Prayers and love to the Sherpa and their families. They provide indispensable knowledge and work hard so other people may achieve their dreams. I'm thinking they are under appreciated and should be shown proper respect. Peace and blessings 🙏

As an ER/ICU/Trauma Nurse, I can clarify and prophesy that this woman will die if she attempts 14 - 8000 peaks in 6 months.
Do you people know what putting the body through high altitudes, does to your blood? The Bone Marrow is what produces your red & white blood cells. At chronic high altitude your bone marrow will suddenly over produce red blood cells that are WAY too immature to carry Oxygen that feeds Oxygen to vital tissues; *Because the decreased Oxygen level will tell the Brain to tell the Bone Marrow to produce more Blood Cells because there isn't enough O2 to sustain the vital organs. Thus.....you will get Polycythemia and others types of Anemias.
And....because you have too many blood cells in your blood vessels, as they over load the Liver to be filtered (they are excreted in our urine and feces), the Liver can & will fail from over loading the Liver.
AND in addition to all these horrible diseases, you WILL get massive systemic blood clotting called DIC =
Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, as there are so many blood cells, they WILL aggregate, sticking together, causing blood clotting that WILL go to the Brain, Lungs, Heart, and other vital organs.
And these above stated problems, are deadly!!!! You will NOT survive! Even if you are successful from each climb, it will all catch up to you by the 5-6 climb
The climber WILL die from HACE or HAPE, secondary to massive systemic blood clotting (DIC), Pulmonary Emboli, Stroke, and sudden Cardiac Failure due to massive Cardiac Ischemia, Cardiomyopathies, etc.
A fool that has an ego THAT big, and seeks attention THAT BADLY, needs psychiatric help more then climbing mountains to get accolades.
      How immature that is. Ugh!
      The uneducated.....ugh! And the psychotic....ugh!😒🙄🤔😲

Just a thought on a bit of a skewed mindset. For the rest of the world looking from a far these mountains look pristine and beautiful. The rubbish problems seems to only affect the people on the mountains. You break it you fix it , motto seem to wash over the mountaineering community. Am I being too harsh?

@@EverestMystery Thom, I thank you so much for bringing these video feeds so well. I like your laid back and knowledgeable perspective on high altitude climbing. Please put in perspective for me that the climbing Sherpa are welcomed on the teams and respected as a western climber is. It’s hard for me to watch at times when some of the westerners seem to disregard the hard work and very dangerous risks they perform. I know I have never climbed but I’ve been in several high stress, ( physically, emotionally and mentally), situations and I’ve had to have trust and faith in individuals that are from different nationalities and ethnic communities. I learned to establish a tight bond and build trust with them, for in several incidents I had my life in their hands.

I know this is a very novice question but I didn’t know where else to message you. I do not carry a Twitter page so I hoped to catch up on this year’s season of climbing. Any news from any camps, any injuries? As always, thanks Thom! For a complete novice, that’s just an avid fan of all the true mountaineers, I truly do thank you! Your warm and kind karma shows a very positive glow to your aura, (glow).

Ralph, thanks so much, I truly appreciate it. This year there have been three Sherpa deaths (Khumbu Icefall crevasse fall in April) and this week a 69 year old doctor from Seattle perished while resting at Camp 2. This was his second trip to the mountain, after having been unsuccessful last year. Hoping for good weather this year!

Thank you for sharing the medical intel on this. I think generally speaking, her time at altitude is going to be relatively limited. But, for sure, the accumulation over time has an impact on the body. Blood clots are a thing on high altitude peaks. I've known many that have had their expeditions end with a TIA. My own symptoms in 2019 resembled a TIA but a brain scan MRI (granted, only one test) revealed nothing to say that is what happened.
Regarding the ego part, or the 'why' of someone doing this. My hope here is to offer a somewhat non-judgmental overview of the things that are going on in the 8000 meter peak world. Yes, I indeed have my opinions on it. But, I myself pursued mountain climbing with a single-minded focus for many years. Thank god I survived some hairy situations to be able to look back and observe. I've been in touch with Kristin's team and will hopefully have an interview with her soon. Check out her Instagram or any other social media of people showing their faces at altitude....from experience I can tell you that a few days in the Death Zone beats the living shite out of one's body, mind and soul.
I hope you'll check out some of the other videos and share your thoughts. While I have a ton of comments waiting to be replied to, I try to reply to any comments on my full-length videos. I appreciate that you took the time to reply.
You might like this interview with a friend of mine, Dr. Peter Hacket. It's an interview only, which I'll condense in video format. Nonetheless, you might find our conversation right down your alley: ruclips.net/video/mbVu3oDm4mI/видео.html
