The amount of dogs out there with no homes dying and being abused where they could just give them to prisoners to look after it will probably make prison less depressing
i was a prisoner in there for a few years in like 2011 onwards, it's a nice idea as dogs are calming but it's only a matter of time until some one harms a dog.
There is a Podcast about PET dogs in Prisons, the animal's needs come first, and obviously the staff {Who own the dogs} know the individual inmates..It seems to be a success.
great show for tv! i have worked in parc and 9 out of 10 inmates have never seen an appropriate mental health nurse let alone a dog !
So prisoners with mental health issues are not getting medication

I once had a 9 foot crocodile and an 8 foot Grizzly bear as pets. That wasn't comforting. It was a fu*king nightmare.
Well.. according to the PAT criteria dogs should walk on a loose leash..
Wouldn't let that lot around animals
Not keen on this idea. I think the likes of care homes etc would be better suited
