That hair is really awesome
Thank you!
Weird Paul hey weird Paul!
I'm so glad I discovered your channel.
Your videos never fail to make me smile.
Thank you so much Adam!
this is super interesting. I love hearing tales about the 80’s indie rock scene.
That's good, because I'll have more coming up!
Manny has booked a ton of my shows when i was younger , super rad story , as a fellow Pittsburgh musician + loving everything you do this ruled
Very cool, Paul! I remember my first gig, too. Rock is a cruel mistress indeed... keep the good stuff coming!
When was your first gig, Bruce?
Nice story Paul!
Thanks John!
Ed's hair is freaking glorious! I mean, don't get me wrong Paul, your hair is rad but dang!
He wore some pretty far-out wigs!
GODis a great Australian band , My Pal .was an epic single. stoked it made the chart playlist. Eugene chadbourne is a name I haven't heard for a long time. great performance, great vid.
Man, what a rollercoaster ride just playing your first gig! The first of many performing stories you could tell, I'm sure.
I've done over 600 shows now...I could write a whole book!
this dude is a wholesome genius
When I watch your videos I feel like I’m in a time warp back to the 90s or 80s, even though I’m barley old enough to even remember the 80’s
Well, I must be doing something right!
High On Fire
You are definitely one of the most unique individuals on RUclips I have seen yet, got to give props to 8bit Eric for recommending your page. Keep up the good work, love the aesthetics.
Thanks Harley! I appreciate it!
love videos like these. felt nostalgic even though it had nothing to do with me
Thanks Chuck! I feel successful when I hear this!
Amazing from Argentina i friend of flower you amazing me
Man there was a lot of work on this one Paul. I had a lot of fun watching this throw back from good times.
Thanks John! I feel like if you are going to tell a story, you have to tell as much of it as possible. Why leave anything out, because someday maybe you won't remember those little details...
Rock on!!
And the crowd goes wild way to go Paul 😄
☺
Now I'm hungry for CAKE!
I'm always hungry for cake! Except...when I'm hungry for pie!
This is awesome! Bet those cakes were delicious during the short break. I love the lil debbie christmas tree cakes. Never understood why they taste a little salty but oh well.
The audience always laughed when we did that. Just stopped playing - sometimes even sitting down - and ate our cakes. My mom gave me some pumpkin delights today, mmmmmm
nice
Outstanding docudrama Paul!
🤘😆🤘
Thanks! It has all the passion and perils, setbacks and success of any great story!
Oh No! It's DEVO poster in back, represent!!

It would be so cool to see you play live!! Until then, cheers Paul... rock on man!
Hope I get to tour sometime in the future!
U are into awesome music, I love the misfits
CONGRATS ON 30 YEARS!
Thank you!!
I remember the Foundry . I can’t believe that you were penciled in on the flyer, that’s freakin great. 😃✌️
Wow, awesome that you remember it! Wish I had a flyer for that Beat Happening show...I was probably not on that one, either!
Weird Paul my older sister went to Carlow college and had friends in Pitt. I wanna say that I heard of the Foundry from her, cause she used to go to a few of those places that had bands.
Awesome man! I am looking forward to seeing your documentary
Thanks Nick! I hope it gets released by the end of the year!
congrats, keep on rockin
Thank you!
A couple things:
1. I WANT CAKE NOW!
2. It kind of felt like Woodstock at the show (even though I wasn't there)
3. I swear that Edison looked vaguely like Robert Smith from the Cure.
4. I'm half-surprised that you aren't big in Japan.
5. Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!
I think that wig was meant to give that impression. And I hope that I will be big in Japan, one day!
You would totally go over big in Japan....or Yugoslavia. Great video!!!
Wow that's so cool!
Thanks!
I want to say let the ads play all the way through to help out Paul get that extra scratch but when they five minutes long? Jesus, I’m sorry Paul. I get u next time.
Brilliant video.
Thank you so much!
Great vid bru 👍🤓
Thanks!
Very awesome Paul!
Thank you!
You were higher than the Pixies? Far out man.
Yeah, and they were REALLY high. All the time.
This so awesome my friend I have to say.
Thanks Edgar!
All I get from this video is is...man you had some really cool, supportive parents. You were a lucky kid.
This was awesome thanks for sharing. Alternative music needs a come back.
Thanks Aaron! The guy who booked me to play this show in 1988 has just booked me to play another show next Friday. The same promoter has booked me to play two shows, 30 years apart!
@@weirdpaulp That answers my question above, Do you have performances uploaded on here?
Outstanding dude.
Thanks Cody!
Great video Paul!
Thanks mom!
Pretty interesting story
mint!
Love your vids Paul! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!
Oh man, I love your Dad's lyrics! It's like when Barney Rubble raps in the Fruity Pebbles commercial.
You uploaded this on time because the other day I looked up "weird paul first gig" and all I saw was your house shows haha.
haha! Totally, I had to rush to get it finished yesterday! I'll hopefully upload the full concert tomorrow night!
Great story amigo, it’s cool to know more about you
Thanks! The next chapter of the story will come in November!
Weird Paul awesome can’t wait
Greetings from Mexico
Its amazing to have had a first gig with a band people actually know 30 years later. I mean nobody more then ten miles away knows who the hell Sick Blocks from Downtown or Shag are at this point.
at least I didn't open for Snake Finger.
Yeah, I was lucky in that way!
So was I! HAHAHAHAHA!
Look who rose from the dead. Hi Paul how are you doing buddy?
Great, but SUPER busy. Barely time to sit still!
I bought the copy of There's a worm in my egg cream.
Flycreek
Your first show was opening for Beat Happening & Girl Trouble?!? WOW!!! xoxo The Clarences
Few people can genuinely rock a bowl cut, but a select few have pulled it off; Weird Paul Petroskey and Johnny Ramone
Terrific video, Paul. Reminds me of when I was in a garage/basement band and we got our cassette to a college radio station. We were so thrilled, but we never pursued it any further than that. One of our songs was about a white suburban kid who was really into hip-hop. It was called "Hey, Man, I Own a Dr. Dre CD, Too." When The Offspring came out with "Pretty Fly for a White Guy," we kicked ourselves. "Aw, man, that could've been us!"
Joe Blevins Hey again Joe! Can you check out my new posts please? Thanks! Also, a couple more 60’s hit song posts to come!
haha, that is great! Your song title is better than The Offspring's!
30 minutes is a long time. I would have taken a cake break as well.
You have to keep the energy up
Great video paul 👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃
Really interesting stuff paul
I like seeing your home movies
Thank you!
I make youtube videos too paul
You do videos on DVD pickups and stuff like that?
Weird Paul Petroskey Nice name
Thanks
hey man it would be cool to see the whole footage of the show!
Well you can see it! ruclips.net/video/0lymX1swSis/видео.html
@@weirdpaulp fkn A! you're the man!
That's super duper! When's The reunion show? I was at that show, and at least one of your rehearsals in your garage. I loved that time of weird performance art music shows at The Foundry. Your set was different and fun. The real deal. Where's Ed??
We played at the Sonic Temple after that and then the Turmoil Room after Ed left town for art school!
@@weirdpaulp I forgot about the Sonic Temple, yeah! Are there any good music clubs left in Pittsburgh? I also remember The Electric Banana
Your band truly rocks. I love how detailed your videos are. 😊 Oh, by the way you should check out GameStop you can get some xbox 360 and PS3 and Wii games 4 for 10 what's one of your dream bands to perform with?
Thanks! I don't have an xbox 360 or PS3 yet...I only buy the games if I can get them for a quarter, I figure I'll get the systems someday! I might go check out the Wii games though! I used to always say I wanted to play with the Dead Milkmen but that has happened now!
@@weirdpaulp it's the greatest feeling to only spend like $20 and see the amazing treasures you can get.
I’d love to see listening to your heart🤘🏻
There's a couple performances of that with me on the chord organ at live concerts...but this is all I have on RUclips right now...
ruclips.net/video/TbbjNzezqcs/видео.html
Hair looks retro
You and Ed were awesome,do you still talk to him
I don’t know how to put VHS to RUclips because I have a lot of old home movies from last year and I want to post them to RUclips so I need help
This is how I do it:
ruclips.net/video/sv6FUE6eXpU/видео.html
Fuck man I aint seen you in nearly a year or so? Lol. More air time than the Pixies? Wow lad! Amazing! A+ for Legacy Of Brutality. Misfits with Danzig were awesome. I don't like most of the stuff with Graves. Old school.
Hey Paul! Remember the song “Very Special” by Debra Laws?
I know the name, but I don't think I have heard the song.
What happened to Edison? Is he still into music?
Calvin would say that.. You should still change your name to Awesome Paul Petroleum
P.s. you ever heard of the k records band "wallpaper"? You look exactly like the guitarist and keyboardist "preston parker".
wallpaper-band.bandcamp.com
I haven't. But I do see the resemblance.
How do you record your videos
Here's exactly how I do it: ruclips.net/video/sv6FUE6eXpU/видео.html
It was interesting, But what ended up happening to your music career?
More people are listening to my music now than every before! And I have a new album coming out next year!
Wait.. ur eyes are purple?
They are blue.
Please record your Dad's song, sounds like it'd make make a really cheesy and cringey hip hop track.
great video Paul!
Thank you! It took a LONG time to make, I got as detailed as I possibly could!
it's one of your best man!
