Moooooore of this please. There's not enough Sound Design breakdowns on youtube and it's so valuable to see the process behind all these amazing soundscapes you guys are creating. I would have loved to hear the sound design a little bit louder. The keyboard sounds and the hiss coming from the mics is quiet distracting, so I think for 002 that could be fixed. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks! + yeah this is a proof of concept and was us trying it out how it could work. We're definitely hiring an editor or else we wont have time to make another... stay tuned
Agree with Tony, that's such a good idea cause we don't get a lot of this type of content and it's sooo interesting thanks for that guys ! And yes it's really annoying that we can't hear the session sound when you're talking and playing the sound at the same time, the mic and the mouse and keyboard noises are very loud compared with the session. Hope that we can have other episodes in the future, cheers
Did some sound deisgn for a friend and then he sent me your instagram with a clip from this bts. Dudes.... what the hell? You guys are goats and YES PLEASE post more stuff like this. Would be eternaly grateful.
this is great! please more of this :) Currently there´s nothing like this on YT. Just fix the audio of the video as other people is commenting pls. Thank you so much for such great content!!!!
Cool! Thanks a lot for doing this. Very insightful and inspiring! I was surprised to see you guys work in Logic instead of Pro Tools or something. I prefer Logic for music and experimenting, and Pro Tools for more traditional sound design for video. Especially because Logic is quite limited in its video capabilities. Particular reason for this? Also interesting to see there's never a lot of plug-ins on your tracks and no busses. I would think you'd do that to help glue everything together. It's amazing you can get these kinds off results purely by throwing stuff at it in separate tracks. Epic!
That ability to experiment and do whatever in Logic is why we use it still for sound design and in many projects we do music & sound in the same session for flexibility. We used to use PT for longer SD stuff but this was back when PT stopped supporting video for that period of time and that with above point we began to not really enjoy it. For feature films we’d probably use it. Logic supports atmos natively too now which is a bonus. Re. Buses, we do usually do have a template with bus and aux routings for multiple mixes/stems/groups but I can be lazy and I forgot to use it but the guys use it all the time and it’s very helpful / crucial most of time. The plugins thing, that varies project to project, sometimes yeah, sometimes no, it’s about what it needs I guess. You might see in the next one! m
Nice! THANKS! A lil bit hard to listen those nuanced sounds with bleed from your mics. It will be highly appreciated if you will mute your mics when showcasing.🙏
Our stuff that goes out online is set to 0.5dBU TP but for this, as it was a screen recording and not the final session, we used it just so it didn't distort, 0.0dB is fine for 99% of mixes that aren't slammed. You only really need to not do that, in our experience, for platforms that have heavy compression or if you have a really bass heavy or squished mix.

Why you set output ceiling to 0.0 on L2?
