- Inside of the concentration camps of the Second World War, there were some horrific and sadistic guards who were known for being torturers and executioners. Anton Thumann was close associates with the Commandant of Auschwitz Rudolf Höss and also Josef Kramer the Beast of Belsen, but he became known as the Hangman of Majdanek. He carried out executions inside of the camp, and drove thousands to their deaths inside of the gas chambers. At the end of the war he was sentenced to death and was executed inside of Hamelin Prison.

It is astounding that many of those former SS guards who tortured and murdered prisoners at concentration camps during the second world war had no remorse for their abhorrent crimes against humanity, even when they faced execution after being tried and convicted of those atrocities. May the victims of those monsters rest in peace, never again to suffer at their hands. Thank you for this eye-opening video of yet another war criminal who met justice at the end of a hangman's noose.

Majdanek was an extermination camp.
No! It was not an Extermination Camp. Mostly for work in the camp and factories nearby including aircraft parts. There was a gas chamber but not used for the bulk of prisoners.
Towards the end someone ordered the shooting of the Jewish prisoners and thousands were shot.
When the Russians took Majdanek they said 1.5 million people had died there.
The Official Polish figure now was 70,000 deaths
