In cases like his you gotta think realistically with it and be like " Is this man who's been on drugs his whole life gonna have a great chance of cutting it all out and getting 100% sober forever? Probably not . That'd probably have been a rather daunting thought for an addict like him ( to never use anything again , ever. ) I feel like in some cases weed can save people from mental addictions like cocaine & meth and it's because those are just mental addictions. They are like " I want it" and not " I need it" kind of substances (meaning your body won't go into withdrawals if you cut them out of your lifestyle , worst case scenario you might feel a little moody for a few days...) drugs that will fuck you up and can even kill you from coming off of too quickly is stuff like alcohol & benzodiazepines. That's the stuff that will give you seizures that'll have you strapped down to a bed in the hospital getting sedated for your own good, I have personally experienced such things as I used to be a heavy drug user from age 14-18. Ironically that's when I used to bump the song " I need drugs " and listen to necro the most lol I guess I kinda see why this might of made Nec a lil mad for the simple fact that the guy probably doesn't wanna be asked about a dead relative but it's not really a disrespectful question either .. Just like the song "My Uncle Shoots Heroin," he talked about his love and admiration for Howie, but also described what watching a family member in the throes of addiction can do to those who love and care about the addict. I don't personally know Necro, but I imagine that LOVE for his uncle was the *main purpose* of these songs... And possibly even as a cautionary tale to "would-be" drug addicts, to not take that route. That's my best guess.
