If you wanted too I bet you could find someone with backyard chickens that might let you hatch some as a fun project & then take them back once a couple of weeks old. It would be a fun project. I remember too many years ago when my mom would bring home a duck egg smuggled in her bra from the park & try to hatch it near the light over the oven. None ever hatched. But I'd love to try hatching some if I had a good place for them. Unfortunately I don't think my apartment complex would approve of porch chickens. 😉

(Air end- wider end) The growing Emu fills the space and mutes the sound. An infertile one sounded like a china tea cup, more of a ting than a dull sound of the fertile ones. It’s useful method, especially in the earlier days before the chicks are more active.

Hey there Whitehouse, I live in Australia and I just love 🥰 your website ❣️ I’ve been watching you on and off over the years and I love all the different varieties of birds that you own and the eggs that are posted to your place and the excitement on your kids faces when the eggs move (like the emu eggs) or they see them fertile or hatch 🐣 I’ve been breeding different birds from finches, canaries, budgies, cockatiels and now racing pigeons on and off since I was 13 years old and I wish I had met someone like minded that had been interested in what I and you guys do, oh well 🤷♀️ Would have loved a property like yours but that never happened, life had a different route for me to play. It might be a good idea to consider getting the chicks out with other emus as soon as it's safe so that you can minimize the risk of another Bamboo situation! (We all love him, but he's convinced he's a person and seems to refuse to breed with his ladies because of it.)
I am not rushing you guys but it’s Been 2 weeks and I check every day to see if the egg has hatched I am so happy that you guys have emu eggs and question will you keep the emu eggs that you get or will you sell them on eday

Well I have birds of my own and this year I have 18 beautiful Black and white baby chicks and I was so happy to see them all. But the Emos are adorable though I wish I had some of my own.
To have to hire someone or mail letters asking for information not to be released and sold is wrong. I am so happy for you guys and the farm with this new family member coming into the EMU lifestyle that is so cool. I have an apartment and always loved animals and I may not have a farm and all that land but I love incubation of eggs crossing and pollination of flowers and vegetables is such a rewarding life. Exspecially when you got such a great wife that is into the same stuff as you.

I guess we’ll have an idea depending on if they are standard in color or white. If they’re blonde we won’t know the father.
