A lot of people think that basketball is a sport where you simply have to be tall and able to dunk, or do a lot of fancy dribbling - that's not how you typically play the sport - there's actually tons of concepts and knowledge involved in this game. It would be interesting to hear former players and coaches talk about roles, rotations, defensive schemes, the importance of having a deep bench, verbal communication etc. etc. Instead, you have a bunch of bad faith actors dressed in suits and ties, who were never involved with basketball at any significant level in their lives... who talk about the sport as if it was all money and hero ball, and will criticise these young athletes for virtually anything. If it's not that, then you constantly have G.O.A.T debates which are really just hypothetical, and mostly subjective... it's like the WWE of basketball analysis. I'm not sure if that's really a good look for the NBA... why the commissioners and club owners allow for the league to be represented in such a way, is beyond me.

A lot of people think that basketball is a sport where you simply have to be tall and able to dunk, or do a lot of fancy dribbling - that's not how you typically play the sport - there's actually tons of concepts and knowledge involved in this game. It would be interesting to hear former players and coaches talk about roles, rotations, defensive schemes, the importance of having a deep bench, verbal communication etc. etc. Instead, you have a bunch of bad faith actors dressed in suits and ties, who were never involved with basketball at any significant level in their lives... who talk about the sport as if it was all money and hero ball, and will criticise these young athletes for virtually anything. If it's not that, then you constantly have G.O.A.T debates which are really just hypothetical, and mostly subjective... it's like the WWE of basketball analysis. I'm not sure if that's really a good look for the NBA... why the commissioners and club owners allow for the league to be represented in such a way, is beyond me.
