I was upset and on my way back to the dealership. I got an oil change and tried to check it and of course I got the not available. I'm glad I saw your video.
No… the dipstick reading will be inaccurate if you’re running the engine or it was recently running. This detects when it’s suitable to check the oil level for an accurate reading.

And that’s why you should have dipstick as well not to wait half hour....
Only idiots pay for "luxury"
Even with a diostick, its encouraged to check your oil before actually starting your car as that will give you a false reading if the car has been on.
@@lombe-andrewmusonda17 with dipstick you have to wait like 3…4 min not more

Not half an hour. It is about 5min after turning the engine off, which is normal for any vehicle.
Great video!!! Thanks for the explanation.
I appreciate the information. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
👍👍👍
Hello, I just got a 2018, is it basically the same?
Great in depth video. Helped me a lot
Thank you
wow you can check oil level without the engine running? great feature!
Hello my car was completely cold and it said oil level not available. I also then warmed it up and it still says not available
Try again but it may be the oil level sensor has failed - they do - and its a pain to replace ! See my video on Discovery 4 oil sensor..
Awesome
Same on L494 ?
Mine says overfilled?
I can't wait to see how much the oil level sensor runs you for :)
You will be surprised😂😂😂
I think it will be like £1000 for the sensor but then they will say you need a oil change while u
You have it done which will be like £500
Not Worning 🙂
