Just since a lot of people mentioned it I'll put this here: I know lockpicks and skelly keys don't spawn in the Mines, the video is trying to say that they should in order to give them more functionality as well as how they are implemented. Sure, it isn't necessary, but it would be a cool addition, especially with skeleton keys allowing you to unlock more buffs.
I see your point but it'd also be a shame to see the mines become an effortless snoozefest like the hotel did from the skeleton key, crucifix, and other additions.

But theres a features that bot everyone knows about the laser Pointer is that you can lute the gloombats to others rooms só you can use light sources whitiut getting damage (first i do warn you that is a bit buggy because if you don't get every gloombats following it you can still warn 1 of the gloombats and they can "comunicante whit eachother" and the others that you lured might come back to swarm you , and you dont get attacked bye then for using the laser Pointer just be carefull whit figure bc they can still hear you) Talking about it the deves didnt had and intention to make more uses for these itens tho the lockpick hás 3 uses that is opening chests opening the rooms and opening locked Doors , and the skeleton Key hás 2 which is opening the rooms and opening the hospital Room to get the cure effect. Spoilers: I think the skeleton key wouldn't fit the mines, but I think it'd fit the Castle (seen at the end of floor 2). Also not every item always needs a use. Especially because it can easily overcrowd your inventory as you only have 6 slots.
They could add a backpack item to solve that problem, and make every item usefull, lockpicks can open generators, and skeleton key give a specific buff as he mentioned.
A: they're adding a rooms-like sidequest later, meaning it might be useful in the mines for that. B: Just... drop your lockpicks in floor 2. Lockpicks are meant for LOCKS. Not GENERATORS.
Yea but items shouldn’t just be useless either. They could have setup a system to maybe trade with the tentacle guy or something, but an item made to have a use shouldn’t be useless due to reaching the seconds floor.

Like how figure isn't a large threat in the mines or how locks do not make sense in mines. Although your points are completely valid in bringing a use to it, it does not make sense for the location. Also since floor 3 is probably a castle, locked rooms will most likely return with the generator rooms removed. And if they add some subfloor, I assume it would come with its own unique item that gets the player to the subfloor. Just a note here: I think instead of speed being affected by the possible herb-like item, it should be some sort of night vision. Since the herb of viridis gives you health, it is very important for areas like the greenhouse with entities like screech and snare. In the mines, night vision could help you out against creatures like giggle. Also the backdoor update already introduced a speed upgrade and the new item that replaced the tablet also gives that upgrade. Just my opinion and yea.
They should add little rocks you can kick around for fun. It could also leave a possibility for a silly entity that is just a rock with googly eyes that could give you an achievement for kicking called Billy or something.
I don’t really agree with you too much. Mainly because you only get 6 inventory slots (not including fuse slots). So having 2 more items would completely ruin our inventory. My inventory is usually Bulklight, Flashlight, Glowsticks, Shears, Bandaid pack, Battery pack. I don’t even use the laser pointer, lighter or strap light at all because they basically unless at the start. Adding more items would ruin the inventory management of floor 2.
@@FunkletonJazz Glowsticks are quite a different light source, a permament and fix light source, perfect for doors where you must spend in some time, like 150, other than that they are just cool.
Shears get useless after room 50, you dont need them So using a other item would be better, plus if u have bulklight you do NOT need flashlight unless you wanna save its battery
More floors are coming to Doors. I would assume that in a future floor, the skeleton key and lock pick would have a new use. I think that it is fine that lock picks don’t have any uses in the mines. Also the doors devs have said they want to add a side quest to the mines, in the hotel the side quest there was the Rooms, so the future side quest for the mines might require the use of the skeleton key, like the entrance to Rooms does, and maybe it’ll still require lock picks.
That's true but that still makes bringing lock picks and the skeleton key from the hotel into the mines useless. Now that you can only hold 6 items at once no one is going through the entirety of the mines with basically only 4 item slots lmao. Other than that tho you right
By the way, if you use the Locked And Loaded or the Key Key Key Key modifier from the hotel and go to the mines in a continuous run, you can find locked doors in the mines, but no keys will spawn so you're basically unable to progress Also, being able to use modifiers from the hotel and going to the mines can make it impossible, for example, if you use Afterimage or back for seconds ambush can spawn unfairly

Considering part of the lockpick is literally an Allen wrench. I could kinda see you using the Allen to pop open a panel where you use the pick to bypass the fuses, hence you use it up. Also since the sewers are actually a kinda neat area, they could use the skeleton key to unlock a new wing of it as well. Kinda like how it unlocks rooms. If they don’t plan to do either, they can literally just do what they do with alarm clocks. It spawns in one room. And the second you leave, you just drop it as you don’t need it anymore. So dropping automatic useless items would save new people from going from floor 1, thinking the picks and key would do something. But with the new floor castle coming I think they will have a use there. Unless they make a new type of locked room with like drawbridge or levers. Who knows.
btw the herb of verb doesnt give you health randomly in gives you health every door you open thats why when i waited for 1 minute for it to heal i doesnt heal until i open doors
i think the first door skeleton key door should have an inventory upgrade that allows you to equip a couple more items so that way the skeleton key does not become something for 1 room
why talk about the lockpicks since its not even developed to be in floor 2. in my experience i havent seen a lockpick and anyone with it, and since they removed snares and heartbeat mini game the skull key will also be useless in the mines. lockpicks arent meant for mines.
imo, if the skeleton key was used, it should improve item luck, because outside of jeff's shop, and the pre run shop youll rarely ever find the bandage or battery pack, which are two of the most useful items in the game, so they should be made easier to find with some kind of magnet you could touch or whatever, and youll find more things like gold, items, etc...
I feel the shears can be used as lock picks. Tho not for doors, and really only in door 150, as they open shortcuts and safer routes. Tho this being for one door isn't really that useful, I feel a lot safer opening these shortcuts

Instead of lockpicks and a skeleton key for the floor two subfloor when it comes out, there could be vines covering one of those big generated powered doors. It would force you to find three fuses for the generator and also need a pair of shears. If you dont have the shears to cut the vines, the door would be stuck shut, unable to reveal the subfloor.
When you beat the hotel you get instantly put into the mines with all your items and stuff, meaning that you can bring lockpicks and skeleton keys into the mines. Dude, this is like saying they need to add those machines that add time in the back door, since they’d be useless in the mines and hotel. Basically, the lock picks cannot be found in the mines and don’t have a use, while you will have used your skeleton key to unlock the herb room, so it won’t be brought to the mines. The lock picks are similar, because many rooms got new un numbered rooms which have locked chests so you’ll probably already have used them.

the lockpick doesnt need a use in floor 2, at all, but the skeleton key is probably gonna have a use when the sub-floor for the mines is released, and even then, using lockpicks is required for the rooms, so perhaps youd need to bring both?
i wouldn't say its an issue at all but if you beat floor 1 with some lockpicks or skeleton key then it'd be nice to use it for something rather than having to ditch it because it has no use

Not every item has to come back for every floor, it changes things up slightly to make it less repetitive, you had the locked doors, now you have generators: less common but more stuff to find.

Apparently not lmao. If you look at one of their recent tweets they said they kept ramping up the difficulty of floor 2 because "they were getting used to the difficulty". And obviously having feedback from players is just as, if not more valuable than feedback from playtesters.

the lockpick doesnt need a use in floor 2, at all, but the skeleton key is probably gonna have a use when the sub-floor for the mines is released, and even then, using lockpicks is required for the rooms, so perhaps youd need to bring both?
i wouldn't say its an issue at all but if you beat floor 1 with some lockpicks or skeleton key then it'd be nice to use it for something rather than having to ditch it because it has no use
How would a generator function without fuses? How can a lockpick simply activate the generator by "hacking" it? It doesn't make any sense.

Dude, he obviously meant that you would be able to use the lockpicks in _some way_ to get fuses or whatever. He just used "hacking" as an example for whatever reason (a bad example but whatever)

Not every item has to come back for every floor, it changes things up slightly to make it less repetitive, you had the locked doors, now you have generators: less common but more stuff to find.
I think they're gonna add rooms Sector B as a subfloor in floor 2, so if that is true the skeleton key will have an use

the mines escape reward is also just 50 knobs same as all existing floors. so maybe dev might increase it to atleast around 150 knobs?

i feel like the lockpick or skeleton key are ment to be rifted at the beginning of mines since they server no purpose in mines so you dont have to buy lock picks from pre run on hotel the doors team did say there gonna add a alt path like they did with rooms in hotel after release so the skeleton key would still have a use and could possibly be found in jeffs shop once added

Apparently not lmao. If you look at one of their recent tweets they said they kept ramping up the difficulty of floor 2 because "they were getting used to the difficulty". And obviously having feedback from players is just as, if not more valuable than feedback from playtesters.

The lock picks are not meant for the mines it’s meant for floor 1 when have you seen a locked door in a real mine and skeleton key is also meant for floor 1……

Bro just complaining about that there is no skeleton door at 2 floor but lol, why cant you beat 1 floor and get your verb effect then come and beat 2 floor, so you will have verb effect. And about locks are same, you CAN bring them to the mines, but there is no reason to use them, the mines are mean to be not a such long gameplay, cuz its long already. Like bro fr complaining about that he cant beat 2 floors in a row instead of 1. You talk in context that you beat only 1 floor instead 2 in a row and complainin that there is no skeleton key, bruh.

i think they should add a minigame that you have to complete to open a generator room without finding fuses. that way, you can’t just skip generator rooms very fast.

Cutscenes are laggy I die to seek (floor2) after 2 doors and I die in door 100 instantly unable to enjoy the experience like before the update🥲
That's the doors servers lagging, unless you have a terrible internet tho.
