    Hey ladies! I use to use mousse many moons ago, and it was ok. I can tell you for a fact that Cantu’s activator combined with their custard will keep your curls frizz free. Lord knows Summer in New York City is ruthless. LoriAnne, when my boys were young I would tell them that I was taking them to the doctor as we were walking out the door. Of course they cried while getting their blood drawn...I felt so bad. Idk about you, but I had to turn away each and every time they were inoculated. Ok, I’ve used the Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioner as well as Shea Moisture’s Manuka Honey Hair Mask. I highly recommend that both of you try Curls Blueberry Bliss’ Reparative Hair Mask. It runs circles around both of those products I mentioned. I’m glad you made it through your doctor’s visit TaylorAnne💓👍

    I have been using Mielle Organics Mousse to refresh my wash n go in the morning and it works great! I was surprised when I first tried it, so I bough some other mousses to try and discovered that not all mousses are the same. A mousse for a wash n go would never work for my kinky hair, but the Mielle Organics one does great for refreshing.

    I never thought to use foams until a few weeks ago my hairdresser used the design essentials one on me and I was pleasantly surprised😊 they are different than the foams of the 80’s which left the hair stiff. (Remember those days Lori Ann ( big rocker hair in the 80’s) lol anyway I love how the design essentials mousse made my hair have great curl definition. I have since bought the Mielle Organics babassu oil curl mousse and love that one also. These mousses have become a part of the arsenal. I guess it depends on what you want your hair to do. Anyway your hair looked great yet again.

      Kelsey T Thank you for taking us on your Mousse journey 🤣 No, I personally don’t remember the 80’s Mousse I was too busy frying my hair with a straightening comb 😂 but I do remember like the Vindy Laupers and Madonnas of the world with Mousse stiffened hair. These new generation Mousse’s (is that a word🤷🏽‍♀️) are far more moisturizing. Thank you for watching and leaving your feedback. 🤓🦁💕➰

    I love Moroccan Oil and Design Essential mousse. Like you said, it helps define and clump curls for those of us who have defining challenges. I combine my mousse choice w/ just a little bit of Ouidad Tress Effects gel and my curls are amazing. I always use a moisturizing leave-in underneath and I'm good-to-go for about 3 or 4 days. Love your videos.

    So I just big chopped for the 2nd time and my stylist used a layered mix of the design essentials leave in, daily lotion, then the mousse last. I will forever use a mousse. Gel is so hard and drying on my hair and the mousse defines my curls sooooooo much. I will be trying the cantu mousse because even though the design essentials is bae its not monthly bae. Like every 6 months bae. Thanks for this awesome video💜

    Back in the early 90's I had a friend that had beautiful tight long curls / waves... almost kinky and very blonde... she used mousse and really it looked BOMB... she didn't go crazy at all... got out of the shower, brushed her hair... that's right I said brush... tossed her head upside down applied mousse shook it and it was done.... I like Living Proof curl mousse. It was 28.00 but now you can get it at Marshall for 12.99.... it's very defining and moisturizing

      M.A.D.CURLS I'm off to watch your 2 other videos on mousse.... I used a different technique yesterday and today with a mousse that I got at Marshalls and OMG the results are BOMB! I've never had so much definition, and moisture, with barely any frizz...and the best part was my hair was soft and bone dry... it was nice to feel my scalp in a normal way again... without fuzz and crunch if you can understand that, I know it sounds crazy.... your video helped me formulate this technique.... the slip that was created was UNREAL... it worked 2 days in a row back to back... I co wash every day, Im going to be 50, you cant teach an old dog new tricks, and I still cant get a handle on second day hair with out looking a mess.... anyway, just wanted to share the experience this far and say thank you for making great videos! You just may have saved my hair journey as I was thinking about going back to flat ironing... it's certainly easier and the results are more predictable... but NOW ... I'm thinking keep on keepin on, I have finally experienced some success! THANKS AGAIN MAD CURLS!

    My favorite foam is the devacurl frizz free volumizing one but now I’ve heard Jane Carter’s wrap and roll foam can be used for wash n go’s so definitely gonna try that one. TaylorAnne, you should add your favorite oil to your deep conditioner, that works for me :)

    • @MADCURLS
      @MADCURLS  6 лет назад +1

      106andie I tried the Jane Carter foam years ago and it did not work for me at all. It was more of a foam for wrapping your hair. I used to wrap my hair when it was relaxed so that’s what her foam was geared for in my opinion. I’ve never tried the DevaCurl foam. Gotta try that. Thank you for commenting and sharing you’re thoughts. 🤓🦁💕➰ ps. Thank you for the extra advice for TaylorAnne’s DC.

    I love the Cantu Mousse so far because it does leave your hair crunchy, it’s very soft…however my hair is short and wavy its not long enough to clump the curls. And btw I have from high-end (CurlSmith) to lower end ( Cantù ) but if it leaves crunch or stiffens my hair I don’t like it….The Cantu I will definitely buy again!!!

  • @angelcarothers9993
    @angelcarothers9993 6 лет назад +1

    Hi Curls! Great review! I think, Taylor, that shampoo feeling you were experiencing is from an ingredient in the mousse. In the Curl Activator Cream - it's: propanediol; which gives that shampoo feeling, also (which I have experienced). So, I too, know what you are referring to when you say, 'it feels like shampoo.' I don't know if that same ingredient is in the mousse, but it might be a similar ingredient. Cantu gives me great first day hair, but after that I have to jump back in the shower, or do some heavy manipulation to make it look good for second day. It's great with the fluff factor, but the hold is minimal. So, you're not alone in that boat. Excellent information. You girls are great!!

But I may have to reconsider this because I am digging those results. I am curious how long that will last. Hummm, maybe I should try my DevaCurl frizz free foam again. Summer is coming and so is the east coast humidity......
    I was laughing so hard LoriAnne, when you talked about taking your children to the doctors office. I went through the same thing with my youngest daughter. I would not tell her where we were going and as we got close to the doctors office I could see the expression of terror come across her face as we pulled into the parking lot of the office. I have so much to say for this!! So first off, I've been using mousse for years and years, Finesse mousse in particular. It's getting hard to find so I buy it from target's website super cheap. I've tried other mousses but the problem was with the others that once I broke the cast they would get super flaky! With Finesse there are days that I use a little or a lot and it NEVER flaked, ever!! I never liked gel, I feel like my hair takes longer to dry so I haven't tried one in forever! Btw I apply Garnier seum before the mousse. When my hair is longer I can get up to four days out of it.
    Ok next, where's the matching color scheme? That threw me off Lol And hey, I think I came up with the WWLAD Lol and lastly, Tay.. my worst phobia is needles!!! Anxiety thru the roof each & every time and how exhausting to pretend I'm cool calm and collected whew!!

      Shawna Bona Tip #1 Patience. Tip#2 never compare yourself with others...it will literally drive you crazy. Now on to the more practical aspects of this hair growth. I take Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin and Nails vitamins. I deep condition my hair a Couple times a week . But, I think my hair just appears to be growing so much faster because you guys have been watching this journey. But it has recently picked up speed. I cut it in November of 2016 and I would say only in the last couple of months has it really shown this tremendous amount of growth. Once I got my hair shaped up in December it began to really grow into a cute shape. I believe haircuts are also an important part of hair growth. You have to let go of unhealthy dead ends. Hope this helps you. -LoriAnne 🤓💕➰

    Ladies I Love your results!!! I really like Foams!! I have been using the Design Essentials Mouse after seeing another You tuber tutorial, she used it with a Maui Conditioner under neath with the mouse, I get great results... it is a little bit more expensive so I don’t use it awhole lot... I’m so happy to hear Cantu has theirs because I Love the activator and use that as a refresher... so I’m going to have to pick up this Mouse, I’m a lil nervous using the mouse as a one and done... but I will try it because I’m loving the results you both got from it. I laughed out loud with the “style it and go sit down somewhere “ another great tutorial ♥️♥️ thanks Ladies !!!

    Hey ladies, I use to use "foam" lol and what Tayloranne is experiencing is a common thing, that shampoo feeling, and it like soaks and clumps the hair. But even after all that a lot of them don't really define the curls, or give much shine. So I'm curious to see what Cantu will do for u. Btw, love ur eyeshadow. I think foam is made for lighter textured hair. I'm not crazy about it. Like TaylorAnne said it seems to be drying. My hair is protein sensitive as well so I will not be able to use Design Essential's. I also think that if a person uses foam it should let your hair flow with the wind...lol. I use foam sometimes, but not too often. The Mane Choice has one in their Pink Lemonade Line, but I haven't used it yet for that very reason. Everything I use by The Mane Choice is great so hopefully that will be too. I'm also tender headed. Yeah TaylorAnne it's going to be a loooong month...there are 31 DAYS!!! LOL :-) BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I loved LoriAnne's scenario about TaylorAnne doctor's visit...the balloon or slap across face...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I love both of ya'll hair....Thanks TaylorAnne for you doing that. Our hair texture is really close...I will try the foam as a one and done....Have you ladies ever tried the Felecia Leatherwood brush? I LOOOVE it....It's really nice. I love both of your hair ladies. Thanks for the video.

    So would you guys recommend putting one of the leave ins underneath it or just by itself? I have both of the products you both used and I’m trying to see if I should just one and done it or not. I would prefer for it to give me more than one day. Any recommendations? Thanks!💕

    • @MADCURLS
      @MADCURLS  6 лет назад

      Tyanna Williams We tested each of our mousse both ways, with and without a leave in. If you are looking for your hair to have more moisture then we would say use a leave in underneath. If you want that lightweight feeling and lots of volume like we demonstrate when we are sitting in the car use the mousse alone. The test day showing our hair from different angles was done with a leave in and the curls are very defined and moisturized. So now, it just depends on what you are looking for. Hope these descriptions helped you out. 🤓🦁💕➰

    I loved loved loved Design Essentials Foam when I had my hair in a short tapered cut (around 3-4 years ago). Now that my hair is longer I didn't like it as much, probably because I added way too much junk before the mousse. I live in the caribbean (Curaçao) and it's basically summer all year long, and it is a lightweight product, less heavy option especially during the hotter months. I might try it again, got to be careful with the protein tho. Have you ever tried their curlforming custard?

    Auntie, I definitely think u need to go back to the salon & become Full Slab Sr….(hint TaylorAnne it’s Mother’s day for the whole month lol)…MB it’s definitely easier to see flaws in a product when u already have it in ur head that it’s not going to work. Foam is nothing but setting lotion w/oxygen…it’s job is to set & hold the style with out crunch. I use foam for everything from my roller sets (yes I straighten my hair😲..lol no worries, my curls are fine..no heat damage..I take care of my hair 🤯), 2 strand/flat twist, braids & my wash n go. In fact in the last few years I started using gel for my wash n go….I used to only use gel for slick ponytails/buns. DE is the foam I use 98% of the time. I’m fancy like u Auntie!! lol both of u had greatly defined results..that shrinkage is real lol I have yet to start my wash n go season. 😤These last couple of humid muggy days have been so disrespectful to my hair!! Had fun for the little while I was able to hang tonight!! 💜💜…..P.S- good job at the drs MB!!
