I would personally just use Imperm and/or Ash if you feel that Gimmick Puppet is a problem. Ash has the benefit of also being great at stopping Tenpai if they hit you with Lightning Storm or something.

It's probably good in Trickstar, but could be hard to make work in Striker unless you pick to go first. Although if you run Droll, you can probably get the full hand banish off often enough

Also, I would probably want Dharc in the extra too, and there might be too many board breakers. I really don't like giving advice on stuff like this since I haven't tested a pure version on MD in a while, so I feel unqualified on the subject.

@ So board deck deck . Sounds to me a lot more efficient than HTs . I will give it a try. The only reason i asked is because you have played pure Striker in the past (i think)

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also not really a fan of a lot of their recent decks where card quality matters a lot more than player skill (Tenpai, Gimmick Puppet, etc). I would hate for Striker to wind up like one of those decks.

TY-PHON unfortunately feels so necessary in the current MD environment with the amount of people on Dragoon or whatever random nonsense they choose to run. The game doesn't feel like previously where including him was a tech option at best.

The versatility he has in Striker is really great for situations like that. Just the extra piece of removal without ruining your main monster zone is amazing.

It's really nice that even if it isn't the strongest going first, Aqua Angel lets you know what you have to play around if Tenpai sends you first. The Trickstar cards keeping the strength similar to a board breaker version when going second is also extremely helpful.

Not really the ideal starter and I wouldn't play more than 1. It's awful into Maxx "C" and you really only want it when need it to extend, make a Link-2, play around Nib, or have it be the 3rd spell in grave in a Hayate/Kagari line. You could probably use it in some other version of the deck or in something like Orcust (or Maliss when that gets added), but for pure or near-pure Striker variants, I don't running multiples will be that helpful. The deck isn't that common outside of a select few players in high rated elo. After checking the descriptions that have games against it, the following videos have Branded games: S34P2, s34 extra, S32P1, s31 end, extra2, and a bit of the older videos where it was more common on ladder

I wouldn't say so. It's certainly not garbage, but it's very weak going second due to reliance on hand traps and vulnerability to interruption. Definitely more of a "for fun" thing.

I already reached DLv max by switching between Striker and Trickstar. There was only like one interesting game as Striker, unfortunately. The first stage is generally really easy since ranks aren't taken into account, so it probably isn't the best gameplay

The deck is too fun to give up on, even if it is not that great in the current meta

This is probably the worst meta they've had since VFD Virtual World and Adventure Tenyi with Halq. I'm glad it made you want to play again, even if I personally wouldn't recommend currently playing this game to anyone

Striker is definitely the most fun deck. The Trickstar cards are nice since people seem to hand trap them if you don't reveal any Striker cards. Light Stage dealing with backrow also works really well since I didn't really have room for Duster/LS in this version.

I really love the music on the original series

Only affects draws and the initial check, so it's possible to win against it sometimes

While it is enjoyable to win games like this, I don't think cards like EEV, Secret Village, Anti-Spell and so on should be legal in the first place. Those cards exist solely to ensure winning going first by turning off entire game mechanics. I don't think anything outside of heavy banlist hits would get anyone off of Tenpai unfortunately. Striker Orcust might be cool, though. The Orcust support that's coming out is nice and having both Mermaid and those cards in MD eventually will be nice.

I agree with most of this. Ladder is pretty varied so you can get away with running blind second if you want, but not in high elo unless you have exceptional luck. Tenpai ruined the meta for Striker in the sense that everyone is on pseudo-FTKs or counter trap/floodgate piles. You could play something like the going first version I used at the end, but it's honestly not that enjoyable since it removes a lot of the skillful elements of Striker that make it fun. The ways you have to gimp your deck to have a good Tenpai matchup as blind second with cards like Threatening Roar feels awful. I personally don't enjoy MD much at all anymore and very much prefer playing TCG or even OCG with friends, even to the point that I probably won't even bother with the other half of this video or DC at all this month.

@@cnydo I've tried that version a bit and it's strong if you go first, but losing the board breaking potential hurts a lot. Also matchups that were previously great going second become obnoxious when you lose to coin flip. The advantages of beating Tenpai most of the time, having a chance against Voiceless/Secret Village decks because you get to go first sometimes, and games generally being faster because you don't have to watch everyone's combos are nice. I personally don't find it enjoyable though since Ken/Gen losing to Imperm is annoying and just hand ripping and setting Solemns isn't really the type of gameplay I find satisfying, even if it is stronger and more viable than blind second at the moment. The last two games in this video are with the Ken/Gen version

@auctaway going no hts atm is just suicidal with all the ftk, or pseudo ftk with melodious, infernity shs, stardust cent, wf, chimera diabellze, gp

I personally don't like Orcust Striker and I think the Horus version is way better. Either way, Mermaid is a pretty good boost until their new support comes out. I still don't except it to change much with the deck, though.

I understand how you feel. Even when you win against it, it really isn't satisfying because of the gameplay involved.

@ Yeah, its either you realize you can't stop them anymore or you do interrupt them and they give up. Its nothing really anything skill based.

I think I got a little lucky with the guy banishing one of my Links with S:P instead his own monster, but it was still really hard to win that one

Unfortunately, that probably won't happen since the 2014 event ended in MD. The deck really isn't viable in the modern game

That's the one era of the game I skipped out on and I kind of regret it, but I had to for college. I've been playing the game from the start otherwise and didn't do most of the Link era up until Master Duel's release.

It was a great time to play the game

It's a shame it isn't viable anymore, but I feel the idea of its game plan lives on in Striker
