His independent release came out in 2010, Mansion came out in 2015. This originally came out on his EP he released with capitol in 2014 I think. So it was just the time between 2010 and the EP

Anything that sounds like he is firing shots is a generalization to the rap industry in general (except for a recent song "Turn my back" on his most recent album. He had a long break from his album moments(basically sounds like a eminem rip off sound) till what most consider his first professional album Mansion which is what you're listening to. And yes when he mentions the king he's talking about God. Can't wait till you get to his newer albums. He gets better with every album and it's clear that his skill only goes up.

This song was actually released on earlier album (an EP from a different label). They brought it to Mansion with an upgrade!
His first album, without a big record deal, is called Moments. Very very Christian based but he doesn’t like it. This was his FIRST single with CCM label and was used to promote him. Looonnng time fan here!

NF struggles with he’s past and trying to become noticed as a rapper. Sniffing lines he’s just referring to how the rap scene is perceived as doing drugs, etc. not anyone in particular. “How could you leave us” let’s you know about his mom. It’s very sad to watch.
