- French President Emmanuel Macron's call to halt deliveries to Israel of weapons for use in Gaza was "specifically a broad call for an international arms embargo", said FRANCE 24's International Affairs Editor Douglas Herbert.
But is it likely to be effective? Macron's message "is a stark contrast to what we hear and see from the US policy, but it is likely to sway in any way shape or form Israel's behaviour? ... most likely not," Herbert said.
