I’d really like the Health insurance I just lost, and my parents are very sympathetic to that, but what I’d also really like is the ability to complain to them about how losing it is a systemic failure and not just a fact of life, without them looking at my like I’m insane.

I like to explain it like this: under capitalism, it is the incentive of corporations to maximize your dependency on their products for as long as possible, and it doesn't matter how they do that, even if it's technically or blatantly illegal, doesn't matter if it's moral or not, because at the end of the day they also own the politicians who have the power to regulate and stop them.

Gonna vent here about how I was in an indoor group setting a few weeks ago and somebody admitted that their friend had gotten COVID and they were so concerned for their health… as they sat across from me without a mask. Let me get this straight: you’re afraid your friend will die or become disabled because of COVID, yet you… you won’t wear a mask? ……did you give them COVID?
That trauma aside, I’m so scared for the millions of children who will be told to go to school without masks or other preventative measures in this COVID outbreak and will experience severe rates of disability (I believe it’s 1/3 childhood COVID cases lead to LC). All those kids becoming disabled because adults refuse to accept that the virus is still dangerous. It breaks my heart as someone with empathy and as someone who grew up disabled in the USA.

I'm sorry you had to experience that, hopefully you didn't get it from them! And I'm scared for all the kids too, it's so sad that so many of them are getting infected constantly and becoming permanently disabled because adults are unwilling to accept reality. :( I wish people would accept that the world is different now and adapt rather than pretending like it's still 2019!

It tells us about the society in which the word is used, In english it's overwork death, in polish its śmierć z przepracowania, in japanese its karoshi. 🐻 - (Schools should implement widespread “somatic therapy” to help children connect with their bodies in healthy ways, which will increase much needed bodily awareness and improve overall health. Somatic therapy helps our bodies fight off the physical health problems trauma can cause, but once trauma has already done damage, it’s harder to get somatic therapy to start working. By teaching children somatic therapy before they experience trauma, they can avoid the health problems trauma causes, and will have general health regulation tools for the rest of their lives.)

I think implementing this would also teach people to uphold boundaries around work/labor better and know when enough is enough instead of pushing themselves to a breaking point, because they'd actually be in their bodies rather than dissociating.

@@gothboschincarnate3931I like the thought, unfortunately, in my experience as a former child undiagnosed with Autism and ADHD, and also has experienced a lot of extreme trauma most of my life up until the past few years when I've had more power to determine my own destiny, who is now an adult with late diagnosis for those brain developmental states... it's REALLY HARD to meditate when your own mind holds trauma your own body and and mind can't tune into or you might literally unalive yourself if you knew the things you'd been through... luckily, a medical cannabis prescription has helped me learn what I have going on with me and seek out yherapy on occasion when I'm able to save enough money... Somatic Therapy is something I've heard helps a lot for kids who experience abuse while really little (starting most frequently between ages 6 mos. and age 7 for my particular experience...
Good thought, I just wanted to say that since Somatic Therapy helps people in a bodily-movement way instead of a your-even-more-stuck-in-your head kinda way.
Though I will say, Binaural Beats on different RUclips channels I used to look up has definitely helped me focus to study for highschool and college classwork, before...

Back in the day I used to think education alone could solve almost all issues in our world. I do still think it’s essential, but we must move beyond towards a real praxis: 11th thesis all the way. Great work!

    • @swayback7375
      @swayback7375 9 дней назад +5

One big problem with education is the 20ish year wait to see that effort and expense pay off… in a perfect world it’s a no brainer and helps us all but in our timeline that’s out the window…
Another massive hurdle is anti intellectualism in America!
I’m 40+, when I was in elementary school, say 1988, I was teased and bullied but mostly just rejected and outcast by intentionally ignorant peers, I can remember several times where my 6-9 year old peers would sneer at me and straight up say “you’re weird for knowing things!” And that sucked!
But when my daughter came home from 3rd grade, eyes red from crying and when I ask what’s wrong she said, “the kids in my class don’t like me, they said I’m weird because I know things…” that was 2019…
I wasn’t even a little surpized, I was gutted but not surprised, and at least I could help her through that and now she’s gets all As with ease and enjoy many additional rights and freedoms from me and her school because I was able to show her to “not be ashamed of yourself for knowing things, be proud you want to learn!”
But she repeated my words almost verbatim but several decades later and in a better school, and we’re still reading anti intellectual people and making life livable for them…
On the plus side, once I was called a nerd and it hurt, in time it lost power, a bit more time and my peers started saying “the nerds will rule the world”
Which is 180 degree flip… nerding out is not considered bad anymore, in fact it’s become true and people proudly ID themselves as nerds… which is a huge improvement…
TLDR… things are worse than even… AND things are in fact also better than ever too, which tracks with us being so divided

I suffer from depression, partially due to capitalism, and I've known it for decades. At 63, I've been homeless for about half of my adult life, and I know that's not due to mental incompetence, though I didn't get a good education (school bored me to tears - I always tested extremely well, and never studied). I'd be homeless now, if it wasn't for Hudvash. I'm over two years in my application for SSI. I was denied once, so I procured a lawyer.
All this just to say that I agree wholeheartedly. Capitalism is the bane of my existence.

The market system is a self-perpetuating system, one of the feedback loops are the external costs, as more damage is done as more jobs can be created around the problems, it is obvious that problems can not be solved because all the jobs would be lost.
And it doesn't matter what word is put before the ism, every trading and wage labor based system is the same system, the ideology might be different but it doesn't change how the system works.

She'd avoided the vaccine as she'd heard about some people (like I told her - an infinitesimally small number - not enough to avoid the vaccine!) having bad reactions to it & dying of sudden heart failure. She had a fall getting the weekly shopping in from the car & had to wait all night on the floor of her house until the ambulance came. When they got her to hospital the hospital was so understaffed and overcrowded that it took them 3 days to work out she had a very treatable lisfranc injury to her foot - a dislocation of one of the internal bones. You put a boot on it & it settles back into place. No biggie. After a week in hospital waiting for this she developed COVID, and a week later she died.

Good video! Living as a disabled person in Finland, one of those "promised lands of socialized medicine" that US socdems and demsocs keep praising, I can tell you that we're not worth the hype. Our vaunted healthcare system was set up out of sheer fear of looking bad next to the Soviet Union, and ever since that incentive disappeared capitalism has done its damnedest to make us suffer. Neoliberal rule is causing untold suffering, and the state uses nostalgia to maintain an image that no longer holds true (if it ever did). We have a four-tiered healthcare system, and the only way to receive care that fulfills international human rights agreements is if you happen to be rich enough to afford expensive private care or make enough profits for capital to them to pay for private healthcare. The rest of us are kept alive and our loved ones appeased enough not to revolt. Students with potential to become "innovators" get some third sector treatment above the unwashed masses, creating that fourth tier.
Idolizing our healthcare system is just putting sprinkles on a feces smoothie, and not admitting that smoothies shouldn't have feces in the first place.

Yeah, Mandolin slicers are lethal! I cut my finger one time, whilst at my mother's, making dinner for her and her husband. I tried to keep it on the down-low, but after 15 minutes of the bleeding not stopping, I finally decided that just maybe I should go to the Emergency Room. Instead, she ripped up an old bed sheet and made a bandage with about 17 layers wrapped around it, so my finger looked very much like yours.

awesome video, gonna share it in my circles.
my family found out I had autism and OCD at a very young age, though my dad denied it my entire life. from first grade onwards, I was taught that I had to hide it because I would otherwise be segregated and treated like I had no potential. teachers who could spot it also knew to keep their mouths shut on it for those same reasons.
when a child has to fear potential segregation within a bureaucratic system and must hide aspects of themselves, I believe that that alone is horrendous.
I experienced emotional maiming by the hands of broken, abusive father figures, one of which was my alienated father, the other which was a stepfather who got my mom stuck financially for 14 years. my mom and I could only escape together in 2021.
my entire life, my sensory overload with autism and OCD was dismissed, ignored, disregarded, called wimpy/sissy, and my hyperfixations were annoying/irrelevant and nobody cared. while I learned to remove myself from myself, I was not an actor in this world, but an observer in a shell. I had autism, but I could not say it to any authority at school. I had OCD, but nobody cared when they wanted you to do something immensely filthy without proper gloves. I had difficulty in school because I wasn't safe at my two houses, but I couldn't talk about it because "at least my stepfather didn't beat us physically." I was not safe at home, I was not safe at school, I was not safe outside of fleeting moments. I had to escape into my hyperfixations, and I had to think on my situation, reframe myself from the position of someone experiencing abuse, into someone studying the social aspect of all of these abuses, and how to prevent this stuff from happening again.
I had found in my teenage years that the queer community's articulation of the family system as one of abuse to be explanatory, but I was rejected from utilizing that vocabulary to attempt to describe my own experiences at the time because we often view the usage of language to be appropriation, rather than the highest compliment. I have to remember that pain when my mom in the same way today grapples with understanding disability socially while incorrectly re-utilizing the language I have offered her over years, and I have to remind myself to clarify when a word or concept is different than how she is using it, but to most importantly try come up with a way for her to describe the different experience she is having with a new word, and legitimizing that word and its pain, instead of just dismissal.
I struggle to connect with people, sincerely. I struggle to keep it light. I struggle to know how to set and keep my boundaries. I struggle with feeling safe in relationships, worried that either I am annoying or that I am making a mistake and they're going to abuse me.
I can't access therapy that I need, because I practically need several specialists on several days a week, and I can't even afford one therapist.
the working class is so deeply emiserated, that we cannot meaningfully organize. I can't get people to meet up for a gamenight. people are perpetually too exhausted to even casually hang out.
I kinda went on a tirade since I'm typing this on my phone since my computer broke, but ig moral of the story is that within liberatory groups, fascism is the papertiger which the liberal snake uses to present itself as the better evil to guide us, and gives us every framework to hate each other instead of unify against our class oppression. liberalism continually seeks to take our struggles against racism, against ableism, against gender oppression and the family structure foundational to property relations, against so many things, and gives us frameworks which rob us of ability to ally together as a class, and dissolves our communities into merely disorganized identities.
and here's hoping we build a 21st century for us all. in our greatest suffering collectively, we can see the seeds for what can be, and this revolution will be one for the ages, which will not concern itself with being restricted within any nations or regions. and by the end of it all, the internationale will be sung in every corner of the world. maybe even updated, from a call to action, to a celebration of our gains and the memory of the fallen. we stand on the shoulders of giants, with the working class growing ever more united and connected across the planet.
    we got this 👍
    matter of when, not if

I read it all. I'm worried that your needing very specific language or needing very specific politics from the people around you is pushing people who might care for you (you have to be the judge of that) away while maintaining assertivity. Because I used to do that. I had someone years ago who I shouldn't have trusted convince me to let go of all family in an attempt for me to lose all my support structures, and I'm still rebuilding from the antagonism I latched onto. Building community (even a leftist one) is about compromise of not just the other but of yourself to accept the imperfect. I'm sorry its been so hard. I hope this helps because you can't wait until unity to be happy, you should seek what you can now because its a need to be fulfilled.

    • @avo478
      @avo478 5 дней назад

@@glowinggrenade I agree that I have struggled with pushing people away, but what I speak of today is not specific language, but rather a critique of the frameworks for how and when we legitimize struggles, because I worry that we have presently a conception of "a struggle is often treated as illegitimate until it's explained to me in full depth/commonly accepted as a struggle" without pursuit of investigation. it's imo a big part of why the feminist wave of the 2010's spiraled into a wall alongside the atheist movement when it delegitimized the trans struggle
on the losing social structures, I have had it a bit luckier at the very least. while I have lost family, it's also been the chance to get the time and energy to commit to being closer to the family and friends who do care about me, and is healthy. while it isn't enough, as we need wider social networks and communities, it's positive growth at least. and, I've made good connections in the marxist communities, with folks who have studied the american left tendency of leaving society to build their utopia and then slowly dying as they keep accidentally building cults because of the loss of social connections, even if explicitly intentioned to combat cult tendencies. so we gotta find focus on organizing spaces where workers can safely engage politically, minimizing and combating factors which alienate anybody who develops a radical outlook from their communities. since even if we organize with that common background against cults and cult building, we will functionally be collecting a bunch of vulnerable people into the opportune atmosphere for a few abusers to easily exploit it and take control
I am sorry to hear your experiences, but I do want to hear from you (if you are okay with divulging) about your experience with that manipulative environment, and whether there's any factors in hindsight (whether on a person level, organizational level, whatever has stuck with you) that you believe would be core to confronting cult building, or alternatively any aspect that you learned that you think is vital?
(sorry this message is disjointed, I'm stuck on an old phone for the meantime so it lags with every letter I type, and I can't reformat without messing more stuff up)

"Progress" and "security" are the subjugating promises of civilization in general, even though they are way more subjective than most are willing to acknowledge. i have spent my young adult hood blaming myself exclusively for my chronic suicidality. i dropped out of college early due to my lack of resilience to stress (i was also dealing with a horrible self induced ED, which fried my ability to retain information), i cannot work due to what i thought were personality flaws and mental incapacities, all of which have deemed me a "failure of society", thus leading to self alienation, causing my suicidality to increase. i genuinely believed i was born dumb and was doomed to fail from the start. i rebelled constantly and prided myself on my "nonconformity" to cope, but in reality i was so traumatized by being called a failure my entire young adult life that i had forced myself into hikikomori-ism- i never gave myself the opportunity to socialize and connect with my surroundings, as my innate inferiority would surely result in failure.
i had to take a step back for my own sanity and question the system's logic rather than fall into despair, and i was so relieved to see that others have linked their depressive states to capitalism. at first i thought this was just another pathetic attempt at cope, but thankfully i pursued research to the point where i could safely say that the system that had deemed me a failure had been the one to fail ME from the start. i should not have ZERO options only because i am innately more sensitive than others.
i am now working in sx work, and do not let others mock me into feeling shame for choosing this avenue as they know not of the excruciating pains i had to go through while trying to make every other option work for me. and jokes on dem, i make more in an hours worth of work than a corpie does in several days :ppppp
unfortunately i grew up with a mix of factors that never deemed political knowledge a necessity for me. years of devoting all of my energy into seeing the sun rise the next morning has frankly made it difficult for me to retain absolutely everything there is to know about socioeconomic alternatives and the basics of internet accessible evidence to quote if i were to actually be challenged about my anticapitalist ideology out of the blue. thus i have concluded that, due to the chronic state of my suicidality, i would give life up to the cause of changing things for the better if i had to. i am also adding anticapitalist reasoning in my note drafts but i hope to never contribute to a draft again soon! i read of this concept dubbed "revolutionary suicide" in huey p newton's book of the same title, it was so captivating to hear that my death could bring about some positive change!
so if anyone has taken the time to read this and has also had a period of being new to politics, would you please give me some tricks or resources i can use to hone my knowledge and make sure i have enough to contribute at my local socialist/anarchist/etc communities? i am still operating under the notion that i do not have much to offer, thus the revolutionary suicide mention, but i really want to change that and become as capable as my peers. thank you!
tldr suicidal anticapitalist looking for community. my IG is @k9drugunit if anyone would be so selfless as to reach out. i am in desperate need of guidance and any kind of support would honestly prolong my life.

What capitalism has done to society overall is actually horrible
And the worse part is that I don't think mankind has the ability to feasibly and successfully practice another economic system
    Capitalism might be our limit

I like your shirt. You made a lot of good points, but I got a counter to that. I mean there are loopholes and all of these rules too you know. Example? Number one, start a trust. Number two? Start an S corp. Doesn't even really have to do business. This would be otherwise known as a shell corporation and it's a way of legally hiding assets.

This is a good video, but the "What do we do about it?" part is very lacking. This actually is something that I feel like happens on most leftist Internet content, even on marxist content.
Lenin's contributions aren't just the deep understanding of Imperialism. Lenin invented a new technology to aid us in our struggle, and that technology was improved by the work of other revolutionaries. That technology is the Leninist Party. If we want revolution all over the world, we need to study Leninism and apply it. Part of applying Leninism is propagating it.
Just organizing isn't enough. Organization has to be done in a very specific way, which is the way invented by Lenin. Labor unions are good tools, but they are insufficient without a permanent vanguard to keep the revolution advancing even in moments of tactical retreat, or moments of temporary victories for the working class. For example, after a raise in salary is obtained through the mobilization of a labor union, the conditions are a bit better, but it is not enough for Socialism. The Party must take the improvement in conditions to advance the organizative effort, to educate the masses, to propagate Socialism and build power structures, not to demobilize militants, not to retreat, not to accept the crumbs which the bourgeoisie gives us.
_"Before Lenin and the Bolshevik Party, the proletariat was led by various reformist parties whose machinery was solely dedicated to parliamentary struggle. Today, however, is the dawn of a new period, a period in which the old parties of social reform cannot possibly lead the proletariat. Today, the party must educate the workers in the spirit of revolutionary struggle for power, of preparing and moving up the reserves, of establishing an alliance with the proletarians of neighboring countries, of establishing firm ties with the liberation movement in the colonies and dependent countries, etc. etc."_
~ _“The Party”, Foundations of Leninism,_ J. V. Stalin.

(Vampires) The human body, and other instances of a similar nature. We do not look at life as so essentially desirable that it must be prolonged at any cost, be it at what it may- and you, who are of that opinion, be assured, whoever you may be, that you will die none the less, even though you shall have lived in the midst of obscenities and abominations. ~ Gaius Plinius Secundus (AD 23/24 - AD 79), called Pliny the Elder

Corruption and materialism kill any system. Capitalism would benefit people if the market wasn’t corrupt and me and you weren’t little over consumers.

    • @jinclay4354
      @jinclay4354 4 дня назад

Power invents morals. Morals don't invent power.
Corruption is not a problem of Capitalism, it's a feature. It is necessary for Capitalism to survive, otherwise no business would survive the "free-market".
The market necessarily crashes periodically, but corruption makes it so the corrupt elements benefit from the crashes rather than suffer with them.
Also, perhaps you just don't know what "materialism" means, but, if you do, you speak of it in the same way that a certain mustache-guy and his minister of propaganda used to speak of it before industrially murdering millions of the "corrupt" and "materialist" elements of society (in their understanding, Jews and communists).

Seriously HOW has our country allowed things to get THIS bad, Yet Nothing is being done about it? How is it ok that Rent has become completely unaffordable.. There is no way anything can function like this. Rent for stores & for people's living situation is so out of control. Our country basically requires everyone to earn an Absurd amount of $ per year. Just to afford basic rent. Well that is completely impossible. It's not possible for everyone to earn enough so they can pay these insane rent prices. So all of these store fronts have become vacant. Average people cannot afford basic rent. There is absolutely no help for our citizens who are now stuck in poverty.. Yet anyone who comes here from another country gets housing PAID for. They receive money each week/month on top of that +more. So why do none of our citizens receive any help??
Related to our climate issue. At this point i think nuclear energy should be the main energy source we are using for our power grids. Then use our other alternative energy sources across the world in collaboration with that. This power source is the best option to improve our environment & it will really help lower our emissions. The only things holding us back is legislation and the ways fear mongering has effected people.
The more I've learned about our power grid, the more I've learned that modern nuclear energy options is our best option. Molten salt reactors, LFTRs, Thorium Reactors, Small form reactors. Utilizing our advanced technology, Improved engineering & material science. Utilizing our greater understanding of safety & well made designs. We have so much more advanced computer technology & robotics that can be used. It feels like even tho tons of advancement has occurred with engineering designs, safety measures, etc. It still doesn't matter to most people. It's like most people are ingrained with a natural negative response when talking about nuclear energy. It's a bummer because i truly believe that our best option for our future is to start utilizing Modern advanced nuclear energy options in our electrical grid. It's just proving to be challenging to get politicians to get on board.
It will really allow places to be much more energy independent. Less reliant on fossil fuels. They'll have efficient, stable electrical grids and the rest of the grid could experiment with alternative power sources, power desalination plants, etc.

It isn't "capitalism" although I'm no fan of our landlord economy, it is a group of people who hate us doing this and since everyone wants to ignore it then they deserve everything they have coming to them and doesn't matter which sort of system we have if we still have them within our mitts.
