Kaleidos Helium Circulator Test Milestone

- Radiant discusses our latest technical milestone: performance testing of the Kaleidos helium circulator at full pressure and temperature. The helium circulator is a centrifugal impeller machine powered by a hermetic motor. Helium was chosen as the primary loop coolant gas thanks to its high specific heat capacity and safety benefits, including a its zero neutron absorption cross-section. The circulator and Kaleidos have been designed to operate for 20 years, with a maintenance interval aligned to core refueling at Radiant's factory.
Radiant is developing Kaleidos, a portable 1.2-megawatt gas-cooled microreactor, as a replacement for diesel generators. All components of the compact design are packaged in a single shipping container, making rapid deployment to remote locations or for disaster relief locations possible. Kaleidos is one of three microreactor designs aimed to test in the Department's NRIC DOME - the world's first microreactor test bed. Fueled testing is set to begin as early as 2026. (edited)
Cost, Availability, maintenance upkeep, these are the things I want to know.
It's still an R&D project so they have a long ways to go before figuring that out.
Love the incremental development process with these videos, still have a long way to go but I appreciate the early engineering era of this project, never stop
I'm loving these new showcase videos
Are you accepting early backers?
Mr Beast or some other large RUclipsr needs to spend some money on projects like this.
Why stop at building water wells and homes when energy production is still a massive problem
@@tall_lad governments should give us all tax breaks and let us fund these projects directly.
Keep us updated, please! Godspeed!
Great video, keep up the good work.
I need more videos Man!
What kind of mechanical integrity program do you have? I think that piping would fall under ASME B31.1 for new construction. Do you have an in-service program?
Any plans opening to public investment on the market?
Awesome 🎉
How do we invest?
There is something important you musk know Rakmhsu and Aurak.
I have 63,000 ready to invest , where can I start lol .... I'm being for reals
Does not explain why Helium. (AFAIK...)
I believe helium is very thermally conductive but does not become radioactive like water, so a safer medium for heat exchange
I also would like to understand. It must be for various reasons. And I would like to hear all of them.
doesn't absorb neutrons
Make more videos
So Radiant is the Ocean Gate of reactors. No thanks.
I really hope not
