    Thanks for making these videos. I have always wanted to learn this deck and play it and finally decided to order the cards and build it on MD too. I have been having a blast and these videos help me get better!

    I just scoop to Mathmech if I go second since they can FTK, but after seeing that subpar endboard of just barrrone and the popper, I think I’ll only scoop once I see Auroradon.

      I assume you mean SHS? It really depends on what variant of the deck they're running and which starters they have. I don't find most SHS boards unbeatable unless they have Naturia Beast, but this season I've queued into the handrip variant a bit and haven't seen an FTK variant once. A lot of them going for Apollousa also helps since it doesn't trade well into Widow Anchor. The inconsistency with the builds people play makes it slightly annoying since you don't know if they're on an average version that you can beat or some clown variant that wastes your time because you didn't draw enough hand traps.

      @@auctaway: Oh yeah, I meant SHS. It’s annoying that you need to draw handtraps in order to combat them, but if there are endboards you can deal with, then that sounds promising. I just assumed that every SHS deck ftk’ed if you didn’t handtrap them earlier enough. That should make the deck a bit easier to play against.

    Hi, please tell me why did you summon token in the battle phase

    • @auctaway
      @auctaway  10 месяцев назад

      It doesn't matter in this situation, but it's just a habit.
      Even if I didn't get what I wanted accomplished in the BP, I generally like using the token there because I will get the first action of summoning Kagari in MP2 to play around any sort of MP only effects (something like Spright Elf summoning Spright Red from grave).

      @@speechless1887 Cards like LS, Raigeki, Duster, Afterburners, Jamming Waves, HAMP, etc do nothing going first and are dead draws. It isn't hard for good decks to push past one Striker body and maybe two targeted monster effect negates, but it is hard for them to do this if you've already broken their board and depleted their resources. With the goal of the deck being to run the opponent out of resources, the extra draw from going second is a valuable resource that you can't let the opponent have. If the deck has more inherent advantages going second it is better to build for going second in a best of one because you get to win the coin flip more than 99% of the time.
      This is just my opinion on the deck though and I'm sure some people have success going first.

      "Standard" Sky Striker builds nowadays focus on breaking boards before locking down the game with their backrow. This plays around losing your established setup to an opponent's backrow removal if they're planning for dealing with popular "Going First" backrow decks like Labrynth, Traptrix or Runick/Stun setups. The extra card for going second and the ability to soften up the board with Hand Traps before breaking it is also nice.
      That's not to say you CAN'T run a "Stun Striker" build with some Counter Traps, TCBOO, a Kaiser Colosseum, Grave of the Super Ancient Organism and Five-Rainbow Magician, but those are often TERRIBLE at going second without specific hands so I personally wouldn't(outside of Kaiser Colosseum NOW AT 1 those are also your best floodgates for going second with). But if you tend to either get heads or going second opponents a lot those ARE a viable option. Even the Bystial Control variant I like using is something I prefer to go second with so I don't have to worry about getting hit by Duster/LS right after setting up, if you want to go first with that engine use the Runick engine since that can throw out Huginn as a contingency and can make more than Chaos Angel as a Synchro option(Roze + a lvl 6 Bystial sets an annoying bungus on the board that requires actual backrow to get rid of).
      Certain "engine" builds are also fine for going first because they can either set up specific Counter Traps consistently to protect their backrow like in the case of "Orcust Striker Tearlaments"(which has two Counter Traps to potentially work with, and I:P Dingirsu for destruction protection is also fine if you use Babel), or a huge annoyance to set up like Ariseheart or the BLS Link monster in the case of "Kastira Adventure Striker" that you can protect with said backrow to make even harder to get rid of than usual(Eagle Booster is great for this, and when you're done with your bungus you can tag it out with Linkage or something if you want).
      Those mentioned two are brews I made up using my personal experience running those kinds of decks, and I don't think they're better than the standard "Going Second" builds either, so I usually just climb low ladder with them for a quick change of pace.
      Once the FULL Snake-Eyes engine and the rest of the new Striker Links come out(Diabellestar/Sinful Spoils at least provides ONE potential instance of backrow protection now with the Trap while getting a bunch of Spells in grave quickly to power your Striker engine), THEN I can say there's a decent build that can go first. But I still think even that one is better for going second with since one of the new Link monsters is a potential board wipe, and running 2-3 engines like this is great for exhausting negates before dumping a Kurikara and proceeding to OTK/lock the board.
