HybridTrain: Spinning Seat Upgrade for MACK Coaster

- Watch our engineering team as they prepare, install and test the new gondolas of our Megacoaster trains.
This summer we tested a new spinning seat feature to be included in our newest launch coaster project for Dreamworld Theme Park in Australia. With our own playing field we used the after-park hours to mount our newly designed upgrade to the back car of one of the trains. After all visitors left the park we then had enough time to test ride the installation.
This feature can be equipped on many of our launch, mega and hyper coaster trains that are already in operation around the world and those to come in the future.
The spinning speed can be controlled by magnets in the seat itself so that the ride is thrilling but still fun. Depending on the weight distribution each ride will be different for our guests.
We look forward to our first installation of the HybridTrain in Australia!

It’s weird that they didn’t just use the actual spinning train MACK made for the coaster because when they tested out the spinning car for time traveller it was tested on here

See, this is why it’s ingenious to be a ride manufacturer that also owns their own park. You can test new train ideas on an existing ride and get a real feeling for what it’ll be like.
Looks like a sweet way to spice up a traditional Mack Launch coaster. Looking forward to the future use of this new development.

Having ridden this at Dreamworld yesterday, I can confirm it is absolutely insane and one of the best things to happen to a coaster train in years! Awesome work!

Ich weiß nicht, was besser ist - das neue Produkt oder das Marketing. Absolut genial produziertes Video, Filter/Schnitt/Musik - top.
Schade um die leicht verminderte Kapazität, aber ich denke, dass diese offenen Drehsitze ein ganz anderes Fahrgefühl bieten als bspw. die Wagen von Time Traveller.

@@restless5996 its aready confirmed that the back spinning car is part of dreamworlds new blue fire clone, this was the initial test of it according to the bio of this video
@@restless5996 this is most likely for the coaster coming to australia, they are getting a cloje of this but with a spike and a tripple launch and the back car is gonna spinn.
@@restless5996 Dreamworld is confirmed to be getting a Blue Fire clone that will have these spinning seats. Mack even mentioned this in the video description.
I can't imagine the level of disorientation going through a corkscrew while spinning. Need to mount the spinning cars on a 4D train too for yet another axis of confusion.

I like the floorless aspect of them. It doesn't look like they spin quite as much as Time Traveler's trains though. I assume it's because the seats aren't back to back, so there isn't more weight to spin the seats.

Time Traveller is the very best Mack Rides roller coaster. Now, many Mack coasters can be as good!

Oh my God, the description says that it can go on Mack hyper coasters as well. DC Rivals or Flash with spinning seat. Imagine the drop and non inverting loop

You'll probably need to get out to Australia since this is just a test for the one that is coming permanently to Aus and isn't likely to stay on blue fire. You never know tho.
@@seugoi7460 Ah, fair enough - do you know if all the seats will rotate on that are just certain ones like for this test. Might be interesting to give guests the choice!
@@IndependentGuides The coaster coming to Australia will only have one spinning car. This entire concept was made for just one car to be spinning so I think the full train spinning will stay exclusive to the original extreme spinner model.

Why do the spinning cars have seatbelts whereas the normal ones don't?
Sometimes, they are just added to increase the perceived safeness of the restraint.
I assume, they just wanted to add another layer of security as this is a prototype - but it looks like the restraint as for those regular blue fire wagons, so they might drop the straps later.
Silver Star had a tiny belts to secure the restraint at the beginning as well, but were later dropped.
