But my definition of a grown woman will have to be someone who is mentally mature enough to prioritize things of importance, self, bills, SELF… (lol) I think a woman who carries wisdom, and knowledge, who speaks about having GRACE with yourself. And who is moving on in life, leveling up… in whatever level she wanted for herself. - if that even makes sense.
A grown woman to me is someone who takes complete responsibility and accountability for their life and decisions. A woman that lives with purpose and is consistently working to improve all aspects of her life. I use Nivea lotion dry to very dry skin and if I want added moisture I add Eucerin Intensive Repair Balm. That balm is the most moisturizing, you can't go wrong with it.
I love your honesty! Sometimes I find it difficult to read the Word, but knowing I still have to push through regardless of how I feel. Also, once you step into your “grown woman” era you’ll love it. It so freeing!

Trying to get into therapy but with the change in my job, its been put aside. Talk about grown. Listen I have been in a season of isolation and it’s been hard when you have a lot going on and nobody to talk too. That why I think the book club would be good. I am ok, really hit home. ❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽
For my dry skin issues, I usually put on some baby oil after I shower while I am still wet and let that sit for. While then dry off and use lotion. Or u may need to use a filter in your shower if u have hard water issues in your area.

Grown woman is the era I'm diving into lately, and that is a proverbs 31 woman. A woman who is hardworking, God-fearing, generous, loving, a good friend, a good daughter, career woman. Don't have the children or the husband yet, but i am in a Godly courtship. God has just been working on me lately and i am loving the process and trusting it whole heartedly.
Hey Jae....I feel like there are levels or stages to this "grown" thing lol...for me I was married at 23 and had my first baby at 24...14yrs and 2 more kids later...I feel like I'm just starting to walk into and embrace the grown grown version of myself. Learning about relational intelligence and living for God over the acceptance of others....it's a whole lot of different aspects to it but it's a freeing process and I thank God for the on going journey!
I'm approaching my final year of grad school, and I just recently discovered your videos. I've been watching your vlogs as I take care of my errands daily, and I just want you to know that I really appreciate your transparency. You seem like a wonderful role model. Also, I get what you mean by not really being able to tell when you hit that “grown” phase. Granted, I still live with my parents and I'm not completely independent yet, but I've had conversations with my friends about wanting to experience that. I'm in no rush to age or get through milestones in life, but I’ll be excited when I get to the point where I can look back and truly feel like a grown woman. What’s so crazy is that I just had the thought last weekend that I feel like I’m a grown GROWN woman now. There’s an immature version of "feeling grown” that I’m sure is a phase we’ve all been through. But I feel like I’m truly entering into a era of fr being a grown woman. I moved up to New York from Texas and its been a really tough transition but I feel like I’m handling things differently. I’m really taking the joy of the Lord with me through the good and the bad, and trusting God with EVERYTHING! I’m paying bills, going to work everyday, and all that. Yes it can feel repetitive and adulting shol ain’t cute all the time 😂 but I’m handling it. Then on top of that, I’ve entered this posture where I’ve truly become content with being single. Like I’ve realized more and more that God is all I need, and when/if he decides to let somebody cut in, so be it! But in short, I just feel like my mind is been renewed daily. My priorities are in proper alignment. I’m taking care of business even when it’s hard. THAT to me, is what being a grown woman looks like. I’m just excited about how God is grooming me, cause for once, I truly like me.
Therapy is completely therapeutic and having someone that listens and helps you understand your inner emotions better. It’s guidance. I’ve been with my therapist since my brain surgeries due to a ruptured blood vessels. She’s even provided me with several podcasters to listen to. It’s growth in so many different sectors of life. To not feel so stuck in certain chapters of my life is a blessing. Everyone should seek therapy especially in our community cause it would definitely help us gain breakthroughs from so much trauma that’s been inflicted on us.
Love this point about therapy. I have a hard time finding one who is an believer of Christ, black and just sensitive for the Holy Spirit. Love this vlog, very encouraging ❤
Don't fret because "Grown" is not a suit that is tailored for everyone. I used to feel the same way at 25, then 30, then 35 and now at 41 with a 10 year old son, I have come to the Godlization (Realization through God), that he created me to radiate a girlish, effervescent personality and quality. That is WHO I AM and WHO GOD CREATED ME TO BE. Some "Grown" women yearn to get that girlish quality back because things they've gone through in life has forced them to be grown before their time. The grass isn't greener on any side. Enjoy every stage of WHO you are in every moment of your life. Because sometimes the devil wants to make you feel like you haven't reached a certain status in order to cause confusion when you are exactly where, who and how God created you to be! Today, I was experiencing feelings that just made me want to throw in the towel on so many things God has called me to, and I was just telling Him it’s hard to show up and continue when you feel like you don’t have anything else. “I expect God to show up because that’s who He is.” I am in tears!

To me, a grown woman comes with maturity. As life happens, the mindset of a person should change as well (in my opinion). I feel like people, in general, shouldn’t be the same as they were 6 months- to a year later (mentally). I am 24, a graduate student, still lives at home with parents ☹️, but as I grow mentally, my mindset changes, my decisions, and goals are changing. I feel how you picture your life at a certain age, will determine if your current age is putting in the direction to meet your future self.

Being grown is subjective. My mom used to say when you are paying your own bills you are grown. I came into my grown woman when I learned how to TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ME, my actions, my words, the way I represent myself for ME, my attitude oh my 😳attitude, my emotions, my best own friend. When I became my own person for me fell in love with being me, loving and appreciate my self, find beauty within myself an adult woman is me and I am she.

I have always been a therapy advocate! Even before deciding to be a psych now MSW major. You’re absolutely right that the black community shuns down upon therapy but I believe our generation is doing what our parents didn’t. We are healing so that generations after us do not have to. I preach therapy so much my family think that I’ll be their therapist 🤣 SN: I turn 27 this year and I have also been having these feelings about not feeling “grown” but I do recognize that I have evolved and will continue to do so. Girl, when my Jasper was a puppy he ran me up the wall. I was so stressed. Having a puppy was worst than a newborn for me. The first 2 weeks I cried regularly and because my family are not dog people I didn’t have support. But I learned 2 years in we’re good to go. I know you know this bc of your experience, but it’s valid girl! I hope you keep the new baby. Love the name Zara. ❤

I stopped seeing my therapist when she told me I was wrong for going thru my man phone. Lol I prolly was but I told myself “oh she ain’t for me” I obviously need a new one. I had the same revelations at 25 now I’m going thru a whole new set a revelations at 30!😅

Being GROWN to me isn't necessarily about the tangible things- how much you have, where you are in your career, financial or material things etc. It's more about your MENTALITY & MATURITY- how you deal with daily life & handle your situations no matter what they may be. I don't think you can place a specific age number on GROWN.

Being grown is subjective. My mom used to say when you are paying your own bills you are grown. I came into my grown woman when I learned how to TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ME, my actions, my words, the way I represent myself for ME, my attitude oh my 😳attitude, my emotions, my best own friend. When I became my own person for me fell in love with being me, loving and appreciate my self, find beauty within myself an adult woman is me and I am she.

Hey Jay…I think for me, I felt grown when I started saying “yup my mom was right” and noticing how I’m turning into her😂 but yeah that wisdom really hit different because even with friends, I changed my circles and just moved different.

I have always been a therapy advocate! Even before deciding to be a psych now MSW major. You’re absolutely right that the black community shuns down upon therapy but I believe our generation is doing what our parents didn’t. We are healing so that generations after us do not have to. I preach therapy so much my family think that I’ll be their therapist 🤣

Girl, when my Jasper was a puppy he ran me up the wall. I was so stressed. Having a puppy was worst than a newborn for me. The first 2 weeks I cried regularly and because my family are not dog people I didn’t have support. But I learned 2 years in we’re good to go. I know you know this bc of your experience, but it’s valid girl! I hope you keep the new baby. Love the name Zara. ❤

I stopped seeing my therapist when she told me I was wrong for going thru my man phone. Lol I prolly was but I told myself “oh she ain’t for me” I obviously need a new one. I had the same revelations at 25 now I’m going thru a whole new set a revelations at 30!😅

I don't think you can place a specific age number on GROWN.

I feel like you’re considered grown when you are aware of responsibilities and know how to handle adulthood. Such as decision making, working on yourself as in self love and building your career. And handling situations accordingly that life throws at you.
I don't know if you wash your hair in the shower, but I noticed when I stopped washing my hair in the shower, my back acne cleared up mostly.
