I pray for this servant of our Father. I see Christ in him, in his countenance. He is a bold teacher, mining the depth of God’s Word. Thankful for this ministry, especially during the past year of isolation for many of us older folks.
Agreed the Grace of God teaches us to say no to Ungodliness. Grace is Free but it cost Christ His Life. His life is imputed to us. His righteousness clothes us. Faith plus nothing. Christ Alone, no works of the law, but by Grace through faith and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast. I believe it was always possible for Adam to not Sin, he could have chose to die for his bride, he chose to blame her. The last Adam chose to die for his bride and does not blame her but takes her blame and died in the place of all guilty humanity.
Deuteronomy 7:6-8 6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be pa people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. 7 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, 8 but it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Slight correction pastor; not that we might be come Holy but that we might be holy. The difference is that in Christ those who believe already are holy before they go through the wringer of sanctification. They have a status of being holy in Christ. This holiness is theirs by being adopted in Christ. This of course does not do away with the fact that the Christian life is one of becoming more and more like Him in our daily life.
I am a follower of your teachings but it is my opinion, Eph1:3-4 is not about election. I beg to differ from your interpretation of Eph1 verse 3- 4, in its historical and immediate context, the word personal pronoun plural "us" refers to Paul and the apostles, instead of us as a believer in Christ, as the apostles was chosen by Jesus to serve his ministry from the foundation of the earth (John15:16). From verse 5 to 12 the "us" and "we" are the apostles too. But in this verse 13 there is a change of personal pronoun to "you" meaning the Gentiles ; "Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, " also alluding to Eph2:11-13 the uncircumcision and Eph3:5-6 the mystery. Any comments please. Thank you.
@@reformedpilgrim Allow me to give you my lengthy discourse to support my contention on how I determine "us" as Paul and the Apostles. Ephesians 1:1-2 Apostle Paul wrote the salutation of his epistles to the saints and the faithful in Christ. In Ephesian1:3-14 is a complete one passage of writing by Paul, however, I am not saying its principles (spiritual blessings etc) doesn’t apply to us as believers. It’s my contention, contextually verses 3-12 the word “us” and “we” refers to Paul and the Apostles. Why? These following two verses affirms it; “(Eph 1:8) Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; (Eph 1:9) Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:” NOTE Paul claimed in verse 8, he (God) had abounded “us” (Paul and the Apostles) in what? In all wisdom and prudence meaning God bestowed upon Paul and the Apostles these special gifts of all wisdom and prudence to equip them (Paul and the Apostles) for God’s earthly Ministry. In verse 9, further Paul added God had revealed to “us” (Paul and the Apostles) “the MYSTERY” according to God’s will and pleasure. So, what is “the MYSTERY” Paul talking about? … Please refer to these verses for the revelation of the mystery Paul was referring to. … I quote Eph:3:3-6; “(Eph 3:3) How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, (Eph 3:5) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;(Eph 3:6) That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:” NOTE in verse Eph3:3, now Paul say that God had revealed to him(as Paul was the Minister to the Gentiles) the mystery ; as I (Paul) wrote before in few words meaning he had before written in Eph2:14-19). In Eph3:5 earlier in the other ages meaning in the old testament saints this mystery was not made know to them, but it has now been revealed to the Apostles and the prophets. What is that mystery? It was revealed in Ephesian3:6 that THE GENTILES SHOULD BE FELLOWHEIRS in the body of Christ and sharers of His promise by the gospel. Further in thess verse Paul affirmed he was made a minister to the Gentiles; “ (Eph 3:7) Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. (Rom 11:13) For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office….. So in Ephesians 1:3-12 the word “we” and “us” should refer to Paul and his Apostles, whom God had revealed this mystery of the Gentiles to be brought into the kingdom of God. So obviously, this revelation of the mystery of the fellowheirs was evidently not made known to us as believers initially but God has, in fact, revealed it to Paul and the Apostles…I hope now I have answered your question. Thank you.

How did you determine that “us” stands for the apostles? Where in the text does Paul define “us” as the apostles?
