- I purchased a Yakima RidgeBack 4-Bike Hitch Rack from Amazon. It works amazingly for my adult bikes. However It's difficult to mount children's bikes. In this video I show you how you can use a ratchet to create a horizontal tension bar between the seat and the handle bars so that you can mount it onto the rack. This Creates a top tube for non-conventional frames.
*I drove 20 hours across state with a **Latest.Bike** on this rack never budged. Highly impressed. Easy install one two go!*
Oh my word! Thank you! I just spent $40 on bar adapters, only to find that it doesn’t even work on my kids bikes! I am taking them back! You saved me $40 bucks! You rock!!!
This is very helpful! I have read people comment on the bar adapters not short enough for a kids' bike, was just struggling to think if I have to bite the bullet and install a hatch and purchase a platform style bike rack... your video saved me $1500! Thank you!
Great tip. Thank you! I was trying to fit my kids bikes on the rack like a Tetris puzzle with minimal success. I'm going to try this today!
Thank you because I'm apparently the one person who's never used a ratchet strap and needed the demo!
ah yes! this is terrific. I was just grappling with this problem after purchasing that same Yakima rack. I already have the straps. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it helped!
Very helpful video. I got self retracting version about 6 feet long from home depot to keep things simple. I love this setup.
Glad it was helpful!
Lifesaver! If only I could look outside the box and figure this stuff out haha!
Happy to help!
Genius invention! Works for ladies bikes also!
True!
great idea; thanks for sharing; I was also challenge by this dilemma; kids spoke wheel too small for forks to go through
Excellent solution. Works like a charm! Thanks so much!
Thanks!
Great idea, however... Although I feel the rated ratchet strap will hold, that's a lot of faith on that 1 seat post screw against the soft alloy whilst bouncing and vibrating at speed. Same goes for the one holding the stem to the frame.
Would complement this by tying frame of rack to frame of bike on both sides.
Wish us luck!🍀
you sir, are ingenious
... and you are royalty. Good luck with the bikes!
Kilometers?? What are those? Great stuff man, thank you for sharing this invention. Saved me some $
Great idea!
Glad it helped!

Super helpful, thanks!!
Thank you sir!
Yup works Perfect 👍
Wow!!! Great idea!
That's amazing information.
Why didn't I think of this?
Why did I think only products like "Tule 982 Bicycle Frame Adapter" were the solution?
I think I'm wrong and your idea is wonderful.
Genius!
Adult cruiser bike work too?
Hi. Thanks. Has anyone tried this on an adult ladies bike?
No need for this with an adult bike. Standard frame adapters work on adult bikes.
