#aurora #auroraborealis #northernlights
I’ll tell you a funny story, about 18 years ago we moved to the Isle of Skye, we came from a large town, flooded with light pollution. We knew nothing about the northern lights, nothing. One night, we were sat in our lounge & the sky suddenly went green & seemed to be moving towards us 😳 I have to say it seemed quite frightening at the time, we thought the Martians 👽 had landed 🤣🤣 Em 💜
😂
That’s hilarious! Good story.
Oooh bonus content!!! ❤
Very impressed with your photographs
You guys are the best! So nice to share the photos and tips! 👉❤️👍
Hi guys!! Thanks for explaining how the aurora borealis appears. I loved seeing your photos.
Thanks very much for the tips, very educational in language that I understand. Thanks again.
Thank you for the iPhone hints! Please consider posting more of the photos you got - for some of us it’s the only way we will ever see the Aurora! Love you guys ❤.
Excellent homework fellas! Who said you don’t know much…….triple experts in my book. Stupendous pics, just saved me buying a useless cruise up north.
Thanks for the northern lights. We use to watch them when I was a kid.God bless you both. I really appreciate you both. God bless.
Beautiful photographs. When I have been in Scotland in the past I have seen the Aurora many times but it never ceases to amaze and impress me. James.
Absolutely beautiful pictures you did and awesome job enjoy your channels have a great week
Fabulous. I saw them in Iceland in January.
So did I! 😃
The northern light are so beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to share them. I love it. 🙂❤️

Brilliant, got a iPhone 13 Pro Max and didn't realise it had got a night mode 😎😎
Absolutely beautiful! and the lights weren't bad either. :)
You’re so talented 😎 absolutely beautiful shots. 🏴💜 Em
Well done Colin what a fantastic picture hope I see the when I come up there
You guys are some lucky dudes....to be able to see that in person would be too cool! Thanks for sharing the videos and pics!
Top notch yet again. Keep them coming guys. 👍👍
Thanks so much for all that advice. I'll try your tips out 🥰
Fabulous photos and video. People talk about bucket lists and seeing the Northern Lights is on mine.
That was fascinating, you are always so clear in everything you tell us. (Wish you'd been my teacher at school, think I'd have learnt so much more.)
The Aurora footage was awesome in fact I'm going to watch your video again.
Thanks Colin, and Hi Shaun xx 💕🐾
Brilliant pics fellas.Nice to see you both looking happy and well again.Take care and keep the fun coming to us all.❤🏴👍🐕🐕🐾
I've witnessed a solar eclipse in Tennessee, a stunning meteor shower in a dark sky location in central Washington and a month of 24 hour daylight in Alaska but have never been under the aurora. After reading Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" books long ago (and watching the recent TV adaptation) this is one of the things that is at the top of my list.
Thanks for sharing your images and how you captured them!
Fabulous......I have always wanted to see the northern lights x
Well done lads, great pic's.
Beautiful! Reminds me of the times when I was little standing in the front yard of our home with my parents in the upper peninsula of Michigan here in the USA watching them. This blog brought back some warm memories. Thanks guys. 👍🤗❤
Thank you very much for sharing your tips., it is a typically kind and generous thing from you. ❤ We have a red alert on Aurora Watch even here in the south so hope that the clouds go and it appears!
Well done Colin, great shots, we might go out into the Forrest tonight if the sky's clear, too much light pollution where we are at home. Only you can get a smutty mention involved with such a science based subject, keep up the good work, thanks for sharing. Can we expect one of your photos in next years calendar?
Maybe! x
Hi Guy's......Look North are looking for photos.....Thought of you too.
Thank you for this super session of how to take photos of the Northern Lights. I recently "discovered" the ISO setting on my 35mm and it helps. So envious.
Your photo was beautiful !
great shots guys. It also helps if you are away from any street lights or other light.
Absolutely fantastic 👏🏻 👌🏻 😀 👍🏻
Absolutely stunning images, fabulous information. Thank you x
Absolutely gorgeous amazing sight. Nature the amazing artist 🎨 ❤
Hi.... my two youtube friends... Thanks for sharing..
YAY!!!!
"Nocturnal emissions" 🤣😳
Always a heartwarming joy to see you guys :)

Wow!! Thank you for sharing
Thanks muchly. So beautiful! Gloria
That was really useful. Thank you.
Brilliant stuff!!
Shaun and Colin thank you for this vlog and the beautiful Aurora vlog. You guys are the best and Otis and Ollie are adorable
Beautiful thanks for the video 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌸🌸
Awesome show, nice job capturing them👍👍 I guess the aurora is 1 benefit to living at the north pole. I'm north enough to be miserable and cold but too far away to see them.😂😂
Thanks for updating the tips!
Wow! Epic sight! Thanks for showing us.
This again shows y'all's kindness to everyone. That you stopped to make this. Blessings upon you both
Great pictures, and thanks for the info ☺️
Those are some amazing shots - Thanks!! "Angry ball of angriness" - not sure I've ever heard Neil deGrasse Tyson ever quite describe the sun that way, but it works :)
Breathtaking! Thank you for the information, and for taking the time to share with us. Blessings
Fantastic photos!
Thank you for such an informative and useful edition. Definitely inspired to take some night time photos. 👏👏👍😀
This was so cool guys...and thanks for the tech advice too xx
Incredible thank you ❤
When I lived in norther norway (70 deg N), I just layed down in the snow and could watch for hours despite -30 C
Is it Friday already oh silly me it's Monday 🤣 like the different colours of the northern lights you guys have picked the perfect place to live up in Scotland
Great photographs - oh what a night! - thank you for sharing from Australia.
WOW! Those reds! Fantastic job.
I grew up far enough north to have seen several ABs, but never reds like what you two photographed.
Two most unusual times for me were once in the Philippines in 90 or 91, and one of the times from my home. The Philippines because it was so far south. The one from my home because it looked like a waterfall coming from the moon and the rest of the sky was covered in ribbons.
loved all your videos from the beginning- but as a photography fan - this is my favourite. This is on my bucket list and now I have target settings 🎉🎉 Unfortunately too far south in HK, but it's on my travel plans!
Thanks for a clear and simple explanation of settings that have been found to work.
Good aurora hunting lads.
Awesome!
Wow, breathtaking beauty.
FANTASTIC PICTURES.XX
Going to Svalbard next week hopefully for the Northern Lights so this info was well timed😁. Thanks for the info, it more or less confirmed what I thought.
thanks guys
fantastic
Beautiful photos!! ❤
That's is so amazing, it's on my bucket list to get to see one.
So u sell your photos, something like a this would be so amazing to hang on a wall
Excellent Shawn's photo on his phone was my favourite
I have been so lucky to see the aurora in Iceland last year, it's the most beautiful natural event I have ever seen, I need to rent a cabin somewhere north for a month haha.
Does the aurora happens normally in north Scotland? or it's visible just when it's really strong?
It can be seen fairly regularly but not usually this strong.
Great video short & sweet
Thanks 👍
Thanks guys that was very interesting, apparently you may see it again tonight. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Great advice Colin, and the results from both of you were superb photographs. X
They were glowing here in the Yukon in northern Canada for much of the night. Swirls and streaks of all colours... especially red, purple, green. Magnificent display and I've lived across northern Canada for over 35 years! Our local social media was full of tons of amazing photos! Only difference is it was -30 here. Brrr.
I'm so jealous guys 😘 .this is on my bucket list .you are spot on where you live great views .xx
Wow what a great video on how to capture the AB! Thanks for taking the time to explain how to do it and the tips. The photos and videos were fabulous. You have a creative mind that is wonderful .
My pleasure!
Top Tips hey lads 👍👍👍
great video!
Amazing, thank you. I use a D5500, and a bag full of lenses.
I love the effort, research and attention to detail in these videos.
Thank you very much!
It was usefull and love the photos!
Great info. Thanks guys
Great pics. Would have thought that Achavanich Standing Stones would be a great spot for a moody pic.
Thank you so much,
Welcome 😊
Great photos...great advice too thanks...
Beautiful pics!
Thank you!
Thank You.... I've seen so many Northern Lights photos that are so blurry that I can't even look at them... hurts the eyes.
Great advice! Have fun, you can't break your camera taking photos. Bracketing a picture is a great way to ensure success. Bracketing - (adjusting speed, F stops, and Iso high and low) many cameras have settings to bracket automatically. Loving the Aurora pics!
Absolutely!
You deserve so much credit for your excellent research for your videos. 😘😘
Thank you so much!
Cheers Colin and Shaun. Some great advice and some absolutely amazing photos. X
Thanks 👍
At 4:52, did you also catch a falling star? That's awesome! The pics are also amazing!
We are getting them from the south as far up as Perth, Uluṟu, in Australia that level tonight. Aurora Australis. Very excited. 😁
Wonderful !!! Well done 👏 ❤
Thank you! 😊
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
