(27 Dec 1977) Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat Wednesday (28/12) called on his "devoted friend", Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, to discuss the current Middle East situation in light of the recent Israeli- Egyptian peace moves.
arafat flew from belgrade to tito's secluded island retreat at brioni, in the adriatic. the yugoslav national news agency, tanjug, described the meeting as a "long, friendly talk".
