Hi again Nina! Those little baskets look so cute. I use a lot of lava rocks too, especially for big hungry roots like vandas and Cattleyas. Their coarse nature retains moisture but also excess fertilizer! For the delicate tolumnia roots, I use fine charcoal shards in slotted baskets, which I place in a clay pot! The clay pot may be sitting in some water for extra humidity in summertime. The new ones are still on the wooded mounts they came in, I just replaced a bit of the stale moss. And I try to use rain water to rince out the ferts.
Hi Anne 😃🤗💐 I'd like mine to be potted up... it would help for me to be more effective with who gets how much fertilizer. So... space is the issue and carting them in and out for 4 months of the year. I am going to not fertilise for a month and then only 100ppm within a separate sprayer designated just for them. I may loose some, but maybe I caught my mistake just in time! 🤞🏼 Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! 🌸
Hi Cheery!! 🤗💐 woohooo!! I hope that you get your's very soon!! Do NOT repeat what I did 😅 I almost killed mine because I was being too 'nice' with the fertiliser! I look forward to seeing your's when they arrive!! 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️👍🏼 Thank you so much for taking the time to watch 🌸
Hi Nina! I have to tell you I have 4 tolumnias that are spiking! Also ...one Vanda and 2 Phals. Yay!! I have my tolumnias mounted on clay squares with spagnum moss. I just mounted 9 new ones and I’m crossing my fingers for them.
Number 5!! Hi!! 🤗💐 tolumnias... spiking.., 4??!! That is amazing 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️ Vanda, Phals, but hey... its all kicking off now 😃👏🏼 Looking forward to hearing how your little pocket rockets develop! Thank you for taking the time to watch, I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful day, Joy! 🌸
Hi Ed! 🤗💐 I think I will manage to resurect most of them... I am not the heavy waterer, but I like to feed my guests when they come to my home, so... that is where I went wrong this season... they got too much 'chakula' (food in Swahili) ... now they are on a diet and for some, it will come just in time, for others, I hope they understand and will turn around and feel better and grow again. Thank you so very much for watching, Ed. Have a wonderful start to the week! 🌸
Tolumnias: so cute, so charming, such a PITA! 😂 I finally gave in, mounted mine on a ninja/Michael inspired mount, and it spiked but it’s slower than a twinkle! Yours are so darling in the baskets. I love seeing them ❤️
Hi Melissa!! 🥰💐I never thought they would throw a strop ... they were so 'easy' these past years... but, I have been shown differently and boy was I careless just going with the norm regarding fertiliser with these guys! Yep, spikes on these guys sneak up on you fast, but then it takes forever for them to come un to their own... a looonnngggg time of being ever so careful so as to not snap the darn things the longer they get 😅 I hope I can film something to be proud of in 6 months... sorry little result this summer 🤦🏼♀️ live and learn. They are on a diet! Thank you so much for watching Melissa, I really appreciate it!! 🥰🌸
Thank you for sharing your Tolumnia collection. I have battled with scale on one of my phals but I think I have won the battle. It is amazing how one day they are not there then the next day it is there. They just come in so quickly. Anyways my fingers are crossed that these three will show you that they want to stay. As well as other orchids that you mentioned. I love your videos and have learned a lot. Have a great day.
Hi K P! 🤗💐 Well... the scale on phals are quite the revelation and I have had exactly the same experience... literally, out of the blue and I have lost a phal because of that this season, I actually did not see them until I saw yellow leaves at the stem, and decided to take a look. They never ventured beyond the stem, so I was completely oblivious until it was too late. My purple gem landed in ICU because of the same problem and they take them down fast! I will keep trying, especially now that I realise that I was a 'tad' radical on the fertilizer this season... d'ooohh!! 🤦🏼♀️ Hope you are having a great day as well. And I really appreciate your feedback in the comments' section, thank you so much 🌸
Hi Gabrielle 🤗💐 I love these little baskets as well, .... so... now, I am going to get it right and make them shine in those baskets. They deserve better, than someone throwing fertiliser at them at a rate of knots! 🤦🏼♀️ Thank you so much for taking the time to watch 🌸
I got two tolumnias (bare root) about a year and a half ago and immediately mounted them thinking that's just how they grow best (no experience to back that up 🥺). I expected to see roots climbing all over the bark but eventually I realized they were in a dangerous state of decline and out of desperation I posted on a Tolumnia Facebook group for advice. One response that resonated with me advised to put them in net pots with large pieces of charcoal. Her pics looked fabulous so I immediately changed their set up. That was seven months ago and now they've both rebounded beautifully. Every morning I flush with pure water - with a very low ppm feed about once a month. My first thought when you explained your daily routine was that they were being over fertilized. The lava rock is a great medium and it won't collect the dangerous level of salts with pure water flushes. You've got a beautiful collection. I hope they all respond to your care and love. 🥰
Hi sej 🤗💐I would love to have these potted up, but then, where would I put them in the summer. BUT, if they do not recover because lava rock apparently does them no good.... which is rubbish, ... it is my too much fertilising that has taken them down... I may opt to try charcoal. 👍🏼 I have to get the excess minerals off the lava rock and then not fertilise as if they were vandas!.... What was I thinking?? .... Well, clearly, I was not thinking 🤦🏼♀️ I appreciate your intel on the charcoal, sej, thank you so much! I am not on FB so, I went by what I was seeing on Blogs and the OrchidBoard forum. 3 years later, .... the conclusion is, time for a Tolumnia Diet 😬 I hope you are having a wonderful start to the new week. Thank you so much for watching 🌸
@@NinjaOrchids Those white baskets are adorable and very practical. If it were me I would just replace the lava rock with large pieces of charcoal....but I think that less fertilizing is the key. They could still remain in the lava rock at this point. Let us know how this progresses. BTW I only go on FB occasionally for "orchid group" info and then deactivate immediately afterwards 🤣 I am active on Instagram though.
I have to get back to being more diligent on my instagram account. Since starting YT and having to learn so much in order to keep up, I have totally ignored my instagram, which is not a good thing. Are you sej there as well? Have we connected there yet and I am not aware of it? If so, I do apologise! 🌸
@@NinjaOrchids my account is @suz.iana (Susan Jensen). We haven't officially connected yet but I've looked you up and see that your account is private. If you decide to post again let me know and we can coordinate following each other. That would be fun. Have a wonderful day 😊
I grow my Tolumnias in holy clay pots with spagnum moss and orchid seedling mix. They seem to like it. I have one mounted and it’s doing well. But mine are grown indoors year round in south windows. You may want to drench your potting medium with insecticide soap if scale insects persist.. 🤗🌺
Hi Shirley 🤗💐 yep... I am going to do an epsom salt soak, remove the excess minerals and give them a once over with insecticide on another day. It is too cold to be messing with a lot of moisture at the moment. Consensus of this video is, I has waaaay to heavy on the fertiliser, so... that is easily solved and I hope they will forgive me for mistaking them for vandas 🤣 Thank you so very much for taking the time to watch. I wish you a wonderful Sunday 🌸
Hi Maykel 🤗💐 you know what...? I was growing them as if I was growing vandas... way too much fertiliser! So, if you have one, do not copy what I do 😬 They are going on a diet! Maybe I should join them 🤣 I have been hitting Christmas chocolates ... comfort food.... been a little too much into the Christmas chocolates, so... I will join my tolumnias on a diet 🤣Thank you for watching, Maykel. Have a wonderful Sunday 🌸
@@NinjaOrchids i knew they are no heavy feeders 😉 I learned from roger that twig epiphytes get their moisture from early morning fog and air humidity so fairly clean water. Strange thing is they live in the caribbean islands and i would have guessed they could take quite some salt as they live on ocean islands. Thankfully i first saw rogers tolumnias before i bought my first one 😉 Have a nice sunday and don't diet to much, gotta keep enjoying the good stuff 😁
🦒!!! Yeah, not too bad, though. Several spikes on the way, that is great!!! Maybe that is the way Tolumnias grow... a bit fussy on the leaf front... Considering the succulent type of leaves they have I would expect them to be nice and fleshy all the time... I do not really understand them and from what I have seen from other growers they are not easy plants to grow. They would be lovelier if they would keep their leaves nice and tidy but apparently they don't. I had only one for 3 years, very small when I got it, it grew two fans, nice leaves and then, when I was thinking of buying a couple more it when down hill for no apparent reason. No bugs, no changes in care. She just said "goodbye, don't buy anymore" and that was it 😔 Looking forward to see the blooms on yours and good luck with all of them🤞🤞 Have a pleasant day my dear friend, mingi mingi hugs 😍🤗🤗🤗
FFF 😘🥰🤸🏼♀️🤗🌸 reading some of the comments, and after watching my video back once it uploaded, I looked at it as if they were not mine and came to the conclusion that the roots look burnt, and the leaves had signs of over fertilising... the comments support that theory. What was I thinking? 300 ppm daily during the summer 🤦🏼♀️ did I want them to grow to the size of mini vandas? Silly! Just silly! I hope that i can reverse the trend. Soak in some epsom salts and hope to remove some of the excess mineral build up. They did well last year, so... I just kept going... lesson learnt! Most of them arrived mislabelled as well, so, basically I know of only 3 that are correctly labelled. I am done trying to ID the others because it is so difficult with tolumnias. It's like Forrest Gump and his box of assorted chocolates, you never know which one you get. 😅 Dull day here today, but thankfully, no wind. I have to match my indoor and outdoor temperatures because I want to bring the angraecoids in and NOT loose the spikes. Have to wiggle my way around some filming as well, so... it will be a little bit of a tester of a day. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my trials and errors of abusing my tolumnias. I hope that your Sunday is going to be relaxing and all your fur babies are doing well, meine liebe Freundin ❤️🌸
@@NinjaOrchids 🦒!!! I am glad you found out the cause of burnt leaves. I could not see the burnt roots but I watched your vídeo on my phone. Many details are not so obvious. I noticed what seemed salt residue on the lava rock in fact. However if some are doing well and blooming why not the others? Anyway, it is true, the roots are so thin they may not withstand high feeding all the time. It is not easy though having to prepare different types of care and when we want to simplicy we make it harder instead. It is cloudy here, some sunshine in between the showers but it is cold. I should water the orchids inside the house 🤔... hum, I might do some ironing instead and tell the orchids to wait till tomorrow, hopefully warmer day. 🤗🤗🤗
These little beasts are much happier when they have no media at all. I think they are pretty much twig epiphytes. They like to grow bare on anything. I tried mine originally in small stones inside terracotta pots. They hated the stones. They dont need to be fed at that amount every day. Don’t think they are heavy feeders at all. Mine get no more than 100-150 ppm and then only once every couple of weeks. I now mount them on terracotta slabs from Schweitzer’s and they grow like weeds on them. Some I have mounted bare on the mount some have a little sphagnum moss around the roots. I keep some in the warm house and some in the intermediate house but they should tolerate most temps and can go down cooler than I grown them I believe. I also had some small holey clay pots that I sat the surviving ones I had and left them, pretty much grow or die one or the other I am done with you. They are growing on the bare terracotta. In my experience they just go darker if they have too much sun but you aren’t exposing them to direct sunlight so should be good. But, if I was you, I would take out all but a couple of bits of the lava rock and leave the roots exposed to the air. Having said all that I know Akerne Orchids in Belgium grow all theirs in a medium bark mix and they grow like weeds for them as well. I always change them over because I water too heavily. May not be much help but some ideas none the less.
Hi Lynn 🤗💐 the non media thing is certainly very tempting.... and I would totally go for it, but I think of the 4 months during which they have to be carted in and out and thought the baskets would do just nicely. And, if this nincompoop had not just gone and fried them with too much fertiliser, then i am sure I would have a totally different result this season. Their first years with me, it seemed to have no adverse effect, so ... 🤷🏼♀️ but I see the signs, read the comments and am ok with getting a third spray bottle of diluted solution for them alone. I will look at what I can remove, good idea, thank you, and soak them in Epsom Salts on a warmer day than we have been having, but yes... removing some lava rock will be very beneficial. I would like to get more, as I have some empty baskets to fill, but will not do so until these guys recover and I do them justice! I appreciate your informative comment, thank you so very much, and for taking the time to watch. 🌸
I tried many different systems including semi hydro and they hated it! I’ve just thrown out my last of about 15! I think I’ll stick with other orchids. They’re so cute though. 😢
Hi Trisha 🤗💐 I would love it if they could do well for me in SH... maybe I got the ratio of leca size wrong, maybe seramis would have worked, but I am not going to change anything now, with the exception of reducing fertilizer drastically. Seems like the main consensus of trusted viewers was that I am killing mine slowly by over fertilising and that really resonates with me from what I see when I look at them through the lens that 'they are not mine'. So, 🤞🏼that I have time to reverse the trend! Thank you Trisha for taking the time to watch... I used to have 19, and they are slowly dwindling... need to reverse the trend 🤞🏼
My one and only isn't doing anything but then I only got it to try it out and see if we get along. I am undecided but am unlikely to get anymore, it just doesn't tick the right boxes for me. I may tie it onto a grapevine stick in spring if things don't pick up. I use SB plant invigorator (mild insecticide soap) on most of my orchids once a week as a preventative measure and if I find anything crawling then they get drenched and placed in isolation. Thanks for sharing
Hi Patricia 🤗💐 i will look into that SB product you mentioned. It would be good to have another insecticide in the arsenal, to alternate with the one I have. Thank you for taking the time to give me a heads up and for watching. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday 🌸
Hi 🤗💐 comments have solved what I was doing wrong.... I was heavy on the fertiliser! If that is the problem, then it is easily solved and I just hope that they haven't turned 'that' corner. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and enjoy your Sunday 🌸
My Tolumnias usually flower when it gets chilly outside and the temps in the room I am keeping drop below 13 degrees C at night. Your Tolumnias look a bit overfertilised to me, especially too much Nitrogen results in soft and weak growth if you do not give crazy amounts of Potassium and Calcium. And 104°F are too hot: above 90°F, 32C it becomes hard for the plant to transport Calcium in the leaves and new growths which results in reddish or black soft spots at the leaftip.
Hi Leonard 🤗💐 you are absolutely right regarding the over fertilising... totally agree! When I watched this video back once it was uploaded, I thought to watch it as if it was someone else's collection who was asking for help. I saw the roots as I would see burnt roots. I saw some leaves that looked like they had fertiliser 'burn' from the tip to halfway down the structure... I have some days of 104ºF, that is my worst case temperature thank goodness it is not the norm. On those days I spray 3x times a day with fresh water, their first watering being fertilised so... 4x on those hot days. But still!! What was I thinking? They are tolumnias not flipping vandas! 🤦🏼♀️ I hope that I have not missed the turn around mark on all the weak ones. I use MSU which I thought would be well balanced, rarely do I do a calmag dose only, because I thought MSU was well balanced. But... the amount is totally crazy.... I do not know what I was thinking!! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and for leaving me such an informative comment 🌸
Love you baskets that your babies in. I hope that they make it. I wish i could help but i don't have any and not sure if i want them. Yes their cute but if there more difficult to care for i will pass for now.
Hi Sandie 🤗💐 consensus is, I was over fertilising them... so... they are going on a diet! I was just blasting them with more than they could handle and burnt most of the roots in the process... and if that was the problem, then problem solved, and I hope they haven't crossed the line of no return. I love these little guys, even if some are mislabelled. Last year, I gave them the same care, and they took off and grew really well, so... why change things? Well, I guess that it is ok to do it to kick start and get some strength into them, but then... overkill 🤭 oops, I said the word! Have a wonderful Sunday, thank you so much for watching 🌸
Tolumnias are tough for me. I don't have the possibilities to mount them, so I have them in a net pot with leca. They never seem happy for me. I definitely over watered in the beginning, now I let them dry out way more but I think they hate me. By letting them dry, the leaves look dry and get all shriveley. Yours look way better than mine lol! Mine is still alive, but i need to change something fast
Hi Nicole 🤗💐I have been given some heads up that resonate with me. After I watch the video back, once it was uploaded, I looked at them from the viewpoint, that they were not mine... the roots are burnt and some have signs of too much fertiliser, and 300 ppm!?? When I heard myself say that, I was like, what?? That is ridiculous even if I have to spray them 2 or 3 x a day during the summer, and the subsequent waterings are plain water.... what am I doing thinking I am trying to get them to vanda size! 😓😒 total negligence on my part. They are going on a diet! 🤣 Thank you so very much for taking the time to watch. Have a wonderful Sunday 🌸
Hi 🤗💐 i love them too... I thought I could easily grow them on the lava rock, but despite having had some great progress with them last year, the same care this year was not up to what they like. I need to really tone down on the fertiliser... so... that is an easy fix and I hope that realisation isn't too late. I found the baskets in a thrift store and bought them all 😅 since then, I now have 2 empty ones, and hope that it doesn't turn into 6 empty ones. They need new candidates, but first, I have to fix the problem with the ones I have. 🤞🏼 Thank you for watching 🌸
@@thegreenthumbspet9963 i over fertilized them... that is the conclusion from the comments, and when I look at them, without the vision 'they are mine assessing them from another perspective... I agree with the comments made... waaaayyyy too much fertilizer. First year, its possible it helped to pump strength into them, but this year it was too much 300 ppm ever day during the summer... its as if I wanted to pump them up to vanda size 🤦🏼♀️ I intend to keep them as they are, but they are going on a diet. New growths or not. If I fertilise after a few months, it will be 100 ppm. I am also going to do an Epsom salt soak to see if I cant leach the excess mineral build up off the current lava rock they are in ... I hope this helps with what you decide to do 😊
@@NinjaOrchids thank u very much...i think also that 300 ppm is too way high for them every day....im just feeding mine 100ppm 2x a week...hope that our tolumnia will look great nxt season..just keep us posted...😀😀😀
I just received two Tolumnia's through the mail today. They are in such good condition and I'm so excited! I'm a relatively new orchid hobbyist and have accumulated about 35-40 in a very short time. My growing conditions are up to 113°F in summer and intermittent freezing in winter with temp in between, fluctuating wildly from 70°F to 30°F. I'm currently growing in my dinning room with two walls covered by windows, east and south. I have humidifiers but prefer not to use them. Ambient humidity is usually around 40%-50%. Currently I'm growing tolumnia, phals, brassvolla, vanda, cattleya, and dendrobiums in pots. Any others that might do well with my conditions? Anyone have any advice to give me based on this limited information? I would really appreciate it!
HI Anna 🤩💐 welcome! I have not seen you here before, so a warm warm welcome and thank you so much for being here, I so appreciate it 👍🏼 great conditions and, it just so happens that I over winter my orchids in my dining room as well. I have been given 'permission' to just admit it and call it my grow space 🤭😆 if you can grow that variety of genus, I would recommend the neofinetias (vandas) they are miniature and come with all kinds of beautiful leaf forms, also... if you like catasetinae, they are on the opposite side of the size spectrum to the neofinetias, but wow... what a kick growing those orchids! Cymbidiums, any slipper orchids, and other ground orchids may do well in your climate as well, and as some of the ground orchids go dormant, they may be able to live outdoors under a covered porch in natural conditions. Just a few suggestions for you to look in to. I grow all the varieties that I just mentioned, so if you are looking for any information on these kinds of orchids, my playlist has different Look Books on them 👍🏼 or, ask away 😉 thank you so much for watching, Anna! Hope your day was fantastic and once again, welcome 🫶🏼🌸
@@NinjaOrchids thank you so much! I really appreciate the suggestions! I think I will try and pick up some of those and try my hand at it. What could go wrong!? 😆😊😭👍 Absolutely love your channel and keep up the good work!
Can I see moss at the bottom of the pots? And less fertiliser for sure I thinking the lava rock is not ideal either .I have a small amount of bark, in pots your size I have upturned net pots to get the air well up into the pots. I’ve always wanted to try large lump charcoal as I have seen some beautiful displays in charcoal. This makes me think ph of bark and more so charcoal is a key to Tolumnia.
Hi 🤗💐 that is green microfibre to limit the dripping to some degree, even though in the summer everything dries quickly, I placed it there to act as a little barrier. And yes... I have one fertiliser solution for the whole collection, and I have to rethink that for '21. Get another sprayer, for them only and dilute the general solution. I am hoping to correct the situation with reducing fertiliser and not have to change them into something organic 😬Charcoal could be an alternative if I cannot correct the problem by reducing fertiliser... thank you for the heads up, I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful Sunday, and thank you so much for watching 🌸
"I feed them every day" I barely feed mine and mine are on mounts and they grow well. When I fed them more often, they didn't grow as well. Now they don't flower profusely, they might flower better if I fed them a little more, something for me to work on. I notice that there is some salt crust on the lava rock, which tells me that they may need to be flushed more, especially since lava rock absorbs fertilizer. Personally, I'd be feeding once to four flushes. In regards to cold, they are really quite night cold tolerant here. We got down to 34 (1) one night last winter, with a wind chill of 24 (-4.5) and they weren't bothered in the least. I can't bring them in since they grow on a tree so they have to take whatever mother nature throws at them. They almost always endure at least one night of 45 (7) each year. (they're calling for 42 (5.5) Tuesday night an I am not pleased to be that cold this early) An idea for you, instead of lava rock, what about cut up wine corks? I realize that is an organic medium but it is a long lasting organic medium. It would give you the benefit of rapid drying but you wouldn't have to worry about nutrient absorption by the media. Or maybe you line one of those baskets with the hob filter and just set the plant in that, no media at all other than the filter? IMO, they really do best mounted but, if you don't want to mount them, I understand. Just my opinions, thoughts, observations, experiences with them.
🤗💐Good morning, Michael 😃 yep... ✅✅✅ you know what? When I watched the video back once it uploaded, I thought to myself that the roots look burnt. The lava rock had the white marks etc... I noticed the white residue at the beginning of the season and thought it was mineral build up, so flushed quite a bit with Epsom Salts, but I guess my continuous fertilzing made the process counter productive. I saw the browning of one of the tolumnia's leaves halfway down the structure and it reminded me of fertilizer burn. And now your comment... ticks all the boxes! Thank goodness for the winter, I may be able to make adjustments because I rarely fertilize in the winter, just the occasional seaweed here and there. I hope that I have that time left to get the ones on the brink back in time. When you told me about the fact that Queen Palms grow here, why should I bring my tolumnias in? I had no answer, but... the over fertilizing will explain that. If they are weak from the get go, then the lower temperatures will make them more susceptible. I like the idea of wine cork. 🍷mmmhhh how many would I need? 10 / basket at least, 15 baskets.... cheers! Hic! 🤣I am going to make a tub of epsom salts and set them in for an hour or so... it won't reach the top of the media where some of the residue is, but maybe I can scrub a little with a tooth brush. I don't want to mount them because of having to schlepp in 15 tolumnias day in day out for 4 months, the tray is easier for carrying in and out. At least, that is what I tell myself. 🤞🏼 I have not pushed them over their limit. Thank you for your very insightful comment 👍🏼 I hope that you have a wonderful Sunday🌸
Michael FWIW chill factor is only really relevant for endothermic animals. Plants and inert materials will only experience the ambient actual temperature. They will cool faster to that temperature with the wind (if the sun had heated them or the ambient temperature changed quickly) but they won't be colder 😊
@@smallshebear actually, the cold wind that night was helpful in some regard because it prevented frost. A little further north, they didn't have the wind and there was a lot more cold damage from frost, even though our temps were the same.

And I really appreciate your feedback in the comments' section, thank you so much 🌸
I don't have any experience with tolumnias so can't help you there, but I really like they're all in the same kind of basket 😁.
Its annoying when they sulk for no apparent reason, hope they will pick up ffor you
Hi Maykel 🤗💐 you know what...?
Thankfully i first saw rogers tolumnias before i bought my first one 😉
Have a nice sunday and don't diet to much, gotta keep enjoying the good stuff 😁
She just said "goodbye, don't buy anymore" and that was it 😔
Looking forward to see the blooms on yours and good luck with all of them🤞🤞
Have a pleasant day my dear friend, mingi mingi hugs 😍🤗🤗🤗
@@NinjaOrchids Its just a contact insecticide but I find it mild enough that I can spray my new growths on my cattleyas without rotting them.
Those basket are cute. I don't have tolumnias sorry can't give any suggestions keep safe and happy growing : )
Hi 🤗💐 comments have solved what I was doing wrong.... I was heavy on the fertiliser! If that is the problem, then it is easily solved and I just hope that they haven't turned 'that' corner. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and enjoy your Sunday 🌸
@@NinjaOrchids Hi Nina I'm glad you solved the isues it's always nice that it has been solved : ) Keep safe and happy growing
@@NinjaOrchids 😂😂😂 "they are going on a diet" No more cake for you Mr. Tolumn.
Ilove tolumnia..!!mine just got mounted...those tolumnia basket are nice...
@@NinjaOrchids can you give me some idea on how will u fix them.?my tolumnia are just mounted last week...i dont know what to expect on them
@@thegreenthumbspet9963 i over fertilized them... that is the conclusion from the comments, and when I look at them, without the vision 'they are mine assessing them from another perspective...
And less fertiliser for sure
I thinking the lava rock is not ideal either .I have a small amount of bark, in pots your size I have upturned net pots to get the air well up into the pots.
"I feed them every day"
I barely feed mine and mine are on mounts and they grow well.
(they're calling for 42 (5.5) Tuesday night an I am not pleased to be that cold this early)
An idea for you, instead of lava rock, what about cut up wine corks?
