This belongs in the soundtrack of a movie where someone is tripping. I mean that in a good way!
Just got this in
Very cool sound and technique! How do you create this sound from just one instrument? Such a master of effects!
An amazingly beautiful work, Markus.
Thanks for sharing that.
Amazing music with an amazing instrument!
Beautiful, Markus.❤️

What difference does the damping material at the first fret make? At least I assume it's damping material :/
The tapping excites the string on both sides of the finger. The damper dampens the part of the string between the nut and the finger.
It also avoids the "pull-off" effect when you lift your finger: the open string won't resonate like it would on a guitar for example. Crucial when you're doing tapping, or you'll get a lot of unwanted notes...
@@ericbrunel8933 The "pull-off" won't be present when you have a correct technique. When tapping correctly and you stop the note, you damp with the finger that played the note. Additional damping can be applied be the other fingers of the same hand or the other hand.
But the essential part is to learn to play and stop a note with a single finger.
Most people who want to play tapping confuse it with hammer-ons / pull-offs which is a different technique.
@@ericbrunel8933 But one thing the damper does is to damp the unplayed strings and keep them from ringing from the impact of playing a note on another string.
This frees your hands from having to damp 7 other strings when playing one 1.
