  • Gage was drafted by the Falcons in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft and signed a 4 year, $2,616,194 contract, which also included a $156,194 signing bonus, $156,194 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $654,049, per Spotrac.
If he keeps playing he’s been playing up until the end of the season, he’ll be looking for a better deal from Atlanta or elsewhere, since UFA’s are free to negotiate with other teams as opposed to restricted free agents.
Gage entered the 2020 season as an intriguing deep sleeper, and he quietly paid off for those who took a shot. Gage ranked 22nd at WR in targets and finished 37th in fantasy points despite finding the end zone only four times. Oddly, he was even better during five full games with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, handling a 20% target share and ranking 15th at WR in fantasy. With Jones now in Tennessee, Gage is now the favorite for No. 2 duties. On the other hand, Gage is a short-area target who adds little after the catch. His efficiency numbers have been very poor the past two seasons and Atlanta won't throw as often in new coach Arthur Smith's run-first, TE-friendly scheme. The 25-year-old's standing on the depth chart is enough to warrant a bench spot.
