Probably cheaper even. Also as someone who went to culinary school and did baking & pastries as a prerequisite you are charging way too much for the basic reality of working in baking. I don’t care if you’re a small business owner this isn’t good business it’s a ripoff. Do better your hobby doesn’t justify you charging such ridiculous prices and whoever buys these I feel sorry for them.
Jeez this just oozes toxicity.
No one is forcing you to buy them.
*And if you actually listened* she said they are too complicated to make and sell because it would make them expensive cause they take a lot of labor.
But instead you just spew toxic vitriol.
And I bet you want to be paid fairly for complicated labor too at whatever job you have.
She’s not charging those prices, did you watch the video? She’s specifically not selling those types of cookies because the price would be too much for the average consumer
WAY TO MISS THE POINT OP
She's literally saying she DOESN'T sell those...
Wow, great job 👏🏾
