The 69 Nova SS didn't have a wing from the factory but dealers back in the day would sometimes install stuff like that to sell a car quicker. Would be hard to tell if someone installed it after purchasing or if the dealer installed it but it didn't roll out of the factory with that wing.
Thats cool as hell you guys!!!! Since Brandon wants it gold with a vinyl top do it!!!! I love seeing you guys building cool shit that the rest of us like in a garage with motors everyone can buy. Plus your doing it father and son style! Happy New Year!
I'm pretty sure that spoiler is an add-on. If I remember correctly, guys were putting first-generation camaro spoilers on them. I would stick with that color that is on it, but gold would look nice as well. Nice roller.
nice project. jerry i like the direction you're going. src just bought nova & 1st. thing did was rejected orig rallyes with rc comps. your going 2 have a great daily that's a blast 2 drive & certainly a head turner
Allstar Performance # ALL60230 rear upper shock mount relocation kit is what I used on my 70' Nova. The lower shock mounts that come with the CalTrac kit works great! GM had a gold color for 69' Nova's that would look nice with a black vinyl top on your car. Nice score, I'll be following along on the build!
Awesome Nova guys! I had a 69 back in high school but it wasn't an SS , Awesome find can't wait to see what u guys do this bad boy ,I do like Brandon's idea on the Gold with the black Vinyl top my 71 El Camino had that scheme Lol.
Monza and Brandon, y'all rock! Love the Nova, but I don't think that wing came from the factory like that. The dealership probably had that wing as an option. My first car was a 76 Nova. Happy New Year, y'all! Peace
Good purchase Monza. I have a 71 Nova with a big block 406 with a Tremec 5 speed and I love that car. I would suggest you use a 5 speed instead of a 4 with that size engine. That way if you want to drive it on the street at highway speed you won’t have to spin it so fast. The gold with the vinyl top would be beautiful. My first Rally Nova was a 72 and was gold. Wish I had never sold it. Nova’s NEVER had a spoiler from the factory. A possible dealer install, but never factory. You can purchase a factory style fuel tank through Tanks Inc.
My uncle has a 1969 Nova SS with the OG 396 and the 4 spd munci trans with the 12 bolt rear end he bought it used back in the mid 70's when he was 15 years old and has had it since he has a 6.0 liter LS in it right now with a Whipple supercharger and it's his baby it's dark green on black interior anyway them cars are bad ass I have always been a fan of the Nova's up to the 1972 after that they got ugly with the big bumpers and hatchbacks but I love the 62 to 72 Nova's
Beautiful car guys! I had a 70 SS dark metallic blue with black interior, air shocks and ladder bars. The rear trunk spoiler is aftermarket junk, the car didnt come with one. I'm with Monza on keeping it simple old school! Can't wait to see how it turns out. 🔦🏁💰🤑🇺🇸
Gold with black top on rallys would be very nice. Hard to beat a 68-72 nova. Gotta have the big Holley pump hanging out back. Can't wait to see the build up.
The spoiler is a add on. I had a 1969 SS nova . Factory hood has two chrome and black non functional louvers. SS badges on front grill, side badges on fenders and SS badge on rear between tail lights .Nice find Monza too bad the original hood didn't come with it. Options was 396 with 4 speed or turbo 400 trans. You could also order it with a SBC. Again great find Monza.. look forward to the finish product. Now I wish I could found my old 1967 SS Chevelle I had in the 1980's...😢
That spoiler is not factory! GM never put them on the Nova's. I'm 71 now, and I owned a 70SS. Really like yours. I ran rallies on mine too. 14/7 on the front with 245/50 TA Radials, and 14/8 with 265/50s on the rear. Can't wait to see how you do yours! PEACE ✌️
That's cool Monza I got a 67 mustang cuz when I was coming up my dad we live in the same town he did when he grew up how do you say all the stories how he was a badass drag racing in the streets now he's in the hot rods but I got a 67 mustang when I turn 16 but now that I'm older I always wanted 68 to 72 Nova so if I hit the lottery that's what I'm buying good luck and I can't wait to see what comes of it
3rd Gen Nova's didn't come with a rear spoiler. That one looks like it's off a 1st Gen Camaro, personally I'd remove it, I don't think it improves the look from the rear. That's your call though✌️
After Graduating HS I bought a 68 Chevele SS factory BB 4 speed 12 bolt in 1975, it was stolen in 77 and i got it back stripped, the 12 bolt Housing was still in it but they took the ring and pinion and posi unit, sold the shell, my father felt sorry for me because he knew how hard I worked to buy itso he co-signed a small loan for me and I bought a 70 Nova SS BB 4 speed 12 bolt, all Black, I loved that car, I made so many changes making it faster I loved those days.
ANTIQUE GOLD, BLACK VINYL TOP, BLACK INTERIOR 😁👍🏻🇺🇸 Those body of NOVA just look better with vinyl top.. I had a 70 SS with a mild 327 4-speed and was the most DEPENDABLE halfass HOT ROD I ever owned and was so much fun 😎👍🏻🇺🇸
Im a die hard gearhead above all a Ford guy comes a close second … i like alot of em ole Chevys and the 69 nova is gotta be my favorite bodystyle of the Chevy cars … im glad to see you guys got this car instead of some 16 year old punk getting it and destroying it !!! I cant wait to see your finished product!!!!
I'd leave the paint and clear coat it..I'd get a cowl induction hood and prime that..leave it old school..I'd even do a white vinyl top..kinda like axel Foley on Beverly hills cop
I love seeing anything that's NOT a 1st Gen Camaro getting some love. Monza's 2nd Gen will always be my dream car, but it's nice to see Novas becoming more popular.....although if I had to choose a single car, it would be the stereotypical 70 Chevelle SS454 in Silver with Black Stripes, reproduction GM period correct Rally Wheels w/chrome beauty rings and center caps touching the ground.
That spoiler looks. Like it's from a Mopar to me but painted gold with black vinyl top would look so good will original rims or Chevy rally rims. Love the car jerry.
Hell yea ive had my 68 nova ss for 22+ years , u can tell a Factory big block nova by the heater box bb comes out of the box sbc comes out the firewall. My car came with Factory black buckets #735 on the fire wall tag , that tag under the hood tell u All about the car
A few ( very few) had a dealer installed spoiler. When you take it off the part numbers should help you out to track down the makers make and year model.
Gold with black vinyl top would look sick monza u would look awesome in that nova.
Great car!!!! Love the old school Big Block, gear banging 4 speed idea!!!!! P.S. Just have fun and do the car the way YOU want!!!!!
Damn straight Monza, going old school is the way to go! I have a 70 and I’ve kept it big block and four speed since 1989!!!
The 69 Nova SS didn't have a wing from the factory but dealers back in the day would sometimes install stuff like that to sell a car quicker. Would be hard to tell if someone installed it after purchasing or if the dealer installed it but it didn't roll out of the factory with that wing.
WAY COOL NOVA ,,, GLAD YOU GUY,S FOUND IT ,,, CANT WAIT TO SEE IT ALL COME TOGETHER
It would look badass gold with a black vinyl top and i used to have that same exact yellow snap on toolbox 😂
I love that you're going "Old School", I so miss those days, air, fuel and spark, any kid in high school could participate.
Gold with vinyl top, no rear spoiler
Love the old nova’s, stock looking with some horsepower! Good stuff
Thats cool as hell you guys!!!! Since Brandon wants it gold with a vinyl top do it!!!! I love seeing you guys building cool shit that the rest of us like in a garage with motors everyone can buy. Plus your doing it father and son style! Happy New Year!
Amazing buy can't wait to see what you do to the nova! Nova lover brother!
Agreed! Gold with black vinyl top would be 👌

I think that blue that's already on there would nice with some flake 👌
Nice car and I totally agree with you , a carburetor , big block 4 speed. Simple and fun. Thanks for the video.
It would look sick gold with black vinyl top. It’s sweet old nova. Glad to see u guys back.
That car is definitely a keeper. Gold with a black vinyl top.
Awesome Nova guys! I had a 69 back in high school but it wasn't an SS , Awesome find can't wait to see what u guys do this bad boy ,I do like Brandon's idea on the Gold with the black Vinyl top my 71 El Camino had that scheme Lol.

Can’t wait to see it when you get it done
Can't wait to see it finished
Beautiful car guys!
I had a 70 SS dark metallic blue with black interior, air shocks and ladder bars.
The rear trunk spoiler is aftermarket junk, the car didnt come with one.
I'm with Monza on keeping it simple old school!
Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Gold with black top on rallys would be very nice. Hard to beat a 68-72 nova. Gotta have the big Holley pump hanging out back. Can't wait to see the build up.

Father and son, that's always 💯 percent cool 😎 ❤
Hell yeah ! Luv the nova and let us see as you build it please.
So sweet I got a 67 SS nova with a 4spd old school for sure
I like Jerry’s plans for the car
That spoiler is not factory! GM never put them on the Nova's. I'm 71 now, and I owned a 70SS. Really like yours. I ran rallies on mine too. 14/7 on the front with 245/50 TA Radials, and 14/8 with 265/50s on the rear. Can't wait to see how you do yours! PEACE ✌️
Cool car. My dodge dart has a 360 & 727 trans i built, and i do agree that a big block and manual would be badass!
love it-i have a 66 comet that came with a bb 4 speed.i have owned it 42 years and i have put 4 big blocks in it
Blue with black top and rally’s with the corvette rally’s and derby caps in the center of the wheels would be jaw dropping ❤❤❤❤❤
Gold with a black vinyl top for sure
Nova is definitely a favorite of mine
That's cool Monza I got a 67 mustang cuz when I was coming up my dad we live in the same town he did when he grew up how do you say all the stories how he was a badass drag racing in the streets now he's in the hot rods but I got a 67 mustang when I turn 16 but now that I'm older I always wanted 68 to 72 Nova so if I hit the lottery that's what I'm buying good luck and I can't wait to see what comes of it

Nice to see you again brother...wonderful memories are about to be rekindled with that car! Enjoy!! 💪💪
Yeah gold with a vinyl top
The 69 ss did not come with a factory rear spoiler.
A true 69 nova ss did Not come factory with a spoiler!
Not a fan of nova's but seeing you working and building this with your son is what its all about.
Nice Nova
Old school blue with black rally stripes . ❤❤❤
Rock Crusher is an M22. Looking forward to watching this go together.
Brandon ready to start rowing gears Cool car.
Dark charcoal gray& black vinyl top & craigers that was my sweet dream car😊
Cool, think Gold and black vinyl top. Nice can’t wait for more to come. I’m into working on my 71 Chevelle too😊😊❤
A yenko knock off would be nice too
Gold with the vinal tip would be slick lookin. I think it'd be cool to see you recreate your old car man.
That same misty blue with the black vinyl top !
Nice nova, great find.😊
Vinyl top definitely, go with white
I would paint it back the original color and put your engine and trans in it. Keep it a sleeper! That looks like a nice car!
I love my 70 Nova. I just went old school with that. Everybody wants me to put a LS in it but I will not do it old school all the way for me
After Graduating HS I bought a 68 Chevele SS factory BB 4 speed 12 bolt in 1975, it was stolen in 77 and i got it back stripped, the 12 bolt Housing was still in it but they took the ring and pinion and posi unit, sold the shell, my father felt sorry for me because he knew how hard I worked to buy itso he co-signed a small loan for me and I bought a 70 Nova SS BB 4 speed 12 bolt, all Black, I loved that car, I made so many changes making it faster I loved those days.

"All original" is doing a lot of heavy lifting for that Nova. Still cool. Gold + vinyl top would look great.
Going to be a great build.
Good luck in the woods, Monza! I would love to have you come to our land here in Northern Indiana! I can definitely put you on a big boy
We can make that happen
I'd leave the paint and clear coat it..I'd get a cowl induction hood and prime that..leave it old school..I'd even do a white vinyl top..kinda like axel Foley on Beverly hills cop
Can't wait to see the build

Definitely keep the trunk spoiler. It’s a very rare SS option.
definitely painted red with the black
Very cool nova! I say paint it the same blue with a black Vinal top!
Gold with black vinyl top. Keep the spoiler on the deck lid.
Its gonna be cool to watch
Big Block 4 speed is the only way to go in something like that
That spoiler looks. Like it's from a Mopar to me but painted gold with black vinyl top would look so good will original rims or Chevy rally rims. Love the car jerry.
I'm 53 and Ive never seen or heard of a stock or dealer option spoiler for any gen Nova.
Listen to Brandon... Gold with black vinyl roof!!!
39k views. Thank you so much peoples. Were gonna do our best to keep the videos coming. Next is black car updates.
Hell yea ive had my 68 nova ss for 22+ years , u can tell a Factory big block nova by the heater box bb comes out of the box sbc comes out the firewall. My car came with Factory black buckets #735 on the fire wall tag , that tag under the hood tell u All about the car
